  • Still waiting myself, I contacted support and was told I would be getting it by the end of today… Tick tock eBay!

  • Got mine around 5:01pm AEST.

    • Got mine at 5pm on the dot

  • Are folks getting them as emails or appearing in their My Ebay Summary?

Nothing here and not sure how I can test if I got the voucher. I don't want to click Buy It Now on something and get to checkout and then find for whatever reason it wasn't awarded…

    • +1

Received email. Nothing in my ebay summary.

      • Thanks for letting me know

    • +1

I don't want to click Buy It Now on something and get to checkout and then find for whatever reason it wasn't awarded…

With eBay you can also "add to cart" on non-auction items. This is like a normal online checkout experience so you can go through and try promo codes in the checkout without committing to a purchase. Just find something worth a hundred dollars and add it to your cart then test if your code is working.

      • If you receive a email with your $50 voucher code then there would be no reason to doubt it wouldn't work at the checkout. That said they do seem a little slow sending these email vouchers (haven't got mine yet). I'd say most people should see the email in their inbox by tomorrow morning.

        • +1

This is for people who haven't received the email to check if they have been marked as eligible for the code.

  • Is everyone getting that same code - C50MORE?

    • Yes, but they have to activate it on your account so not everyone can use it.

  • I haven't got email from eBay yet, anyone else in the same boat?

    • +1

Haven't got email but tested code as per PBGs comment above and works :)

    • Haven't got mine as well. Bought mine at 11.50pm on the 30th and paid cash on pickup on the 2nd so not sure if it's because of that

      • Same here :(

      • +1

i think you had to pay via paypal to qualify

        edit:
"13. The redemption code requires payment with an Australian or New Zealand PayPal account in order to take effect."

        • Negative. I had the same situation, had a chat with an eBay rep last night, and he says I'm eligible for the voucher

  • just had a chat online with ebay and apparently there is an escelated technical issue with rolling the code out to all accounts elligable and sending emails. i certainly couldnt get the code to work nor have i received notice.

    • Pretty poor effort - they should have tested this thoroughly.

Thanks for the update though. Still no code or email here either but I've actually used it now anyway.

    • After another online chat, since i still havent received the voucher or email i get this :

"Please be informed that if you are eligible for the voucher and fulfilled the terms and conditions the marketing team will submit the credit request and you will get that in 10-15 working days."

      Seriously

Maybe we should have a poll to see who can remember the last ebay campaign that wasnt a c*ck up!

  • CHECK YOUR JUNK EMAILS! my $50 voucher email from eBay somehow got marked as JUNK! It was in my junk inbox folder so your email could be there too (Not your ebay messages but actual email account linked with ebay).

It was received yesterday at 5:01pm AEST code C50MORE. Even though I have the email nothing appears in my ebay summary. I'd say most people should have their voucher email sent to them by now just check your junk inbox! Even if you don't you can test the code as stated above by PBG^^^

    • I check and clear my spam every day - nothing.

      • Still no email but finally turned up in my account - marked as redeemed unfortunately :-)

  • +2

$50 voucher now shows up at the bottom of my ebay summary and when viewing items says "save $50 show me how".

    • Thanks I just searched for vouchers and found it right at the bottom not sure if i got the email though.

Now just need to decide what to buy

Just that product I bought, Pago NeoMesh chair, was on clearance like the day after I bought it. The clearance price was $62 off.. so you can't really win ><

  • Been told by ebay that I cant buy a product through ebay AU priced in USD, can anybody confirm ?

    • I wouldnt be suprised thats the issue i have also. Problem is they are listed as ebay AU seller and i dont remember seeing that in any T&C (not to say it doesnt exist).

      • Number 23 in the T&C`s as I have been just informed by live chat.

        • that only says all monetarys amounts referred to are in AUD - in doesnt specifically state that all sales must be listed in AUD and purchased in AUD … everyone with an ebay/paypal AU account will be paying in AUD. sounds like a cop out to me - exteremely vague.

        • I thought the same as you but the ebay guy told me it has to be bought in AUD.
Below is answer I got from ebay.

Please check the terms and conditions carefully, it is mentioned there. All monetary amounts specified in this terms and conditions are in Australian dollars (AUD) unless expressly stated otherwise.

