man the feels when I bought something yesterday at 11pm for $200 and missed out by an hour.

    • +1

      You mean

      11hours?

The offer will commence at 10.00 (AEST) on 28 June 2016

  • If you get a friend to put up an item for $200 buy it now the fees are $22 or something. That for a $50 voucher. Anyone going down that route?

    • +5

      $28 profit? Do it 10000 times get $280,000 ??

      • +1

With 10000 accounts? And still, you get $50 to spend on 10000 transaction, not $280,000.

    • +1

Don't do that. Its the 0.1% who do this that ruin it for everyone else.

  • +1

anyone used the APPY15 code with the $200 spend yet? Any confirmation that you will still qualify for the $50 voucher?

    • we got 3 x appy15 vouchers. it's a shame they don't stack.

  • What would happen if I bought something, received the $50 voucher, spent the voucher, then returned the original item I bought? I obviously don't intend to deliberately do that, just wondering.

    • +1

-$50 on your Paypal account ?

    • 19.In the event you return or seek a refund on any item purchased using a voucher, the value of the voucher will not be refunded to you.

      • Yeh I read that too, but I'm talking about a refund on the original purchase, not the subsequent purchase on the voucher.

        • ebay gets full refund from seller, keeps $50 (voucher value), gives you whats left.

        • Take it INTO store if the have a store and get store credit rather than ebay refund….loophole?

        • @lovepub: refunds are paid back into how you paid your item. paypal

  • Anyone know if my purchase with the $50 voucher has to be in AUD or can it be in used with a different currency? Also is the voucher a one time use or use it till the $50 is all used

    • +1

it can be different currency but the whole transaction has to be in the same currency.

Also is the voucher a one time use or use it till the $50 is all used

it will be use it up once of course.

      • Just had to make sure haha. Thank you very much!

  • +1

Just spoke to Customer care on Ebay and they have clearly said you cannot use the Groupon Ebay voucher!!

    • Isnt the voucher just like cash $100?

      1. 16 - Not to be used in conjunction with any other eBay coupon/voucher.

      hmmmmm

    • Then the T&C of this deal and the groupon voucher is misleading and false advertising. No where does ebay mention offer not valid with use of discount coupons/codes. no where does groupon voucher mention invalided in conjunction with any other OFFERS (only other discount codes/vouchers). Its worded quite clearly that to quality for this offer you only need to purchase $200 worth of goods in a single transaction.

So the voucher you receive in this OFFER cant be used with your groupon voucher. the keyword is OFFER.

    • Just buy from those ebay stores you can easily return. Forget about what everyone says about the Groupon $100 vouchers. Worst case if they don't give you the $50, go straight to refund the item.

      • -1

        I hate refunds

        • That's for the worst case scenario. Groupon voucher is just another form of payment. They are not just anybody's coupon code, I doubt we need to do refunds anyway. I just bought $200 from Myer ebay using groupon voucher. Won't be long before they raise the price. Better act quick than talking to ebay rep.

      • Worst case is the $100 Groupon voucher is not refunded.

        • Got the tax invice from Myer. They have no idea you are using Groupon vouchers or any ebay promotion. It shows just the Total.

  • +1

Damn! Just bought an SP3 day before yesterday!! Damn!!

  • Can I purchase an item listed on the Ebay USA site … pay for it in USD … and as long as the amount converts to over 200 AUD … still get the $50 voucher?

    • +1

To be eligible to receive the $50 eBay voucher, you must make a purchase of $200 or more on eBay.com.au during the Offer Period.

      • +1

So … as long as I make the purchase from the ebay.com.au site it doesn't matter where the item is located, or what currency I pay with.

        • +1

          Correct

        • @Turd: Thanks

        • @thunderduck:
If you purchase more than one item, ideally it should be the same currency in the cart.

        • I'd say the item needs to be searchable with Item location set to Default. If set to Worldwide searches include all ebay sites, not just ebay.com.au.

  • Judging from peoples past experiences with Ebay Offers can anyone answer this…
If I 'buy now' item(s) that total over $200 within the 'offer period' but don't actually pay until a couple days later (outside the offer period) would I still be eligible? Reason I'm asking is i'm waiting for my commbank card with the cash back offer to come in the mail and would rather wait and put the transaction on that card but it may not arrive in time…

    • +2

you actually have to pay for it before the end of the promotion period

      • Say I bought the item and paid with bank transfer via Paypal but the funds were transferred on or after 30th June, would I still be eligible for the voucher?

  • +3

Was browsing through Dell's items. LOL @ The RRP of $319 and now it's exactly $50 MORE at $369…HMMMMMMM

    pretty clever boffins, Ebay.
They're sending out the vouchers gradually 10 days from now, giving themselves plenty of time to check suspect transactions from the sons of BBQ Tom

Please be that you cant use any voucher with this promotion offer you need to buy an item for $200 without any voucher"

      • +5

Seems like like AU immigration, laws seem to differ based on who you speak to

  • Awesome! Just used my ebay voucher code "appy15" to buy the ps4 1TB + Uncharted 4 bundle from kogan @ $434 and will recieve a $50 voucher for maybe another game :) Thanks!

    • Why not app25? What is the difference in requirement to use the code ?

      • Seems to be targeted.

      • I got a message from ebay in my account with only the 15 :(, I didn't get the 25 :(

    • I'm an idiot, i don't think this deal works with kogan.. no $50 voucher for me :( the whole "anything you like" had me fooled haha

      • Do you mean Kogan or the Kogan ebay store ?

        • kogan ebay store - AFTER i bought the ps4 (lol) i clicked on the $50 voucher promotion link, and underneath it has "Search Participating Retailers", i searched for it, and it would appear only target's ps4 game up!

