I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow on the Dell XPS 13" currently @ $2099.00.

Price drop tomorrow will nearly rival JBHiFi by $4-500 dollars.

Can anyone with this model laptop comment on its quality?

      • +2

just read some professional reviews rather than an ozbargainer review if you want quality information:
        http://www.notebookcheck.net/

        • Not currently. I bought an XPS 13 QHD, Touchscreen, i7, 256GB for $2123 from JB 3 days ago. They have 15% off atm for it.

*Edit. Sorry, realised you meant the 1080p not touchscreen.

      • +1

xps 13 rated the best Ultrabook on the market. Worth checking out the Whirlpool thread for more. Ive been following it for a while, unfortunately the price is over kill for my needs.

Don't need something too powerful as I have a desktop

        • Don't need something too powerful …

U series processors aren't powerful, so, no issues there.

      • Excellent laptop. I bought one few months ago and works like a charm.

      • Excellent laptop very good quality

      • I have only had a try on one in store but it seemed to be quite nicely built. The track pad was great, keyboard was OK (membrane keyboards are always a bit squishy), and there didn't seem to be too much in the way of pre-installed Dell software. The only part I wasn't fond of was the power plug, but then again I've found the plugs on all Windows laptops to be a bit weak and wobbly. Also i can't comment on the screen if it's the 1080p model, I was looking at the qhd one, which was very nice

      • I have one for work, and it's been pretty poorly behaved on balanced power mode - Just make sure to turn that off. Apart from that and some other issues (mostly around the dock I have to use), it's been a tiny delight

Lego. Hunting Lego. Always hunting Lego. Gimme Lego.

    • Any ebay store for this offer to get lego ?

      • Couldn't find any.

  • +1

    Any gaming monitor?

    • I was hoping to pick up an Acer XB271HU that was really good price on the previous 20% off deal, but none of the stores have one listed.

Probably going to go with the slightly more expensive Asus PG279Q version.

      • Was looking at that too, but yeah no sellers are selling. However, some orders were cancelled for the XB271HU in the last sale.

I might settle for the slightly less expensive XB270HU

  • +1

Can someone explain how I search just the stores listed. I see there's a link, but I don't know what to do with that link once I have clicked it. It shows 11million items and I want to know how to search those suppliers for a certain term eg hard drive

    Thanks

    • You type what you're searching for in the search bar. Just like normal.

    • +1

Sounds like you are using the app version of eBay . Use a desktop and different search bars appear. I could never find how to search just these sellers either. Desktop version is the key.

  • +1

Unfortunately I have not hit the Jackpot yet, gonna keep playing (waiting) until I get the Feature (%20 off everything on eBay).

  • +3

Google Chormecast $68.99. Seriously? 20% off takes it to normal prices.

    • +2

      Lol, still better than Kogan

Which of these stores sell a Samsung S7 Edge mobile phone

      USE THE BLOODY SEARCH ENGINE.

Sheesh, how lazy can you be?

        • +22

          Here, let me help

Use the search link and search "S7 edge"

          You're welcome.

        • the world doesn't revolve around you, 2 bad for you.

        • -2

          @payton:

It's not about WHO the world revolve around.

I wasn't able to see search on mobile site and asked. Then I was immediately labelled negatively.

Telling people "you're lazy" helps little, sounds like a prick, it upset others and it is bad.

Telling people "check desktop site, there is a search within the promotion" can be a better answer.

Why jumped into conclusion so quickly? That is really too bad for everyone, not just me.

        • @icecream:
          I was replying to :

If you can't help, don't reply. Thanks.

Did you not see what's wrong with that sentence ? especially when said right after you are seeking help. With capable laptops and tablets being priced lower than midrange phones, would you really want to see pages after pages of either of these queries in a page with 300+ comments :

          1. please find me item X
          2. where is my discount? I've entered the code
        • -1

          @payton:

I accept there are noobs, so as pricks. There is bigger wrong about mislabeling others.

If someone negged you immediately you throw a legi question. How do you feel? Can you now understand why I said that?

(seriously, at school, at work, I bet you'd have heard "if you aren't helping, you better shut up")

Ignorance is bad, by all means.

If there 300+ repeating comments of similar questions, would it be better moderate the OP to help everyone there IS a search within the promotion? Rather than telling them off.

        • @icecream:

The OP contains instructions on how to search. It doesn't work for me, but the info was there when you posted originally.

On page ONE there is this discussion, which covers EXACTLY what you are experiencing.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/261500#comment-3926353

This is page 2, only a few posts below that other discussion.

So, did you read the thread before posting, or did you read the OP then posted the question?

Also, using a mobile device is no excuse. You need to learn that the mobile site, especially for EBay is absolutely SHIT. So, learn how to click "request desktop site" and use Ebay (and most other sites) far better and more easily.

They won't give my wallet a break.

  • Do any of these sellers sell cameras? Thinking of upgrading my dslr

    • I am also looking for a new Dslr, either the canon 760D or 70D but nothing coming up under the search above. I know Shopping square do sell these under their ShoppingSquare eBay account. Maybe someone can modify the link for the search above to include this account?

      • There's 2 different shopping squares on ebay I noticed

        • The usual 20% off spiel is not mentioned in the listings from "shoppingsquare" only mentions it on the other account "apusexpress2". Can anyone confirm that discount works on both accounts?

        • @ridecwb: I just bought a lens from shopping square and although its not mentioned on their ebay page the 20% off worked.Had me confused.

  • +2

amd rx 480 pricing without the 20% off is kinda insane

    • ehh id rather a sapphire nitro for ~480 from a pc store, I personally don't think the release coolers will cut it.

