  • Wow!

  • +1

Too bad I live in Brisbane, better be quick before they fix that error.

    • +2

Same, I had no actual plans to visit Taipei but I would at that price!

Also I saw that it stops over at Singapore - a very cheap one way flight to Singapore if the rest of the trip is forfeited

    • +2

If you have Amex, take the free flight to Perth and then fly to Singapore/Taipei!

      • +3

Can only start from the west on the cross oz free fares. Not front the east.

  • That is cheap.

  • $12 booking via Bravofly. Trustworthy?

    • $20 over edreams and $74 via helloworld. Never tried any myself so can't comment unfortunately

  • WOW
    Longs Lay Overs
    Stop: 12h 20m and Stop: 16h 15m

    BUT SO CHEAP!
    Might go Taipei now

    edit:
if you add luggage its extra:
    1 item of luggage max 15kg: AUD74.50

    • E-dreams shows up $79.75 EACH WAY each bag

    • +5

Singapore airport is so nice I can't say I'd be overly upset spending 12 hours inside! Cinemas, computers with online gaming, PS4/Xbox etc., gardens, sleep lounges, entertainment zones and a city tour all for free. The the usual transit hotels and business/lounge facilities and a swimming pool.

  • that is awesome. if I wasn't getting back from Japan 2 days before…..

  • +5

Wow, quite amazing, anybody who gets this please report back, I'm just curious, have already been to Taiwan. Even the second choice is cheap at $170 and that's listed at another 2 sites so might be genuine.

  • Its ~$80 from SYD

    • +2

      im getting 120 from syd

  • Wow dirt cheap. Dammit I have a trip booked on those dates.

  • what is the obligation to provide at advertised cost?

    • +4

      None

    • +1

      Zero Obligation.

    • Almost certainly Internet shops have T&Cs allowing them to cancel the order and refund on pricing error. But they might let it through for goodwill, like the Chiang Mai flight I scored from Thai a couple of years back.

      Or it might be genuine.

      • Taipei is genuinely desperate to get travellers?

        • +2

          Is it typhoon season yet?

    • Since this isn't direct through the airline a cancellation is more likely I suppose since Bravofly etc always cancel flights.

For $12 worth the risk but not for 100s if you're strapped for cash since it can take time to get your money back.

  • +1

    WTF?

    • +58

      No, it's IWTF.

      • +17

So if you miss out it will become IWTF WTF.

        • +1

          WTFIWTF..?!

      • Genius!

    • Genius!

  • +4

cheaper than my lunch! is taipei any fun?~

    • +1

I have been to Taipei 4~5years ago, hotels food etc very cheap and delicious. Not sure if it is typhoon season in July though.

    • Go buy your lunch in Taipei.

  • Even $118 from Sydney is cheap HERE

    Edit: Already mentioned above.

  • +2

    Now they'll pay you $8.12 (i.e. -$8.12) to fly return to Taipei… (https://au.edreams.com/travel/secure/?action=engine%2FItiner…)

Hmm.. wonder if they'll honour that.

    • +8

      Book the whole plane out!

      • +8

        My grandchildren in 100 years…

"And that's how grandpapa came into the money. He booked out every Scoot flight for 48 years at -$8 a piece. Remarkable, indeeed.".

  • +5

Just booked 25th till 30th for $100 return from Sydney

lets do an ozbargain tour :)

    • -1

Thats good find, but how did you find it?
Do you actually have to go select a day by day to find best prices?
      I used 21 to 27 and it gave me $800 :(

      • +2

The return date has to be the 30th

    • I got slapped with about 20 dollar payment surcharge.. But still good though

    • I'm getting AUD88.23 if pay by Diners Card otherwise AUD131.66

    • +2

I booked from the 25th - 30th to, now we just need someone to print the OzBargain tees.

      • +2

Haha mine is from 26th to 30th, will see you guys on the return flight (if they honour it)

  • +2

I added two adults and 1 child and the ticket was $0 on IWTF and -$13.72 once transferred to the e-dream website.

    • +1

      2 adults, 1 child , 1 infant = $69 pp Poor 2nd child Always forgotten!

  • +4

    2 adults n 2 childs for AUD7.57???

    • what about sydney to T for 2 adults?

    • lol, that is coming up as $1 for me lol

      • same but when u actually want to book it then it showed AUD7.57

        • oh, i have no intention of booking but this deal is pretty impressive lol. Would love to see if anyone from here has their flights honored.

