i get "The code you entered could not be applied. Please try again."

so looks like they've fixed it already…:(

        • @caprimulgus:
          confirm, didn't work for me

        • @dinna89:

sad to know, my order is now ready to collect….

    • +1

      Confirmed this worked for me

      • good to know some of us still get around it with new paypal account

    • +1

This worked for me. PayPal charged the correct amount. Thanks! I'm getting a Dyson for my parents.

      • good to know, as long we can get around it, mine is ready for pick up at local store already!!

  • Can anyone recommend a good router for me for longer range? My current modem/router is the default one from Optus and the wifi doesn't reach the other side of the house…

    • +1

      R7000,R8000, AC68U,AC88U

      • Thanks for the suggestions

    • +1

buy a 5 dollar antenna and swap them over

    • I'm needing to replace my old router also, I'm currently considering the ASUS RT-AC87U, which if it this discount applies should come in under $250 from Kogan.

  • Do we get charged full price at paypal? and then reimbursed afterwards?

    • No, it should only take away the price after discount. If you've been charged the full price, please ask for a refund or open a dispute if required.

  • +1

For stores that haven't finished jack up the prices, you will see this:

Sorry, we are facing issues with the store. Please try again later.

  • Man eBay taking a while to fix this thing up!

  • +2

Can confirm I bought an item from the Good Guys via my ebay App on my phone. Applied the coupon, saw the reduced price, logged in to paypal (no errors shown) and then pressed Buy. Logged into Paypal to find I was charged FULL PRICE! Contacted PayPal and they couldn't do anything. Contacted eBay and they said that since I pressed buy for the reduced price, they will credit me the discount within 15 days. I'm happy with that.
So if you want to buy anything, use the eBay app, add items to cart, apply the coupon, select payment method, take a screenshot of the final reduced price that you expect to pay, then click buy. Then call eBay and they should credit you the difference.

    • Yeah seems like a bit of mucking around. I think I'll just wait until they fix up their code. Rather not do the run around with emails.

    • How did you contact ebay? (Email or Phone?)

      • Phone

  • there's no minimum spend is there?

    • -6

Have you bothered to read the original post, the T&C's above, mate? Also, the deal is currently suspended (due to "code error") so tread carefully.

      • -1

err yes i did. there was no mention of "no minimum spend" hence why i asked and not assumed that that was the case.

        • +2

          @AussieDaddy:

what's that got to do with minimum spend?

        • -5

@CVonC: Minimum. I see. You got me there. You win.

        • +2

          @AussieDaddy:

yes how about you bothering to read my post first.

        • +2

          @AussieDaddy:

Funny how the offensive becomes the defensive

        • -5

@aerona: Funny how quick you had to come to the rescue. ;)

        • +4

@AussieDaddy: Haha who are you telling to calm down?
Look at your first comment and then you'll see who should calm down!

  • I went all the way until final PayPal screen and the discount was still applied and wasn't removed.

Is it working again now? :/

I just added it to cart, applied code, checkout with PayPal and on both PayPal checkout screens the discount was applied.

    • Mine reverts once you log into Paypal or change payment method.

      • once you change payment method, you have to create new paypal account to get it to work again….that is how I end up getting around it

        • Okay so, I tested it again and this time it was removed on final PayPal checkout screen. I'm assuming it only works the first time you enter it and login to your PayPal, if you try again it'll be removed.

        • @aussy:
When you cancel after logging into Paypal are you "Committed to buy" at that stage or are you able to use this to check if the discount will work?

        • @aussy:

Yep same thing happened to me. Applied first time then I tried the source account and bamm, back to full price :(

    • Not me. Still got the discount un-applied when I get to the PayPal screen, as per OP. (FYI trying a phone from Good Guys)

      • I tested it with a product from futu, not sure why it works for some and not others.. strange

  • +1

    Hey Guys!
I can not (Sockpuppeting - no idea why) post this as a deal but the code worked fine on:

Samsung Note 4 SM-N910G from Kogan eBay
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-Android-Phone-Galaxy-…

So I noticed that if the item has "C20TECH to save 20% (max $1000) off item price" under it then the discount applies like it did during other eBay specials.
Purchased without any issues and received confirmation email for $553.60 with paypal receipt showing original price charged with $138.39 Voucher applied.

    Good luck hunting!

    • So you're saying that the tech discount applies only at selected stores AND on selected items within those stores? interesting.. (and crap, if true)

      • +1

Well I can only confirm that it applied to this item.
And as per other comments we can see that it works on some and does not on others.

        • Seems to be really random. Quite annoying!

    • I can see the similar note on Kogan items too
"C20TECH to save 20% (max $1000) off item price"

    • i got the same item, purchased with no problem.

  • +1

Can confirm C20TECH works, just bought chromecast from TGG and discount applied both in ebay and paypal

    • good find, do you know if goodguys will refund the money for CC2 bought in store by showing CC@ bought from their ebay store ?

      • I dont know mate, its worth a try

  • Great. The price went up by 5 bucks for the Samsung SSD.

    • Care to share a link? Is it the evo 850?

      • Yep. The $144 one before discount.

  • Yeah working again, thanks OP!

