Ted's Cameras 5 Min Survey FREE $50 Online Coupon (Min Spend $200)

1130
CT504U

Just got an email from Ted's Camera.
Very straight-forward. They are giving away free $50 coupon code to use online (min spend is $200). It's good if you're getting a lens, usually over 200 bucks. $50 voucher could come in handy. Cheers

Please note: Online purchases only, not available in store, and not available in conjunction with any other sale or offer.

Edit: i think the coupon code is universal. and i think the expiry date is 31st july. :D

  • Is it same coupon for everyone? Mine is 6 characters ending in U

    • I'm getting 6 characters ending in U as well. Starts with C

    • +2

      Yep, seems same for all…

    • Mine ends in "U" as well. So perhaps.

    • I think it is the same, and it does not work….

    • Doesn't seem to be working :(

      • +4

        you need to login

      • Ah, that makes sense. Cheers buddy :)

Not sure people should be writing out the coupon code- it's a good deal for those who need it and we don't want Teds pulling the code.

If you really want the code, do the survey (which takes a few mins max), fill in some fairly legitimate answers and it'll benefit everyone.

    • I doubt they will pull the code. The only viable option would be for them to verify it against email addresses collected in the survey. Besides, with their usual mark-up they'd still make a small profit even with the discount.

either way..50 off ridiculously overpriced cameras dosent tempt me..better off with an ebay 20% off

        • oh, where do you get them so much cheaper? If take $50 off an Olympus OMD EM10 ii it's cheaper than anywhere else… (without a 20% ebay sale)

        • +2

Better off with eBay 20% + Fujifilm $200 cashback + TRS. Have to wait til end year though…

        • +1

          @Ntsh:

agree with Ntsh, and pay with coles cc and get the price protection on the next ebay/ted 20% off ;)

          $50 ted's gift card with e-m10 ii + kit purchase until 29/05

        • +2

          @Zackyis:
such a ridiculous argument… oh it's cheaper at the end of the year?! It's also cheaper if someone gives it to me, if it was last year when the $AUD was stronger…

          Where is it cheaper now??

        • @Ntsh: Gerry had it cheaper thats where I got mine, but a new lens for the baby will do just nicely.

Don't think they'll pull the code either, but it doesn't take much effort to fill in a short survey.

I'm sensing a growing sense of entitlement in OzB where people expect amazing deals without feeling they should need to do any work at all. And if it's not up to their 'standards' for a deal then the poster is cut down and hounded.

Regardless of their prices, some people may benefit from this. Missus recently bought a camera from Teds since they were on par with other Australian stockists, so a $50 discount would've been better than none.

        • +7

You're right about the sense of entitlement there. The worst offenders are those who nit-pick on posts and leave rude comments without themselves contributing anything to the site. Whilst not everyone has the knack or the time to submit good deals, the least they could do is to show appreciation to those who have made the effort.

        • +1

          @EarlyBird: nitpick requires no hyphen

        • @tomkun01:
" The Oxford English Dictionary records it first only in 1951, in the form nit-picker, in this helpful explanation from Collier’s: “Two long-time Pentagon stand-bys are fly-speckers and nit-pickers. The first of these nouns refers to people whose sole occupation seems to be studying papers in the hope of finding flaws in the writing, rather than making any effort to improve the thought or meaning; nit-pickers are those who quarrel with trivialities of expression and meaning, but who usually end up without making concrete or justified suggestions for improvement”. The first of these two slang terms has died out, with the second taking on much of its meaning."

Now will you stop the nit-picking? ;-)

        • @EarlyBird: You need peepers

Peepers – A slang word used to describe glasses in the 1950’s. I.e. “Hey, take a look at that nerd with those massive peepers on his face!”

        • @tomkun01:

          Stop nitpicking at people's grammar, tomkun01! ;)

  • +2

I was wrong it is valid, you need to login

  • Can you stack it with the 10% members deal?

    • +1

That would be awesome if it did… and then if they could give me valid excuse to pass on to the other half as to why I'm spending more money on camera gear :P

    • +2

The 10% ClubTed deal (on accessories of selected brands) is for in-store purchases only, whereas this $50 discount coupon is for online purchases only.

  • CT504U as well

  • +3

    those prices tho..yeowch

  • does it have to be one item cost more than 200?

  • There was a similar deal last year or early this year. Where you got $50 voucher. I picked up a Fuji 27mm which was $250 at Ted's. Take $50 off for voucher and then $100 Fuji cash back and it was a bargain for $100.

  • Let's try their price matching policy…

    • +1

let me know how you go

      • Wow! That is a cracking price! I can't actually match that, the best I can do for the Nikon AF-S 35mm f1.8G DX is $236.00.

        lolz

        • lol

        • +1

I tried to price match with Teds few times before. They've never price matched and they all come up with generic reply. and usually $10 off their store price..

  • Thanks OP! Just saw this. Anyone else also sign up to be a ClubTed member? I just tried as it seems you get another $10 off your first purchase. Wondering if any has been able to stack these?

  • +1

Thanks OP - looking to get a new tripod from Teds so this is perfect

  • +3

Any bargains around $200? All seems overpriced.

    • +2

shhh…i said that before and got crucified

      • God bless you…

    • This is good for lenses. Like the canon nifty 50 or sigma m43s which retail for about 200

If you can't spot the bargain then just move along

      • Not much lenses for Sony, I'll give a miss.

  • +1

Their website looks exactly like dicksmiths…. the designer should be shot

    • +2

      shot by camera?

      • +1

        A film camera. Then Drowned.

        • drowned in chemicals?

        • +1

@cpho: Drowned in whatever you find in a dark room.

    • Why all the hate for the good old Dick Smith website? Presumably it's just the colours, right?

  • +2

I received this error: "Coupon code "CT504U" is not valid."
I was trying to buy Canon 430EXIII-RT (https://www.teds.com.au/canon-speedlite-430ex-iii-flash-eta-…).
It's the cheapest at the moment if the coupon works

Edit: NVM, you need to register and log in first to apply the coupon.

  • +1

Thanks for posting this deal. Very timely as I am in need of a camera / video urgently, every little discount helps.

  • +4

100 votes and no bargain posted

    • Yeah it seemed all pretty expensive. Definitely nothing well priced for Olympus.

  • Just got a Joby gorillapod focus with ball head for $165! Lower than other Aus stockist looking at staticice :)

  • Ted's currently has a "GST-Free" sale on selected products.

  • Is this still working?

I've logged into my TEDS account and still cannot get the code to work. ERROR: Coupon code "CT504U" is not valid.

    • Was working as of 12pm today, maybe try with another account? (Once the code is applied for one account, you can't use it again for another purchase on the same account)

  • I did the survey and get the code. Now it's saying Coupon code "CT504U" is not valid.

    • Same here. I did the survey but can't use the code, and I am logged in.

Wasn't it supposed to expire on 31 July?

  • EXPIRED.

  • Yeah, spoke to TEDs… the code got OzBargain'd…

    • Wasn't it supposed to expire on 31 July?

Same here. I did the survey but can't use the code, and I am logged in.

      • Yeah but they pulled it due to 'abuse'. If you completed the survey and have the email I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out - I've always had good experiences with Teds
