        I wish I was 16 again…so I could get the free roadside assistance ;-)

        • Do you really? Would you be that age again just for this deal? I sure wouldn't.

          @Putnum:
Best memories mate…forget the roadside assistance!

"She was only sixteen, only sixteen
          But I loved her so
But she was too young to fall in love
And I was too young to know

We'd laugh and we'd sing and do funny things
And it made our hearts glow
But she was too young to fall in love
And I was too young to know"

@maxi: I prefer to have money and a house of my own 😀

        • @Putnum: You can do that at the age of 16. Just ask for another wish to have wealthy parents.

        • @Putnum:
No way mate…no money or house can beat only sixteen.
May be… you are only 20ish…?

        • @maxi:
Just turned 31 and have a baby, never been happier.

racq is the same for qld, Free to Go.
plus after it expires the next years full breakdown service is half price etc.
so maybe add Qld to the title as well.

      • so is this post a dupe?

        • +1

Old one is marked expired way back.

        • Only if it's 2014 ;-)

      • Check current details for your State.

When RACQ attend schools to do promos to year 12 students they hand all the paperwork out on the spot. It's a real win - win for new drivers and is a leg up for the club as well.

      • not sure if it happened at my sons school but we did it when we went to racq to get our free L/P plate signs.
store person told us all about it.
pity racq has closed all the stores.

pity racq has closed all the stores

Not so - walked past the Carindale store last night. I think stores are operated by different breakdown service contractors to RACQ, so will differ by region.

Please keep in mind after you turn 21 they WILL call you to ask for renewal and immediately ask for credit card/debit card details.
Just say you already have roadside assistance with your current insurance provider, and if they say "you get free roadside assistance even if you're not in your car", just say you don't travel in anyone else's car.

    • if they say "you get free roadside assistance even if you're not in your car", just say you don't travel in anyone else's car.

Or why not say no not interested? Instead of fabricating stories that achieve what?

  • Do u need to have a drivers license to get this deal? Can u just be 17 and get driven around by parents and avail this?

I joined when I was 16, and now I am 21 and they are still pestering me even though I have told them to stop contacting me in regards to renewal!!!

Avoid applying unless you are a regular driver and would use this benefit.

  • I never got this when I was 16-20 sigh I guess you guys had to put up with 120-150 driving hours or whatever it is while I got away with 50.
