  • Considering trying to price match this at JBHIFI. Did you end up buying one OP?

    • Yes I did
Haven't set up yet, still at work until 5pm

Thinking about all the evil things I can do with it

      • Like what?

Making my dog run around and scaring the s#it out of the cat

battery last for?? if under 1 hour, no deal for me

    • All toys like this generally have low battery lives (around 10 min)

    • "up to" 20 minutes. Likely much lower

      • From the official website: Battery
Lithium-Polymer and removable (compatible with Rolling Spider)
Lasts up to 20 minutes and full recharge in 90 minutes

        20mins haha!
Maybe sliding the thing down a mountain or freefalling out of a plane!

The speed of the wheels and the high jumps will require heaps of energy from the small battery.

        CNet review:
        Negs:

Video capture is limited to VGA resolution and requires a Micro-USB thumb drive for storage. Battery life is "up to" 20 minutes, and the battery is charged in the Sumo and takes about 90 minutes to top off. Wi-Fi connection can be temperamental.

All that said, for $98 its a great deal!!

    • Some of the flying drones last for just 5 minutes

    • Same. No point in something that only lasts minutes. I'll wait until batteries can last for an hour at least, especially since I don't have any real need for such a device.

Exactly. Baterry technology is indeed very poor. No improvement in the last two decades.

  • Clearing out the old models it seems.

  • Great price however after reading through Amazon's reviews, it seem a lot of people are having problems with the jumping mechanism.

Can it really jump Parrots? Are we talking trained Parrots on the ground or flying Parrots?

  • just read few review under the comment from parrot offical youtube, many ppl complaining about the easily broken plastic that is made for jumping mechanism.(mostly break on the same day they unboxed the item…)

i think i am going to wait for next generation…

the camera does stream. however poor connectivity and it is not a full HD, whats worse, there is no sound.

for me, it is like a 50$ 60$ product with all the con i just said. i would happily pay for 100% if is made of aluminium and better camera.

200$ for original price? hell no

  • Dick Smith has them slightly cheaper @ 60 or 65% off, 96$ from memory. I paid a little more and got the jumping race model for around $115. A bit of tweaking with the settings and it's a pretty awesome toy. Great for harassing the cats.

  • The crazy thing is HN has the bebop 1 at 200$ more than the bebop 2.

EDIT — they did the other day, the B 1 is now $300 cheaper than the B2.

How the f*** are JB selling this for $219?

I am so tempted to walk into a JB and ask for a price match but I just know I'll get rejected for some bullshit reason.

  • Do I want it?

    Yes

    Do I need it?

    No

    (still buys anyway)
