Great deal, mentioned already in TA's post :)

      Oh I didn't realise this was a dupe, whoops…

      • +2

Not a dupe, since he didn't include it in his title.

  • Does anyone know the cheapest price so far for USB 3 Flash Drive per GB?

    • +4

Probably PNY Turbo 128GB for $35, but the quality of those drives are questionable.

      • thanks!

      • Been using that for over a year now. No issues. :)

Good for you as you have the older model but the new one has a very high failure rate.

  • Thanks, just bought one.

      Congratulations on your success.

May God bless you with many more to come.

  • Such a good deal and tempting, but too bad I don't need one.

  • Great drive and form factor without the overheating issues surrounding the SanDisk fit.

    • So this drive is better than the Sandisk one?

      • +1

I'd say so. Raw performance would be similar, but r/w sustained over a long period of time will probably result in the Sandisk throttling due to heat.

EDIT: Looking at performance figures from the Amazon reviews, the Samsung seems to have significantly faster write speeds than the Sandisk: http://imgur.com/a/VN0IO (except in 4K loads).

        • +4

I'm sceptical about some of these benchmarks. I bought a 16GB Samsung Metallic USB drive from Harvey Norman this morning. Crystal Disk Mark said 40+MB/s Seq Write (don't remember the exact number - will test it again later). I then went to dump 10GB of video onto it (800MB files), and it went at a consistent 13-15MB/s the entire time. This was in a USB 3.0 port. My 32GB Samsung Metallic in the same port gets 24-25MB/s (obviously they get faster as the capacity goes up). So that 95MB/s, I'm not sure how accurate that would be in a real world scenario. Still, I'm sure it'll live up to expectations for such a cheap drive.

  • Thanks bought one too. Doesn't look like futu sells the 128gb version.

  • must resist have too many usb and sd cards

    • can never have too many, the little ones get lost easier ;P

  • Perfect fit for my Chromebook! Thanks OP!

64GB is out of stock :(

    • Damn, we cleaned them out!

  • +1

Futo increased the price from $27.50 to $28.50 2 days back after TA posted and after coupon price increased 80 cents, ozbargainers still cleaned it out ! Just tell me why won't business increase prices more in next eBay promotions. Only 1% of eBay buyers check price history.

    • +1

Hi renegade, is there an easy way of checking price history on eBay?

      • near the top of the page, where an item says "1,234 sold" or whatever, click that link. It will show a list of the recent times when the item was purchased and the price paid. You can't see exactly when the price changed, but you can see if people are paying more/less than they were before.

You can't see exactly when the price changed

You can see if you look at the revision history.

        • @Maverick-au:

Tanks Alzori and Maverick-au :) Much appreciated.

  • nice drive, i actually use the caps though so i'm disappointed samsung cheaped out on them.

    • +7

It doesn't look like you use any caps.

  • Think I might wait and hope the 64gb comes back into stock. Seems a good solution for music for the car.

    • +1

i think its back in stock

  • Back in stock but remember seller increased price by S1 2 days back

  • +1

Just got a 64gb one. Cheers

  • What's the cheapest price on the 128gb version?

Amazon works out to $50ish with postage to melbourne!!

    Thanks all

  • 64GB Out of Stock again (I bought 2, Thanks OP)

  • Hey when you go through Paypal, does it state the full price paid? $28.50?
The CTECHIE Code applied and brought the price down, but the paypal payment states the full price? is that right?

    • +1

My paypal statement showed $45.6 (I bought 2 64GB version)

      • Thanks. Even though the code applied at checkout, I was charged full price when I paid through Paypal.
        Have contacted eBay customer care.

        • Wrong. Check your PayPal. Technically the full $28.50 is paid to the retailer. eBay just pays 20%. Check transaction details on PayPal and you'll see it.

  • Missed the deal…

  • More stock plz :(

  • Any idea why among all Tech sellers (like PC Byte, Shallothead etc) why only Futu is selected for ebay Promotions. I despise their price raise during ebay promotions. When they see demands they increase prices by 5~15% as there are no other tech sellers anyway, so no competition for them.

    64GB back in stock again.

    64Gb BACK IN STOCK :):):)

  • Thanks, bought it! Seems to be back in stock!

  • Yeah, just bought one 64GB!

  • out of stock again :(

    • And now it's back ;)

      • +1

I'm having trouble paying with paypal.. anyone else? says payment pending and then after an hour ebay sends me an email saying payment unsuccessful… never had a problem like this before..

        • +1

Same problem here. Very frustrating. I did get it to work on the third try but I had to wait half an hour after each attempt to receive the email that the last payment had failed before I was confident of trying again. I think there's a serious issue on the PayPal end.

        • @dazweeja: i ended up ebay messaging futuonline and they cleared the funds for me.