  • Yep confirmed working for me as well! Double checked the Paypal amount and I indeed get the 20% discount.

Edit: Checked credit card transaction online and its all good. Charged the discounted price. I purchased the Samsung Evo SSD 512GB from Futu Online. Total on statement is $204. eBay normal price is $255.

  • still not working for me (good guys, dyson absolute).

anyone got it working on the dyson absolute?

    • I bought chromecast 2 @TGG and the code is working, but not for that dyson absolute. Maybe still on progress

    • Im getting that absolute too…not working xtech error same as everyone

    • +1

hey guys, create a new paypal account, this is how I got my absolute and some others as well, mine is ready to pick up at local store already

  • I get this error in paypal, so still not working for everyone
"X-TECH: Please enter the correct redemption code. Codes are not case sensitive."

    • Bing Lee, tried 2 different browser, neither working yet.

      • What are you trying to order from Bing Lee ? I just ordered a Laptop and it worked fine…

        • Chromecast 2, C+C, reduces to $46 in cart, then paypal, then price goes up once I login to paypal as it has been all day.

  • didn't work for me when I tried to buy a phone via TGG. At first the paypal site showed the reduced price but I tried to change payment to another card and then the price jumped up by 20% and got the message ' X-TECH: Please enter the correct redemption code. Codes are not case sensitive' I get the feeling that if I had not tried to change the card and proceded quickly it would have worked at the lower price.

  • +1

Who would I contact if someone at my office didn't take notice when ordering through our work account that the 20% didn't appear? I emailed ebay directly but we shall see.

  • Same issue with me, on changing the funding source the coupon was removed.

    TGG + Futu buys.

  • Cheers, Bought a new phone. Ended up cheaper than the order I made in December and nearly got scammed from (dodgy seller, and incompetent eBay, PayPal made it right in the end :)

    • which one did you go for? Kogan??

      • +1

I'm always hesitant to mention what I bought… in case someone tells me I could have got it cheaper elsewhere. Ignorance is bliss ;)

        Moto X Play from Kogan

        • Hahaa… we all face buyer's regret… Its an ongoing thing… Dont let it ruin the happiness of shopping :)

          Thanks for sharing though!!

  • +3

Still being advertised on GG ebay store:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/rpp/thegoodguys/

    C'mon ebay…I gotta buy sh!t…

  • +1

Is there a link to search all the participating stores

  • +8

Suspended until all of them decides to jack up prices, or remove all goodies deemed as "too cheap" or "bargains" to sell off even though eBay pays the difference. That's how they make money. Make it look like there's a massive discount 20% but its all artificial.

Coding error? I say the shops forgot to "react" quick enough to take down listings before the deal starts

    • +1

So you're saying eBay didn't tell all the participating stores until this morning?

      • +4

Either that or some stores forgot to review their listing. This is all speculation. I have never seen eBay promotions like this gets suspended with "Coding" error

        • It seems more unlikely to me that eBay would have a 20% off sale for selected stores only, without telling the stores beforehand.

    • Well they jacked up the price for the Samsung SSD. I still took the bait though so their sales hype via OZB absolutely works as a social medium. It's more like a 5-15% off sale rather than 20….

      • Why do you ignore all the deals where prices don't change, or where prices actually dropped like the post below mentions?
        Classic case of confirmation bias?

        • Possibly. Not without possibility some shifty work on eBay's part to help move some stock for their own benefit due to commission. They are a business after all…

    • I was after a pro micro SD card, and noticed they were $20 more at these stores than the average price elsewhere.

  • I'm after a gopro from TGG. Price has actually dropped from $575 to $549… code still does not work at paypal tho.

  • +2

So it seems if you create a new Paypal account and process the order as normal the discount is applied successfully. I can verify this works both via Paypal and bank account transactions.

    • Yes confirm this worked for me

    • either credit card or bank account, as long as it's a new paypal account would work, do not change payment method while check out otherwise would go back to normal price again!!!

    • Yep, I can confirm creating a new Paypal account works, did the same & bought an iPad from TGG.

  • Guys, the code worked for me at TGG for a new TV purchase (KDL65)

Logged into CR, went to eBay, added TV to cart, applied coupon, logged into my PayPal (payment method was bank transfer though) and made the purchase!

    Easy!!

    • I think the key there is the changing of payment method.

      • I actually didn't change my payment method but it was set to bank transfer as default.

        • Nah. Soon as I log in it wipes the coupon with the dreaded X-TECH error.

        • What I meant was changing the payment method may trigger the coupon being removed, so going straight through with the default may be the reason why it works for you. Though maybe not as Brink shows.

  • So where's the minimum spend on this? Did not see it under T&C. Is it like $200 or $100 again?

    • The total discount is capped at $1000 per transaction. Limit 3 transactions per person during the Offer Period.
      So I dont think there's a minimum spend :)

  • will it for work samsung S7?

  • Worked for me on the dyson v6 from good guys. Couldn't find the v6 on desktop, but could see it on mobile and checked out successfully using PayPal. Email confirmation received that discount applied

    • Testing on Android ebay app…Not risking it…Says Order total $356 but then the Paypal amount is $445….

      • Yep same here

      • I didn't use the app. Chrome on android