  • +3

BTW don't know if this is common knowledge, but when you look at a price for a flight, the price goes up for every new view. A friend was using VPN to check for cheaper prices, and each visit he did from a different location made the price rise

    • +8

wash behind your ears, and always clear your cookies

    • Don't think that happens anymore, you can view the raw cost of a flight using ITA matrix.

      • Except Matrix isn't always accurate.

  • +2

I got sent an alert for Mel to Singapore return for $20 the other day, only problem was the departing flight was 5 hours after if read the email! My wife would kill me if I told her she only had 1 hour to pack!

    • +3

or she'd love you for being a spontaneous romantic.

  • Could I just stay in Singapore and not go to Taipei ?

    • +1

Yes but then they cancel the return flight.

      • And I assume you can't have checked baggage then?

Since checked baggage will automatically be put onto the flight heading to Taipei.

        • +2

If you haven't boarded your flight your checked bags get taken off

        • @jayz: That sounds like a wise security measure.

        • +1

Not with scoot, you have to pay for the privilege of your luggage being checked through to Taipei, normally you collect it in Singapore then 'check in' again.

          http://www.flyscoot.com/index.php/en/pre-flight/scoot-thru.h…

        • +1

          @sween64:

Reason why they will always page passengers. Much easier and faster to find missing passengers than to look for their bags loaded on the plane.

      • Are you sure, I would book if I didn't have to go to Taipei.

    • Yeah if you don't check in luggage I guess…

  • -4

this sounds too good to be true.

    • +2

Get a different site to price match then.

    • I know someone who's dealt w/ Bravofly (also with Scoot) - in that case they said they would book and send ticket within 24-48 hrs, and price was subject to change (after initial payment had been made). I imagine if the price goes up (like this) Bravofly will pull that trick.

And, if the reviews are anything to go by, it might be hard to get your hard earned $12 back…

      • +1

That's why I paid by paypal.

  • Applies 23/7 to 30/7 too. I can only assume this is a massive price error as AirAsia has it for $470, but what the hell, I'll pay $20 for a chance at it haha.

  • +1

the return date must be 30th.

depart date you can change to any.

  • +1

I've had pricing errors with Bravofly before…. you won't receive an itinerary in the usual timely fashion, and then within 24 hours you'll get an error notification. Money to be refunded.

    Tip: Don't book non-refundable accommodation!!

    • Jetstar price match?

  • price at $20 dollars. deal expired :D

    • +1

      Showing $40 now.

  • +1

So..how can we do the price beat?

  • I keep getting the error "Your booking was not successful and the tickets were not issued . Therefore nothing has been charged."

  • +7

Partner was told there's leave available in July so I've just booked him a trip to Taipei…
    Farewell!

  • +1

    I'm getting this…..

    Scoot · 1 stop
    Return to Perth

    JUL

    17:25 - Perth (PER)

    Scoot · 1 stop

    Final price AU$ 11.97

  • +2

    Nothing from MEL :(

  • +6

Don't trust Bravofly, I've booked with them before (Flights to Canada costing $2400/return) BravoFly couldn't honor the price and eventually my money was refunded after 10 Business Days of the Sale being Pending.

Multiple calls to BravoFly who said they would cancel the transaction, they also try calling at 4-5AM AEST as they're an international company.

  • +20

Ticket: Row W. Plenty of leg room and air conditioning
"Hmm, this sounds too good to be true for $12…"
Air attendant: "Row W is right this way sir"
"Why are we outside? What are you tying me to the wing of the plane?"
Air attendant: "W stands for Wing"
"I knew this was too cheap!"

    • Brilliant.

    • … and here's your bill / surcharge for the occy straps holding you down, as with everything flight related, they're not included in your fare!

      • +4

"and here's your plastic goggles for high chance of splashback when using the outside toilet"

    • Standard flyin' in the old days. Just bring some cordial. Instant icypops. Gather some beaded friends, light up a campfire. Sing songs about high as the sun. Someone always has a guitar with them in this crowd. Ahh the memories.
      The answer is blowing…

  • Thanks OP, just booked from SYD for 6 people for $123 each, fingers crossed they honour the price but I'm not holding my breath with what people are saying above based on their previous experiences with Bravofly….

    • Which dates was that? Struggling to find anything below $150.

      • Depart SYD on 14/7 and return to SYD on 31/7.

    • +2

Wow you scored 6 tickets for the price of 1 based on their normal regular price. Hope they honour it. Enjoy :)

    • Return or one way?

    • No baggage Shooting?

      • only cabin luggage for now @ 7kgs each x 6 pax = 42kgs plus can get another 3kg each if laptop is part of the cabin luggage, bring on the laptops, tablets, etc…

  • Can't make a booking, website keep sending error message ?
