Pear cider is usualy sweet, but if drank right is great! Fill a glass with ice, let it sit for 30 sec then drink. The ice will cut sweetness and cider is always better over ice.
Good pear cider is not sweet and has no added sugar, Rekorderlig has 33g of added sugar per can, which is similar to soft drinks like Coke etc.
Sweden has an abundance of different ciders, and they are all sweet. You might argue the definition of cider, but it's really more of a cultural thing. This is traditional Swedish cider. Might differ from Australian cider.
Damn! I was going to grab some but I was wondering the same thing. That's an insane amount of sugar (about 8 teaspoons?)

No, this is fermented corn syrup with added flavouring. It's created in a laboratory… there's nothing traditional about it.

Go into a Swedish bottle shop. Pick 10 random brands of cider. Some will be slightly sweeter than others, but they will all basically be the same style. You can argue whether you think it's a real cider or not, but that's what Swedish cider is like.I noticed your yet to refute my ice theory. :)

Well I can agree that rekorderlig tastes good on ice the same way coke tastes good on ice…I have had rekorderlig before btw, it's not my thing, I'm not into sugary drinks, I actually like the taste of coke zero better than reg coke, and I'd much rather have a beer than a rekorderlig.

Rekorderlig is definitely one of the sweetest ciders out there. If you like them sweet but not full rekorderlig sweet, I'd recommend somersby cider. It's also much cheaper (normal price I mean, this clearance price is obviously very low).
I have been drinking the somersby pear cider which is sweet but not sickly sweet IMHO. $22 for 10 x 375ml cans from premix king. I might grab a slab of the rekorderlig to compare for this price.
I tried it once and it was way too sweet for me - I couldn't drink it.
It is personal taste, but I'm much more into Kirin cider.Girls probably frequent ozbargain too…

Just a heads up, I saw these for $20 in First choice liquor in Richmond Melb just this weekend, expiring in about a month but the guy working there said expiry dates on this stuff are useless anyway.

Got a couple slabs from Werribee NQR today (drinking them now) and they taste great over ice. There was plenty of stock there too. Also spent way too much money on ice cream and junk food… Thanks heaps OP!
