    • Thanks, but I'm a lady.

      • LADIES AND GENTLEMEN =D

        a fellow canberran I see

    • Good to hear. No update on my end.

      • Same, heard nothing at all so far.

  • Does anyone have an approximate delivery date? When should we expect these to arrive?

    • Mine says shipping out tomorrow

  • PayPal delayed my order because PayPal is shit (that's not a newsflash) but apparently the order is all good and shipping information should be available later today.

  • -1

Now this is looking more and more promising, can anyone recommend what additional accessories to buy? Docking station, more SSD or a hard drive, mouse and keyboard to match?

  • My card was just debited $1 by Lenovo I guess it was for verification purpose.

  • My payment is still pending and on the "old" tracking page, it says released for manufacturing…..I wonder how long do I need to wait for.

    • Mine is expected to ship 25/07 and expected delivery date is 03/08

  • I've had a pending charge on my Credit card through PayPal of $899 when ordered. Still hasn't changed..
And my tracking page still says 'ordered'

    • on that page click on the blue arrow to the right and see how you go

      • Oh thanks.
Seems it was released for manufacturing only a couple hours after the order was placed.

        • +1

          Mine shows the same.

I called Lenovo and was told my order didn't drop to manufacturing until Tuesday night and that I should have a shipping date tonight or tomorrow. If not, she said to call back.

        • Lucky you. Mine didnt start till the next day =) Keep us updated on your shipping updates

  • Got email regarding shipping confirmation!

    • So did I..I ordered on Friday night though

  • Yep it's happening…mine's gonna arrive 3/08 :D

  • Ordered on monday morning and just got shipping date for 25 july and delivery date 3 august.

    • Same here! No email yet, but the tracking website has updated.

On a side note, this is my first time ordering from Lenovo and their online ordering process is not customer friendly at all.

  • 4 laptops expected to ship 22/07, arrive 02/08 =D

    • I got the same update!

    • Got the same update too

  • Just got a shipping date of 22/7 with delivery due 3/8.
I wonder where it's coming from lol.

    • I got the same. Shipping time seems a bit much but at least it's coming!

    • Chengdu or Hefei. It's a bit far.

    • i got the same, its coming from Malaysia i think.

      • That would be Dell…all those MAS Freight stickers on them.

      • Lenovo is based in China.

  • An update from me.

Credit Card: still saying "Purchase Authorisation". Although I bought it with a NAB credit card, they are usually very slow to update the online transactions.
Shipping: Item now has a shipment date of 22/07 (today). But it has not shipped yet.
Status: still saying "released to manufacturing". Which means anything, it's still not built yet. At least the system specs haven't changed (I'm watching this because I don't trust lenovo)

In my estimation… It's still not a sure thing. But it feels very close to happening. At least the orders aren't cancelled yet. Once someone gets an actual shipping confirmation and tracking# it will be pretty certain.

  • Just received email confirmation that it has been shipped (or at least a shipping label has been initiated). Tracking number is invalid at the moment. Estimated delivery is 2 August.

    • Same here.

    • Same :)

  • Shipping confirmation received as well - ordered Monday afternoon.

  • Shipped. Expected arrival 1st August

  • I received a 3 page invoice stating it has been paid and is provided as proof of purchase.

  • It's a great tracking service. My package has just been loaded onto China Airlines Flight MY737 to Melbourne. :-)
At this rate, I should have it in a few days.

  • Does anyone else find it slightly strange that there's virtually no user reviews of this model online? In the last 10 years I've never seen such an absence of feedback on a laptop.

It's also ironic that now my work are apparently giving me a (admittedly older and prob lower specced) lenovo.. lol.

    • I don't find it strange:

      • ThinkPad's are a business laptop (consumers & pro-users don't tend to buy them)
      • There are heaps of ThinkPad models that change all the time… so reviews are spread thinly over many models.
      • At the end of the days it's just commodity hardware anyway (i.e. Intel CPU + Memory + SSD). There really isn't anything unique here to review.