Please be informed that the voucher has been derived with the consent of eBay and Australian seller, so it will only apply on the AUD.

Please see T&C 23, you will get the clarification.

    • Is this for the initial purchase that qualified you, or using the voucher?

I just finished online chat with eBay, they told me a credit would be applied to my paypal account within 10-15 days. My original purchase was from US, although I used PayPal conversion to pay in AUD. They didn't explain any of it though, just told me that they would forward the credit through, or something to that effect.

  • I have not got any e-mail and voucher code in my ebay account but I tested the code and it worked!

After that I log off and log back in and the code shows in my ebay account.
    Worth to try it.

  • tried the code, it works , but if u log in through cashrewards, the code doesn't work

  • anyone used the code appy15/appy25 and got their $50 voucher?

    • +1

      everyone i think.

  • ooh so annoyed right now.

Didnt get the $50 credit, spoke to ebay, they told me would be there on the 9TH.. it wasnt!

Spoke to ebay again, they told me, if i buy something and tell them the number they will credit it - THEY DIDNT!

Spoke to ebay, told that i will get a credit from the "marketing Dept"… in 10 - 15 DAYS —- JOKE

    • Spoke, or emailed/messaged? I only contact eBay via email so I can have a written copy of what they tell me, for future reference. And if I ever do speak to anyone on the phone (from pretty much any organisation) I ask for their name or staff number - helps keep them honest and following through with what they promise.

  • Yep, bought something on eBay.com.au and paid in USD. No email from eBay and C50MORE doesn't work. What a scam…

    • -3

Pretty sure someone else on here mentioned the USD exclusion being in the T&Cs - pays to read them sometimes.

      • Pretty sure you're wrong. I purchased in USD, eBay rep said it's eligible but they're having technical difficulties activating the voucher.

        • -1

Wrong about what? That another ozbargainer mentioned USD purchases being excluded by T&C's? See Bargin Boy's posts.
Or that it pays to read the T&C's sometimes?

Here's the (admittedly vague) point 23 of the T&C's:

"23. All monetary amounts specified in this terms and conditions are in Australian dollars (AUD) unless expressly stated otherwise."

If I'd read that, I'd be hesitant to make a purchase in USD before getting written clarification from eBay first.

Hopefully it is just a technical issue and those who purchased in USD still receive the voucher. But for others to call this a scam is an overreaction IMO.

        • +2

I think that clause just means the $200 and $50 is denominated in aud.

        • +1

the garble i got today is that the are offering $50 credit. you purchase and item and tell them the item number and they will credit you the $50 (upto 15 days wait). this is for transactions made through AU ebay with foreign currency value converted over $200.

what gets me is they are trying to blame the consumer when its their error - they have not clearly defined in there T&C that the item can not be a foreign currency converted - all they said is all values referred to are in AUD. why they would put themselves in this position is beyond me but the obviously realise they have to honour it else they wouldnt be offering the $50 credit.

        • I was told my previous USD purchase for the voucher was ok, but my voucher purchase must be in AUD.

        • The story I got was the vouchers are system generated and cannot be manually applied, so it seems purchases made in a foreign currency didn't get pick up by the system. They will provide a $50 credit though if you make a purchase before 31/8.

        • @BiotBargin: I don't think their marketing team run the T&C's past their legal team before publishing!
eBay recently ran another promotion where the reward was a $20 voucher; however in their T&C's they said the reward was a $100 voucher. I signed up based on this, screen grabbed the T&C's and then fulfilled the criteria.
A few days later, the T&C's had been updated to say the reward was a $20 voucher as they had originally intended.

        • @djlee: I think it does too, however it seems eBay are telling different things to different people.

    • +1

      call ACCCC!

  • +1

Didnt get any email about it. they just put the coupon right at the bottom of the "My Ebay Summary" page.

  • +2

Got the email as i said before. Now its also showing at the bottom of my ebay summary.

  • Anyone still hasn't got theirs? No email, also tried the code and wouldn't work

    • I haven't got mine yet.

EDIT: I never got an email about it but the voucher is appearing at the bottom of my ebay summary.

  • I never got email and it never appeared in my eBay. But I was still able to use

  • Still havent got it.. still waiting to hear from them after my online chat and request they contact me.