  • Any suggestions for iphone6 (16 or 64GB)? My kid ruined my mom's phone, need to compensate for that. Also I can get GST refunded.

  • +2

Thanks Op. Great timing for me. Need a 128GB micro SD card. Anyone know if the Samsung Evo+ 80MB/s card is better than the Sandisk Ulta 80MB/s?

    • +3

Those were the two I was deciding between too. I was actually just checking out when I thought I'd go check to make sure there were no coupons.

I'm going with the Evo+. I've done a bit of research and I think it's a step above (I think it's a 'speed class' above too - UHS1 vs Class 10?). I used this guide to decide http://www.howtogeek.com/189897/how-to-buy-an-sd-card-speed-…

      • cheers for that. I am also leaning toward the Evo+.

  • Budget pc build suggestions? Was interested in i3 6100 + h110 combo but idk which motherboard. Also any suggestions for graphics cards for budget build?

    • Define the budget of the budget build ;)

      • like $400-$500 without a graphics card XD

        • Should be able to get an i5 system for under $600.

Just do a search for 'i5 8gb 1tb' and up will come the pre-built systems :) search price low to high and you're good to go!

Just check what upgrades are available, sometimes it doesn't cost much more to upgrade to slightly better spec (I bought mine from pc byte. Paid like $29 to upgrade chipset on mobo to get 2 extra ram slots)

        • @Spackbace: Oh yeah the complete systems aren't too bad in price. Only issue is the PSU they use. Do you know what they use if you upgrade to like bronze etc?

        • @spaghettiman:

Not sure, but you've got plenty of time to ask them :)

        • @Spackbace: Sweet thanks for the idea!

        • +1

          @spaghettiman:

Also worth checking with their rep on here, see if they can do something :)

A couple of times they've done some better package deals

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/pcbyte.com.au

I think Francesca is the main one on here

    • Don't waste money on a AIO cooler now. Use that money for better hardware and worry about a cooler later.

      • OP clearly means h110 the chipset/mobo.

  • +10

Watch thsi guys, ebay us going to give you a 20%, and the retailers will jack up the price by 10~25% increase in price….
Is there any honest retailer thats going to keep the price at that and not jack up further….
Ebay and australian consumer law needs to do something about this stupid bait and switch stuff they do all the time…. sometimes the product is more expensive than local stock even with 20% off
    RIP EBAY 20% OF

    • +4

      It's simple, don't bother then.

    • +5

Just curious has anybody actually confronted eBay customer service with their dodgy sales? I would love to know their excuse on how prices magically increase just before a percentage off sale.

The other point I would like to know is why bother having government departments if retailers are able to get away with this sort of nonsense. It is dodgy and should be exposed for what it is.

      • +5

        Curious.

Anyone has raised this with ACCC?

        • +1

I wouldn't bother with the ACCC. If you want an outcome go to A Current Affair. It is just the sort of thing that is its bread and butter. Even better if you can get a little old lady to contact them about it.

      • Yes I did last sale. Just get the standard canned reply. Trying ACCC this time with details from both sales

    • +3

I can confirm that the ebay store FloraLiving has jacked up their prices by over 20% because of this sale.

I had a kettle in my cart last night for $60 and magically it increased to $75 this morning.

When i contacted the seller, they told me to wait until 10am to use the coupon code to get 20% off.

      What a rort…

  • +5

+1 for not including Kogan and his dodgy mob

    • Well… Kogan/Dick Smith 20% off has been on for a few days now, by itself… even more publicity for Kogan.

Damn, wait for the next TGG 20% code.

  • In the market for a 7kw reverse cycle air conditioner

    Any tips fellow bargain hunters?

    • +3

Panasonic Air Conditioner Inverter Split System 7.0Kw $1479.20 after code

      Model: CS/CU-Z24RKR
      7KW Cooling/8KW Heating

Reviews look alright. RRP $3249, selling for $1780-$1920ish elsewhere. Looks like a fairly new model (has the newer R32 refrigerant which apparently is more efficient and a newer technology). I believe Daikin/Mitsubishi have a better reputation but that Panasonic is definitely worth a look at that price as it would be tough to get a Daikin/Mits close to that price retail (they are high $1000s and unfortunately none on sale in this eBay sale).

We got this Daikin Cora FTXM71Q 7.1KW split system recently through someone we know, to replace our old Fujitsu which died. Would recommend that if you can find a deal on it somewhere, there's also a similar Mitsubishi model that is apparently quite good - we just went with the Daikin as it worked out cheaper.

      • Only if cash back from pans was on….

    • I am also looking for that. Nothing so far. :(

  • +8

Futu online has jacked up the price on all their routers

    • Do they only increase prices on popular items or pretty much universally?

    • lol yeh im getting the TP-Link Archer D7 ADSL2+..it went from 150 to 179..don't really care though since i'm getting cheaper than $150 :0. Def dodgy tho :(

    • Unfortunately not surprising. They usually jack up most of their stock when the sale goes live.

      • +2

How are stores allowed to do this? Didn't KOGAN get fined by ACCC for increasing prices when ebay has 20% off their stores.

  • -1

nuc complete set please including monitor

  • Hope to find some good deals on running shoes.

Time is running out to give eBay Australia and their retailers the "2016 Choice Shonky award" they deserve when it comes to percentage off sales.

    http://classic.choice.com.au/shonkyaward/expose-a-shonky.asp…

BTW why are people upvoting this deal when we all know the majority of retailers are jacking up their prices and giving no real discounts? I thought this was a bargain site!

    • +2

I thought this was a bargain site!

No! It's an uncomformed eBay deal site.

  • +1

Dang, I was hoping for a great deal on WD 8TB disks. $549 normal price at PC Byte brings it down to $439. Cheaper than MSY at $484 I suppose.
