I'm trying to find the cheapest car rental for a 7 seater in Launceston for the dates of 26th of March Pick Up at 10am, Return 31st of March Around 5 or 5:30pm.

Has to be a 7 seater.

best so far is $442.46 for a Mitsubishi Outlander 7 seater, 200km daily limit with 25cents per k after with Rentforless.com.au.

Thanks :)

    Hi

How much stuff do you need to fit in the boot of the 7 seater?

Thisis how much space you'll have….

How many adults will you have in the car?

    • I'm based in Launceston. A friend and their child is coming to visit so we need a 7 seater just for sight seeing etc as I only have a 5 seater ute! We don't need to fit anything in the boot. Will be 3 adults, 2 children and one newborn. Thanks

      • It'll be a tight squeeze. The child seat takes up a lot of room. I know the distances in Tassie aren't big so it might be doable but comfortable hell no.

I'd say that price sounds OK for a week. Keep checking for coupons you can use, and as others have said if you can hire from the city not the airport as that costs more.

        • It seems to be same price from both city or airport.I've done a Google search for coupons, but I can't seem to find any.

  • hire car a lot.
agree with knick007 to question how practical or comfy to sit 7 in an Oytlander for a week, but what can you do if this is the best price?
did a search for you as well. IMO
1.don't think you can get anything cheaper than $442 a week
2.you will have absolutely no leg room and no room for luggage (not even hand carriers, unless put on the laps.
If I am you, will get a people mover instead. Most iMax are sold out on the dates (I actually doubt if some have it at all) and $950+.
The best choice to me is Hertz with the Kia Carnival for $900+.
The issue is the premium location surcharge in Launcheston airport. If you can pick up in town location, you can get for $760+. That is not too bad, perhaps worthwhile to get a driver and a sick kick to pick up from town via taxi/bus?? (haven't tried the return different location option and check the price difference) then back to airport.
Have not used any promo code yet, but doubt if any would work for "special" vehicles.
If you haven't book air ticket, booking via airline actually gets the best rate often.
Get your insurance premium waiver via Allianz before hand (cheaper than via car companies).
Good luck and enjoy your trip. PM me if anymore question.

  • $25 shuttle bus return airport to city.
