      • I just wanna make a solid block of glue

    • Anyone know how these compare with liquid nails?

      Bought 2 packs - don't know why!

      • Same here, bought one pack, and now having second thoughts especially after reading that 12 month expiry thing.

Thanks OP, got a few at 88c each after 5% Masters Trade discount, 5% off Wish eGift card and 2% cashback

    • They must have some serious stock of these to discount it so much. I was hoping for some cheap sealers but shame that's not on sale.

Read the label, these are not meant to be sold outside of the USA :-)

Review from Homedepot, dried our tube, so I guess it might be close to the 12mths shelf life?

"If the product is fresh, it works extremely well. However, I the first 2 tubes that I bought were almost dried out. was not able to get the product from the tube. They were brand new and bought the same day I tried to use them. The third tube I bought felt softer when I squeezed it so I purchased it. It worked great."

      • Please read my cautionary tale below.

I second what mikesnewcar is saying here.

    • I need adhesive to stick a small metal plate to the back of my phone's case.

Is thia product suitable for my use? Is it easy to remove afterwards? Is it easy to clean the residue?

If I chamge my phone case I need to remove the metal plate from the old case and stick it to the new case.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      • +1

Wouldn't recommend unless you wanted the plate permanently stuck……….

        • Thanks, definitely don't want the plate to be permanently stuck. Any idea on the product that is better for my use?

@binks: Strong double sided tape. Maybe one of those command adhesive strips.

          • @binks: Probably some good double sided tape

            http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/scotch-perm…

This sticks very well but with some effort can be removed easily.

          • @binks: @joedingy:

            I'll give it a try.

It's a bit tricky because it has to be strong enough to hold the metal plate while being attached to magnetic car vent phone holder (logitech trip +) yet it can't be too strong and make it too hard to remove.

          • @binks: @binks:

I would use the double sided tape as already recommended. Of this fail to work the next best bet would probably be silicon adhesive.

          • @binks: @binks:
What happened to the two included metal plates adhesives? Those are just double sided tapes anyways so it's all the same.

          • @binks: @ATangk:

I used it first time on my old phone. Now I got new phone so I removed the metal plate from old phone but it won't stick properly on new phone. I think I need to re-apply the adhesive.

          • @binks: @binks: slip the metal plate between a cheap phone case and your phone.

    • @joedingy the loctite pl x3 is about the same strength as liquid nails (according some builder I was talking to).

For a $1 worth a gamble…just don't test on anything important or you may get yourself into a sticky situation…

      • Good stuff, thanks :-) I ordered a few and some clear ones!

    • Hi OP - Nice find - Thanks!

    • Saw the title and assumed this was threadlocker; damn wouldn't wanna confuse the two!

      • I was hoping the same thing…

    • using this on my number plate

good luck stealing it now to any would be thieves

    • CAUTIONARY TALE.

I bought this product and was very disappointed.

Unknown to me, part of the glue had hardened internally. When I tried squeezing the caulking gun, most of the glue leaked out the back of the tube. Needless to say, I had much to clean up afterwards, and my project stalled.

I am uncertain whether it was past the "Use By" date or was about to expire. But I returned the lot and got a refund.

Your results may vary from mine so just a heads up.

      • Thanks for the info. Was it the premium one? I bought instant grab and multi purpose, too.

      • +1

Did you pierce the inner seal? This has to be pierced also, in addition to cutting the tip.

        • Bought a mix of three to try about 2 months back.

TBH cannot remember which one was bad. Probably just my batch was off.

I believe not all are bad, perhaps older stocks. Also I discovered that the quick grab claim wasn't to grabby in my case. Again, probably just isolated. Other than that, I think they are good products when working.

Check the dates of manufacture, Master's stocks may be manufactured early 2015.

The Pro Lines have a 1-year shelf life, so may have expired already.
The Power Grabs have a 2-year shelf life, so should still be OK.

The date of manufacture is either near the bottom of the cartridge, or underside.

      For the Pro Lines:
E.g. 3R5164xxxx, the manufacturing date code is 5164, where 5 is the last digit of year of manufacture, and 164 is the day of year, so it's manufactured in 2015, day 164.

      For the Power Grabs:
E.g. 15120-xxx, the manufacturing date code is 15120, where 15 is the year of manufacture, and 120 is the day of year, so it's manufactured in 2015, day 120.

      • Hi digitale

Thanks for the quick guide. I am sure it would help many of our friends here including me.

  • Cool, this will save me some bucks on laminate flooring panels I'm installing myself. Wonder if this deal also includes the tool kit and edging?

  • Got the last box of Power Grab Heavy Duty Adhesive at the Joondalup, WA store. There are still a few boxes of the other 3 Loctite cartridges left.

  • Any thoughts about Storemore Zinc Shed? Appreciate any inputs … I missed the last garden shed sale from Masters

  • I made several large online purchases first thing yesterday morning and they still haven't sent me an email to collect my items. I went into the store to enquire today and they told me the order hasn't reached their computer systems yet and some of the things I ordered were already out of stock. Pathetic service don't order online.

I purchased the Loctite Power Grab Heavy Duty Exterior Adhesive for $5 a few months back and it's not exactly great for exterior, it needs about a week to cure otherwise if it rains then the glue goes back to white and a little soft. It wasn't old stock just not cured enough.

I just love the Good old "hard as nails" would have been a better "cheap option" i think… now i'm stuck with this one now, hoping it doesn't rain for another week and it should cure well enough by then. Confidence a little low though.

      • What was the ambient temperature when it was applied?

    • That day was about 20c

      • Geez I think I will lay mine in the summer!
