    • The deal is for Australian Paypal account only. I used my US Paypal account and had the same issue. Then I switched to Australian Paypal account, it worked.

  • They jacked up the price on almost everything. I was looking for a POE gigabit switch and it was cheaper to buy from another store even without the 20% off.

I can't believe the grey import smartphone prices are even worse than kogan's inflated prices.

  • +1

This is crazy. They have a 'massive sale', prices are same as every day prices. People think "wow what a bargain". Then, normal everyday prices can be jacked up and people will think this is all normal, as the prices during 'massive sale' were lower.

Boom, prices everywhere suddenly higher. GG.

  • +1

Haven't checked all stores, but all i've checked have put up their prices 20%
    No deal here

  • +3

Don't find this a deal for specific stores that have jacked up prices.

  • +1

    Thanks op!

I know GreysOnline jacked up the prices for almost everything, but seems like they haven't touched -some- of their refurbed laptops (yet).

Got myself a manufacturer refurbed i7 Asus vivobook 15.6" touchscreen for $650 post discount. Comes with 1yr warranty which makes me happy :).
Now just gotta weasel myself into a win10 upgrade when it a comes.

  • Hi Guys…. I need a NAS for home use mainly for Media streaming, torrenting and Data backup. Please recommend a good one at a good price. Thanks.

    • HP ML10 V2 is about $200 with code on ebay, got mine for $159 a while back from warehouse1 but it was $99 at one stage as well.

I set mine up as a HTPC though.

  • +1

Why does it say "This code can't be applied to some of your items" even though I'm buying from the listed sale sellers?
I had the same issue with the Dick Smith sale. I'm trying to buy an S7 Edge.

    • I'm getting the same message.

      • I wonder if it's an error or if not everything is actually on sale.

    • Have you logged onto paypal yet?

I had the same issue then logged onto paypal and the code worked :)

      • It did work. Thanks :)

      • did you log into paypal via ebay or opened a separate window to log in? im at the ebay payment page, i see my PayPal details and nominated card but still wont take voucher code. I dont want to click confirm and pay and lose out unless by clicking confirm and pay redirects me to the paypal site?

        • +1

from memory I logged in via eBay. If you see your paypal details and nominated card it should mean you're logged in. At that point I was personally able to plug in the code, then it updated my total before I confirmed.

which store are you buying from?

        • @Uncharted:

I realise the error in my ways, haha. It was Syneytec and Shopping express. For some reason I thought they were included. I've since purchased the deal at the inflated prices via Futuonline. Thanks though!!

        • @winnieblues: ah totally understandable. Yeah I think those two have been in past eBay deals before, shame they aren't included this time round. And I've confused shopping express with shopping square before too, lol.

  • +2

Managed to buy the 128GB Samsung Evo+ MicroSD and the Samsung Fit 128GB too. 20% is a good saving. Thanks again Op.

  • On simplybestprices the code appears to only work on one item at a time so you will need to add one item, apply code, buy. Then repeat. So make sure to check before you pull the trigger just in case. Got two items that added to about $44. Expected it to come down to $35 but only dropped by $4.

  • +6

Futu selling the Apple TV 64GB for $395, RRP is $349. Disappointing.

  • dissapointing…
was looking at Sony RX100 mk3 this morning at 9:55am, as soon as the sale started it was removed from the Sony store….
    not happy

  • Trying to work out if either of the Dell XPS 13 units for sale have a touch screen…?

    • +1

Neither of them have touch screen. Only the QHD screens are touch screen, Theses ones are FHD

      • Thanks, yes I came back to update that Dell confirmed they aren't selling that version through eBay, not sure why

    • Out of the 2 the XPS 13 i7 seems the no brainer as its already reduced right?

  • -5

Put this in the forums. Prices all jacked up

  • +1

No cricket bats :( Missed opportunity for Father's Day sales, really.

  • +1

Thank, just bought the Crumper LLA Cabin Luggage.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Crumpler-Low-Level-Aviator-52cm-C…

    • I see you use a different username there. ;)

  • "This code can't be applied to some of your items."

I don't think Shopping Express is participating as they don't show on the terms and conditions page: http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/choice

    • Sorry, I mean Shopping Square.