The same comment can be made for Dell Latitude laptops, and HP EliteBook's.

  • Mines made it to Melbourne via Shanghai and Sydney. I expect it will beat the 2nd of August delivery schedule.

  • +3

Mine shows customs clearance, with expected delivery tomorrow

  • +2

Out for delivery today. Thanks for posting OP.

Big thanks to OP, Lenovo and Ozbargain.

I feel my compulsive habbit of refreshing OzBargain 86 times a day has now been justified :D

    • Would you (if used it yet) or anyone else who has used this model be able to comment on its performance? I ordered one due to the pricing but am concerned with some of the things I've read about build (plastic casing, warping/uneven finish etc.) and performance. It should be here soon; I'm just wondering whether I will keep it or not.

      • +2

The casing/appearance is very dated, it looks like a laptop from 2005 (though skinnier.) For the price I'm not worried about appearances.

I've just run the Windows Experience Test and got the following performance results (while IE was open with a couple of tabs.)

        Processor 7.2
        RAM 7.7
        Graphics 6.8
        Gaming graphics 6.8
        Primary hard disk 7.9

Again for $900 I'm very happy with the deal.

        • +1

Thanks heaps for the quick response; I'm encouraged by those scores and can live with the look (not that superficial despite coming from a mac ;) ); but i think work is giving me some kind (?) of a lenovo and so it may be superfluous for me. But as you say, either way for $900 one can't complain!

  • Received mine today in melbourne - very fast given shipped from China

  • It's 4:30pm. Nothing yet. :-/

  • +1

Got mine today ordered on 18/07 delivered to Melbourne

  • Just opened mine and disappointed to find the left button above the track pad is fully depressed and stuck in the down position.

    • Damn did you find a way to pop it back up?

      • No unfortunately. They will replace it with a brand new one. Just need to take a few pictures to show the problem.

  • Got mine last night too!

  • Tried to upgrade to Windows 10, it's saying there's not enough disk space available. Mmmmmm.

    • There's two ways to go about upgrading, you'll need to either delete the recovery drive as for some reason it keeps downloading onto it or download the Windows 10 recovery file from Lenovo themself and restore it. Look at the little pamphlet that came in the box it has the address where to go for Windows 10 recovery

      • +1

Just curious, if you want Windows 10, why you didn't pick the Windows 10 option directly? To have possibility to downgrade later or just not aware? I picked the 2nd option, Windows 10 Pro option directly (at that time, any options on that ordering page didn't change the pricing).

  • If you were to re-sell this on eBay or gumtree, what price would be a fair price?

  • Got mine yesterday. Haven't opened it, hope it's good :)

  • Just recieved mine.

    Thanks OP =D

  • Just got all 4 of mine, thanks OP

  • Just mine this arvo. Checked dxdiag for the specs and it says the graphics card is the Intel HD graphics 520.
NOT the Radeon R7 as ordered.
    Anyone else get that too??

    • +3

I could be wrong but I thought it had both and switched between on a task dependent basis

      • Well you are not wrong. Checked the specs through msinfo and it does indeed have both.

        Cheers man

  • Ok Noob question. Sorry, but help will be appreciated.

Got my Lenovo today and it has windows 7 pro. Wanted to change to windows 10 pro, which I selected as rights.
I went to Lenovo website but they wish to send me the USB which takes weeks. Can I download it or is it on a recovery partition of hard drive?

    Thanks

  • One DOA'ed and one with a dead battery. Both going back to Lenovo.

    • At this price, I'd get a replacement rather than refund.

      • Going back as in getting it repaired.

        • You should demand that they come & fix it on site

    • My replacement was ordered 31/7/16 and was told I should expect it delivered within 2 weeks. 2 weeks have gone and the tracking information still shows it has only been released to manufacturing with no expected date for shipping. I'm seriously thinking I should just cancel and get a refund. I think this is one company that I never want to deal with again.
