  • Anyone try their metal prints before?

    • Been meaning to, trying to find the right photo :)

    • I have. I wasn't happy with the results though. I purposely saturated my photos more but it turned out quite flat when I got it.

Thanks, dodged a bullet there :)

      • I suspect they do something to minimise their costs.

    • I haven't tried bigw metal prints but did get a Harvey Norman one from a previous deal. A poster suggested that they both use the same printer. The Harvey Norman one wasn't great. I wouldn't be buying another through Harvey or bigw.

I have other metal prints from labs and they are heaps better.

      • Can recommend any aussie comoanies? Ive bought a metal from adoramapix and that was great wuality, but id rather support an aussie company if possible.

        • @bbourizk: legend thanks will check it out.

        • @bbourizk:

          Looks very nice but expensive.

        • @JH100:
          Quality costs more sometimes unfortunately.

        • @bbourizk:

Sure does. Thing is I am looking for a printing service for selling some of my own work on markets and people don't want to pay much. Who does …

        • @JH100:
I know what you mean… I actually do a bit of photography and sold a few canvases. I usually buy Groupon deals for fabness.com.au.

Usually a large 100x75cm is about $80-90 normally $290 on the fabness site.

For metal I used to use a lab in qld but can't think what's it called now and they were a bit cheaper. I also use digitalworks.net.au for prints they have a large selection and I think they do metal as well.

        • @bbourizk:

That's a good deal. Couldn't do it to order, more's the pity.

I'm looking for something in Bris, so I can check the work. There's a few around, just haven't gotten to it yet. But I might just go with cheap and cheerful, KMart, BigW, etc.

    • I got the Fallout 4 perk chart printed on metal, it turned out quite nicely.

  • Can anyone comment on the Canvas print quality?

    • +1

I can. Ordered 5 previously (including 3 which were 50cms x 100cms), happy with how they all turned out. Vibrant colours, no smeared images.

Will definitely order more when they're cheap and I've more memorable moments to be blown up and put on the wall.

        Great!
Thanks for that, I'm wanting to get some wedding pics done for the new home.

  • I had some photos done at BigW a while back. I saw the sample and it looked good, but the finished job was flat, low contrast and under-saturated.

I suspect they do something to keep costs down when printing any amount, or doing specials. Does anyone know what?
