What's this about? I can't find anything on their site about such an offer and it sounds way too generous to be true (especially from COTD!)
Mate, when you go through the checkout, COTD will explain you to either get a 30 day trial or, buying for $50 or more to get a one year free membership.
I didn't receive either of those offers, but then I've already had a free trial in the past.
Are you sure that free one year memberships were being offered just for spending $50 or more? Paying members have to spend $50 or more every time just to get free shipping, so in effect they'd be giving away free year long memberships.

I.e. each new account needs a different CC to get the trial of club catch/free shipping.
