VisionDirect.com (Contact Lenses) 35% off + 14% Cashback via Topcashback

35NEW

Was looking for the best deal on contact lenses and this one seemed pretty good. Eligibility for health fund rebates is not important to me - just the lowest price inclusive of shipping.

Topcashback gives a code "35NEW" for 35% off at VisionDirect - who sell all major brands of lenses, with flat rate international shipping of $20 USD. This is better than their usual 25% voucher.

There are also other savings:

  • If you buy 4 boxes of lenses you get a discount.

  • Topcashback has cashback of 14%. This can be combined with the 35% code.

  • Signing up (by referral) a Topcashback account and earning $10 USD cashback gives a $5 USD Amazon voucher. 14% cashback on a lens order should easily unlock this.

An example order:

  • 4x boxes of 6 Biofinity monthly lenses @ $28.99 USD = $115.96 USD
  • After 35% code and including postage of $20 USD = $95.37 USD

= $23.84 USD per box (~$33.58 AUD @ 0.71 rate)

If you factor in $11 USD cashback (paid as Paypal or Amazon credit with 3% bonus) & $5 USD Amazon voucher it costs ~$27 AUD shipped per box of 6 lenses - which is pretty cheap.

  • This only works with Vision Direct US and won't work with Vision Direct AU. Vision Direct US won't be covered by Aussie Health Insurance.

  • Yes. They are different sites - i am talking about visiondirect.com.

I did mention that i wasn't considering health insurance - just price.

If you can do better please post details - i am always looking for the best deals on contacts as it is a yearly purchase for me.

    I would stick with Specsavers

They have a current offer: Specsavers Get $50 off When You Spend $149 on All Contact Lenses

Plus you can claim on your health fund.

e.g. Specsavers Biofinity $35 for a box of 3 is terrible value - even after that discount it's almost $50 per box of 6.

And no health fund here - so of no value.

      • Many of us have health funds to avoid the Medicare Levy Surcharge. Health rebates for Optical average at $250 and some up to $350

I've been wearing contacts for over 7 years and i do NOT recommend monthly for hygiene purposes. Daily disposables are the way to go and they have a lower risk of conjunctivitis.

        • All the dailies I tried irritated my eyes far too much. Never had any issues whatsoever - but I only wear my lenses a few hours a day for sport. As always YMMV.

RE: health insurance.. well what can I say.. I don't have this. I still think those in my situation deserve a bargain though (and would be interested if anyone can do better).

      • Well it certainly is of no value to me.. how can paying almost double the price be a good deal?

If you have a health fund by all means go for it however.