TBH this is pathetic, they have promised and not fulfilled

  • +1

Found mine at the bottom of my eBay Summary Page under a section called 'Vouchers'

  • So did anyone use the $100 Groupon Voucher and ended up getting the $50 voucher? I personally decided it wasn't worth the risk, so I paid in cash and received the $50 voucher just fine.

    • +1

I did, my item was >$300, so PayPal was >$200.

    • +2

      I did. Worked a treat!

  • Same as Hoji for me:

I never got email and it never appeared in my eBay. But I was still able to use

  • Never got the voucher.

eBay responded with the "make a purchase and we'll credit you in 10-15 days". Purchase must be more than $50 excluding postage.

Question for those that were able to use C50MORE: were you able to use the $50 towards postage?

    • Same response was given to me.

The $50+ purchase has to be via ebay.com.au

    • +2

Yes, I was able to use the $50 voucher towards postage. I used the $50 voucher on a $50.02 purchase that includes about $7 in postage

      • Thanks for the info. Now to chase up eBay to include postage with this credit.

        • eBay's (profanity).

They are insisting that I must make a purchase of $50 before postage in order for them to apply the credit.

I don't understand why they would arbitrarily impose further penalties on those already inconvenienced by their screwup.

        • +1

          @bobjane:

Ended up calling them and hopefully it's sorted now and the $50 will be applied towards postage. Guess I'll know in 10-15 business days.

Was also told that the reason I didn't get the voucher was because I used APPLY15 on the $200+ purchase. Despite eBay telling many people in this thread that you could.

eBay's just horrible to deal with.

        • +2

          @bobjane:

Man I used the APPY thing and still got the code working fine… I think their customer service knows jack all to be honest, they're little more than robots.

"I understand you have a problem with ____. Is that correct?"

        • +1

          @bobjane:

Was also told that the reason I didn't get the voucher was because I used APPLY15 on the $200+ purchase.

Yeah that's rubbish. I used the APPLY15 code and have got the voucher showing in My eBay summary.

        • +2

          @Hoju:
Their livechat support staff are no more than trained monkeys. Looks like each person is serving many chat windows at the same time (or just not grasping the language). It takes them 3 minutes to reply to one sentence. Waste of time.

        • Got my $50 paypal from ebay today For a $22 + $29 postage purchase.

If they try to tell you that you have to buy $50 excluding postage, call them up and tell them to shove it.

  • +2

It was hard enough to get $200 worth of stuff I want to buy.

Now another $50 not sure what else

  • -2

i got SCAMMED out of my voucher,
i used the voucher to buy 4 items. added to cart all 4 and checkout at the same time. using ebay.com.au and only one item came through.
missing the other 3. contacted them and said nothing we can do. only one item went through. we have no record of the other 3.
that item was worth $10, i tried explaining to them. why would i used a $50 voucher on an $10 item. all they said is nothing they can do about it.
    USELESS EBAY!!!

    • same thing happen to me. add 4 items to cart and once paid, only paid 1 item. did ebay do anything ?

      • The interesting part is that 1 purchase was discounted for most and thus I have to pay small part. This is the proof that the payment was made for 3 items and their system has an issue to only pay 1 item which I put on the cart first. I chat with ebay and they promised to credit my paypal with $50 within 10-15 days. I will check my paypal within 15 days and see if they say what they say.

    • This has happened to me twice now.
I actually got my voucher, and went to use it on two items in my cart: $45 and $32. Proceed through paypal payment, and something goes wrong, only $45 item is paid, with $27 discount.
      Lost the remaining $23 discount!!

      • May I ask were the 2 orders in different currencies? eg AUS$ and US$? I had the same issue and I correct it before I paid for it.

        • Nope. 2 items from australian sellers in australian dollars.
The only difference, was that one was an auction that I won, and the other was buy-it-now.

        • @damion: I see. thanks for your reply. Have to be careful next time.

  • Havent got mine yet. Just contacted ebay and was told I didnt get it because my paypal address is different to my ebay registered email address.
Anyway they advised me to buy something over $50 and contact them again afterwards to get a refund.

