Collectibles items to buy for newborn baby as keepsake

Hi there, I would like to collect some comment to consider on what should you buy your newborn baby for his/her keepsake or birth memory. I would prefer to have year specific rare items which hopefully appreciate in value and become a great investment in the future and be kept forever by the baby.

Some things I have in mind currently
1. Krugerrand gold coins or Perth minth
2. Penfold grange, but I will need to buy this later after they release 2016 batch

I really need more ideas. I an willing to spend money as this will be heirloom or keepsake investment.

No investment or share or other investment vehicles as this will be done separately anyway.

      A real collectors item, newspapers may not exist in the future.

    Most 'collectibles' are made in the tens of thousands if not more. Hardly collectible. Try looking up things from your year of birth to give you an idea of the value/depreciation of such items. Remember to factor inflation in.

    Probably worth considering items of more sentimental value, keepsakes from the day of birth or clothing items worn. Probably have more meaning than a retail bought item that anyone can purchase.

      That is my purposes, real collector items when bought nearer to the production year will cost significantly less than after it become sought after. The ten of thousand prices that you mentioned usually happens after the items become rare and sought after

    Is it this year, maybe something sporting that could also go on the wall. A replica Olympic Torch. Team Signed Guernsey or one of those Cricket limited edition type things.
    Stuff may or may not become collectors item only time will tell but no reason it can't be cool on it's own.
    Limited Edition or just premium Guitar. Actual Cinema posters from movies released that year.
    Maybe in 20 years we'll have new superpowers and it will be Chinese and Bollywood stuff that's the best investment.

      Thank you for the input. I never think of limited edition musical instruments or sporting gears. Will look at those
