Tommy Swiss EOFY Mattress Clearance - King Mattress $299.00 shipped etc.

60
EOFY123

Seems like Tommy Swiss are having a clearance sale on their mattresses and some include free shipping, e.g.:

King size from the Cooper collection for $299 with free shipping http://www.tommyswiss.com/au/mattress-pocket-spring-latex-ki…
King size from the Stamford collection for $199 + shipping http://www.tommyswiss.com/au/king-mattress-latex.html
etc.

The coupon code EOFY123 which came in my e-mail is supposed to offer a further 10% discount but it's not working for me, seeing as I don't plan to purchase anything, I didn't chase them up about it, so feel free to follow it up with them.

Make sure you read these reviews first before you place your order.

No deals! I wouldn't paid a dollar for these crappy mattresses.

  • I bought in December 2015, a Queen mattress/Bed frame and an arm chair from Tommy Swiss
Mattress was good, and still fine now, must of had good luck compared to the reviews at productreview
Bed Frame, didn't have instructions and was missing something required to fully assemble it. Arm chair was wobbly as well though it came with a adjustable leg

As those other reviews, the customer service had a lot to be desired. They were nice enough on the phone but didn't really give reasonable solutions to the problems I had above

In the end a trip to bunnings fixed everything, and all the product is NOW good, can't say the experience was hassle free though

Previously I heard about Tommy swiss from a mate, where he bought like 5 mattresses for the family, and no problems there. I just assumed I had bad luck. But reading the reviews from PW, I feel I got away good

    • You shouldn't have to feel that way.

I'm not sure why anyone would skimp on a mattress, seeing as you use it for 6-8 hours a day: having a good restful and painless sleep makes a huge difference in your life - you don't want to wake up with a sore back, shoulders, etc when sleep is supposed to be recuperative.

It's not so much skimping as being ripped off as per the above linked SMH article. We went though this back in April and ended up buying a mattress and base from an online retailer with 100 day trial. We paid about $1500 ish for the mattress and it feels (to me) about the equivalent of a 5k store mattress. If we don't like it, after 100 days they will come and pick it up and give us a refund. Pretty sure you can't do that with a store bought one?

        • hi, what company did you end up choosing. looking at the greying or ozmattress. not sure if going without springs is good or not.

        • @gdbaker81:Ended up with Sleeping Duck, medium/firm. They will send you out a different firmness layer for free after a few weeks if required. It is quite comfy and my only complaint at this point is that is quite warm. I am a hot sleeper though so that might not be a problem for others. I have spoken to them and they are 'working' on some kind of solution. It's OK at the moment though as once the night temperature dropped to around 15c and lower the mattress is the perfect temperature. :)

        • @EightImmortals: thanks for the info. I'm a hot sleeper as well. so I might look into them some more.