        • +2

Reckon you will be OK, nowhere in the terms and conditions does it mention specific retailers, all it says is

"To be eligible to receive the $50 eBay voucher, you must make a purchase of $200 or more on eBay.com.au during the Offer Period."

        • -1

          @patchyz:
You'd be better off cancelling, and re-purchasing NOT using a voucher as this exludes you from receiving $50.

  • Online chat just said the offer is only valid until 29th June

    • ghahahahhaag

  • Hi
Does anyone know whether the $200 includes shipping in the total or just item amount excl shipping?
    Thanks!

    • excluding shipping.

  • APPY15 can be stacked - just need to spend $215

    • Can it be stacked with groupon voucher ?

      • According to the T&Cs above, no:

Not to be used in conjunction with any other eBay coupon/voucher.

    • How do you know this? There have been conflicting reports.

      • No body knows for sure about Groupon $100. But unless you have a groupon waiting, there is no time for you to order one now and receive it before the deal expired.

The groupon is not a generic public discount code. It is just another form of payment with real money value stoted inside. If you buy $200 thing and pay $100 with groupon and the rest with paypal, you most likely will get that $50.

        • how long does it take groupon to deliver the coupon? in past experiences with other groupons it was almost instant, not sure about the eBay one though.

        • @lplau: you will be lucky to get it after the 2 days.

    • Sorry, no.

    • *Source: Ebay rep via facebook chat

  • Can anyone help with clarification of a few things - so many conflicting and confusing posts on here… indicative of eBay's lack of transparency in past promotions I guess.

Ok I don't see an exclusion for tickets and gift cards in this one. Am I missing something? Normally it has a list of excluded items/categories and I do not see it in the T&C this time.

Second someone earlier was saying it had to be an exactly $200 purchase and the voucher $50 had to be spent on something exactly $50? Surely not the case?

Third - someone else is claiming it only applies to certain eBay stores - says Kogan is excluded - is this correct because I don't see any evidence of this.

    Thanks in advance

    • +1

I can't help you with the rest of your other enquiries, but the place where you've mentioned the amount of purchase & the usage of the voucher, the second bullet point says:

To be eligible to receive the $50 eBay voucher, you must make a purchase of $200 or more on eBay.com.au during the Offer Period.
This offer is only available to registered

So, no, it doesn't have to be exactly $200. Two hundred bucks and above is how I understood it.

And about the use of the voucher, the seventh bullet point clarifies it:

The voucher entitles you up to $50 off the total purchase price for one transaction on eBay.com.au.

      • What if its $190+$11 post, does it need to be $200 purchase or can the total be over $200 incl ship?

        • +1

T&Cs don't specify, though in previous deals postage has been excluded from calculations.

No-one will know definitively until the vouchers are issued on 8 July so I would suggest not risking it and making sure the cart is $200+

        • @PBG: True

        • I second PBG. Better be safe than sorry. I would rather add one small, useful item into my cart just to reach the $200 mark, than risk it.

  • Can one paypal account be used to pay for 2 accounts to get 2x$50. Because both my wife and myself have an ebay account each, but we use the same paypal account.

    • pretty sure last time it was two separate PayPal accounts

    • Your paypal email address needs to match your ebay email address. So no. Just create another paypal account.

  • +1

Btw just letting y'all know that I've tried but that Appy15/25 code and the Groupon/eBay $100 voucher do not seem to stack. Only one of them can be used at a time.

    • +2

Btw just letting y'all know that I've tried but that Appy15/25 code and the Groupon/eBay $100 voucher do not seem to stack. Only one of them can be used at a time.

You've never been able to stack codes on eBay.

      • Yeah but I was thinking that the Groupon one was more of a gift voucher than a discount code. Doesn't look like that's the case.

  • Can someone please confirm that you can buy from any seller and not from participating sellers only? Also, can I apply APPY15 code when buying and still get $50 voucher?

Purchase price is $279 (Samsung Gear Fit 2) so it should work at least in theory?

    • Also, can I apply APPY15 code when buying and still get $50 voucher? - Yes (Source: ebay rep/facebook).

      • Take a screenshot of the ebay rep / facebook post or a screenshot of the conversation, and if you do not get the voucher later, then send them the screenshot and they will most likely just manually apply the voucher to your account.

I've had a similar issue before but it was for something else, and they just got the marketing team to apply the voucher manually to your account.

    • OK, contacted eBay myself and rep said no, if you apply APPY15 code you won't get $50 voucher.

He confirmed you can buy from any seller though.

      • Thats strange a rep told me it's all good and as long as $200 is spent you will get it. Even told me to spend $215 to make sure you get it once code is applied!

        • Yeah, no idea who is right.

Would be stupid to apply $15 discount, but not to get $50 voucher, don't know what to do :(

        • @raspudala: That's true. I have mine in writing and they did ask me for my username, email and name before confirming anything. So, If i don't get the voucher I will email them with the confirmation they gave me and hold then to ransom!! :)

      • The rep I just spoke to on chat said no also.

  • +1

Are we able to buy from different sellers?

    • I just read the whole thread and am still not sure. Anyone?

    • +1

Yes, should be able to. Just add all to cart / win multiple auctions and pay at once.

      • this is one thing i am not sure. the wording seems to mention A purchase of 200 or more. i was going to pull the trigger on multiple items but now i am not sure

        • I will be, just winning a few auctions now and adding them as I go over the next 24 hours.

        • +1

@banzini: this is going to be a long night…

  • +5

I sent message on Facebook page of eBay and this is the reply from them.

As per the reply we can use AAPY25 / APPY15 code and get the benefit of both the offers.

    • +1

Same here, this is what I have been told.
