  • If games count as apps, which they are, star wars Kotor.

For productivity or work apps… None. Been satisfied with free apps.

    Trip view paid
    Tasker paid
    Lot more…

  • Arrivo (for Sydney buses)

  • Nova Launcher Prime, it adds features like more gestures support and unread counts.
Bought it when it was 20c though, that said, I think I would buy this at full price.

Poweramp is something I have mixed opinions on, since I feel like I wouldn't buy it if I have to pay the full price for it.
There are features that'd be must for others that I don't really use, that is all.

    • I use jetaudio, the free version, rather than Poweramp.

Poweramp was the best until I learned that crossfading for gapless playback, is not free. With jetaudio it IS free, and I would recommend you to try it.

No I don't get paid, just think that it's purely superior.

      • Eh, as I said, I personally think Poweramp is not worth the price tag at its full price.
Only bought it because it was 10c (or something like that), and everyone was saying it was great.

jetaudio looks nice, but I already have a music app that work, so eh.

        • Eh… Well OK fine, thanks for appreciating my attempt to give you a nice recommendation. Lol

        • @inose: You simply gave me a reason that doesn't really apply to me (crossfading + I've already bought the app). I don't think it's a bad recommendation though, I am sure others will appreciate the alternative (especially since Poweramp is at its full price).

  • Pocket Weather Australia
    Today Calendar Pro
    Automate Premium
Xposed GEL Settings (needs root + Xposed)

  • Thanks for these suggestions.

How about productivity apps and IAP?

  • First off get google rewards. Allows you to do some surveys for play store credit. You seem keen to be paying for apps but hey you're on ozbargain.

I've bought a few more as well, but they've mostly been mentioned.

    • i've currently got about $15 worth of google money from doing the surveys, and apart from apps/iaps, can i use the money for?? is there any subscription services (like spotify or something) that lets me pay in google money?

      • I do remember hearing that some IAPs can transfer over to other OS's version of the same thing (i.e. someone was talking about MS Office 365 subscription with Telstra Billing), perhaps try that?

Also, I'd assume Google Play Music would let you do that (and they are running a promotion right now as well).

  • Moon+ Reader is the best ebook reader https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flyersoft.…
Textra SMS is the best SMS replacement https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.textra
I would prefer they make Hangouts useable but am still waiting

Off topic as it is free but I have recently been using Metal instead of FB and FB Messenger apps
It is a 'lite' app - basically just a chrome webpage wrapper
Not quite as functional but battery life has improved and phone is snappier without FB apps

    • Agreed. FB apps are awful. Simply awful. Here is an article on how awful FB app is.
I am thinking about replacing the messenger with it, but since I use it like SMS, not too sure whether it'd be a good idea. Is Metal good enough to replace the messenger completely?
Also, they released a "Pro" version of Metal. It's $2.40, it just adds Material theme (for now at least).

  • For those that are recommending trip view, also consider "arrivo Sydney"
Awesome for tracking my daughter on the bus!

  • Is there any good app to replace CleanMaster? CleanMaster used to be good now just bloated.