    • +1

mate, I'm in same boat as you. Livechat rep told me to buy at full price and 'write to us to get the discount afterwards'.
Take it with a MASSIVE grain of salt. I'm in a battle to get that discount back. They wanted 10-20 working days before funds will be credited.
Considering taking it up with Paypal / my bank because agreed discounts shouldn't take this long to apply.

Sorry PBG, a neg vote based on the difficulties in just getting what was promised.

    • +1

      Per the offer T&Cs:

Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay or PayPal) and be registered under the same email address.

  • Any ideas what will happen if i need to return the item I used the voucher on? I am pretty sure I won't get a paypal refund for the $50, but will I get the voucher back? If not I am probably better off just on selling the item.

    • +1

In the event you return or seek a refund on any item purchased using a voucher, the value of the voucher will not be refunded to you.

      • +1

        Thank you :)

  • I been waiting for my voucher, finally contacted ebay and found out my purchase not eliable.

$196 purchased (and $5 for freight) which wasn't part of the $200 purchase total.

I read the T&C on Ozbargain, but not the EBAY one which was different from the one posted here!!!
    GRR Ozbargain!

    • The T&Cs posted above were taken directly from the eBay page and were updated by both myself and mods as the eBay page was changed. There was no discrepancy.

The T&Cs never stipulated whether the $200 needed to exclude postage costs, however in the comments for this deal it was discussed ad nauseum that historically postage is excluded. Even some people on ozbargain discussed with eBay customer support who clearly indicated that the offer would exclude postage.

You can't blame ozbargain for not reading the T&Cs or comments properly

  • Still haven't got mine..

    • +2

I never got mine, but when looking at stuff, there was a comment, something like "Get it $50 cheaper, klick here to learn how".
Unfortunately my CFO found it before I spent it. So I no longer have it as she spent it.

    • have you tried the code: C50MORE

i couldnt find my email but the code worked.

  • Never got a code. Did the online chat, was told to make a purchase of send them the Item number and they will credit my paypal. Which they have confirmed… so fingers crossed in 10-15 business days it all works out.

    • Have you got the refund yet ? They just only bluffing ?

  • +1

Turns out I spent $191 because i forgot postage wasnt included…. on stuff I didn't even need

    • +1

same here apparently… i followed up multiple times with support and was told I would receive a $50 credit in 10-15 days based on an item I wanted to buy using the credit… just contacted support as its day 15 and now all of a sudden they're able to tell me I'm not eligible as I only spent $190 apparently… (profanity) dirty lying basterds… I've now spent about $350 when I thought I'd only be spending $300… (profanity) ebay… I plan on making several calls to their support and ripping some new arseholes…

  • One 25 item from the original 200 Was faulty and was refunded by the seller, this was easy and smooth.
Except then they cancelled my voucher.
Online chat was useless, said 10-15 after going to resolution team.
Took over and hour to get that far.
The response time to questions 2nd answers ibsenr was nauseating.

Also, noticed, if using cash rewrds, then expect issues when using vouchers.

    • Shoulda used the voucher then returned the faulty item!

      • Yep that's what I did. Made sure the communications with the seller were slow enough for the voucher to be used before the cancelled order.

  • +1

Chat again with Ebay (the same person as previous) and asked about the credit. It is just unbelievable that they are saying that I need to tell them that I have purchased the remaining items to make up $50 before they can give the $50 credit in my account. Bloody jerk ! Anybody is on the same boat ? They just give excuse and excuse. Good on you, Ebay ! Now I have to wait another 15 days ! Have to charge them interest !

  • Still not received from Ebay… they are scum, lied about when ill get it and continue to put it off

edit. no issues with my purchase, straightforward above the limit purchase and they have told me 3 different dates that it will go in

  • In the same boat as the people who had to make a $50+ purchase and have eBay issue a credit back to their PayPal account.

I'm still waiting on the credit but have just received the C50MORE email, with the voucher appearing on my Summary page as well. I really hope they're not negating the pending $50 credit and enabling the voucher for people who should have received it weeks ago.

Anyone else yet to receive the credit but have now received their voucher?

  • 2 days ago i spent $100 and then yesterday i noticed it then today i bought something for $120
and used the voucher and it worked

    • So? Did you use the code for the $100 and $120 purchases?