  • +1

Thanks OP. no price increase in the items I was following. Dell and Sony

    • +1

Check Dell outlet - pretty you can do better than that

      • Do you mean dell website?

        • +1

I mean the Dell Outlet which sells as new and refurbished dell products. 100% legit - it's part of the Dell company, not some dodgy reseller or anything. You get full warranty.

          http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/product…

          DFO-2806-1555

Search that DFO code on the page.

          Inspiron 15 5000 for $699. i7-6500U, 8GB ram.

EDIT: sorry thought it was 2 in 1 but maybe not?

        • @Advv:

If you're considering 13", I bought a similar model to DFO-3769129IP for $699 but mine had an i5-6200u.

Very good laptop IMO. Only average things are battery life (5 hours) and touchpad (so-so)

f#$% futu online. bumbed price for harmony elite from 355 to 395.00

    • $3XX for a remote O_o
What different is this from using IR remote app on the smart phone?

      • Actually want to know the answer to this question also.

      • Mostly for one touch automation for multiple devices (e.g. automatically turn on amplifier when DVD/Bluray is inserted and played).

        • Harmony hub integration with amazon echo via iftt (native integration in works)

  • Bought Samsung EVO 32gb SD Card from pcbyte. Saved a few bucks too. Win win.

  • anything that isnt jacked up in price?

    • Some of the SD cards are cheaper than normal

  • +1

Any decent deals on a 2TB external hard drive ?

  • +5

Dont get too caught up whether the prices are jacked up on the item you want , just do a price comparison on somewhere like static ice and if its cheaper on ebay buy = win .

    • +10

      Ok Futu Online

    • Yeah but I'd feel bad if it's not 20% off the cheapest price to begin with lol

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought ebay were the ones who 'absorb' the 20% discount? If this is the case why do these stores bother jacking up their prices? Wouldn't they get 100% of what they listed it before anyway? Or are they just plain greedy?

    • +3

      just plain greedy

they are a business so let's call it profit maximising

      • So in essence they are seeking to make 120% of their original listing

        This makes me sad :(

    • -4

Yes you are wrong, the retailers will take the hit, not eBay.

    • +3

      There's a split

But exact details would be impossible to determine as they're covered by contracts.

    • +2

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought ebay were the ones who 'absorb' the 20% discount? If this is the case why do these stores bother jacking up their prices? Wouldn't they get 100% of what they listed it before anyway? Or are they just plain greedy?

Yes you're wrong. Why do you think this is 20% off to specific retailers and not all of ebay? Because the retailers are paying part of the 20%.

  • -2

    Anyone seen a Chromecast?

    • +12

yep, it's grey and sort of roundish with a thing sticking out of it.

    • +3

Only the original Chromecast for $40, not worth it.

      • Thanks mate but I'll wait for my TGG voucher!!!!

  • Search doesnt actually search the full sale.

Impossible to find anything worth buying.

    • +4

You need to scroll down on the main page / main deal link and use the 'search the sale' search box about half way down, don't use the search box at the top of the page that is for the whole site. Direct link

  • I'm trying to purchase a G900 mouse from mighty ape but the code keeps failing. Keeps saying code expired.

  • a bit surprise, can't find any GoPro Hero 4 Silver… been hunting for it.. although understand GoPro 5 is around the corner…

  • +2

Picked up a TP-Link Archer C9 for $147.20 which I thought was pretty ok.

  • Does any of these retailers sell Ubiquiti Pro router?

  • +7

the OP should definitely name and shame retailers that jack up the price before these types of sales.

  • +5

Leadtek WinFast GeForce GTX 1070 is listed at $799.
It's in stock and available to order at every other local retailer for $699.

This is a rubbish, dishonest sale.

  • -2

Personally I think deals like this should not be on here until the OP can actually find a deal.. like every other ozb post

    • -7

That's fine, there's enough people happy about the sale to count-act your negativity :)

      • -1

Negativity you say? I have a bunch of items in a watch list that are just there purely to see the price jacking. What surprise to find 14 out of 16 items all had their prices "adjusted" up of 20-25%. Total bait and switch and should be banned on OzBargain.

        • -8

Ever stop to realise that eBay don't cover the whole 20% …?

          No? Didn't think you did.

Same shit comments that get posted on every eBay sale. Everyone just lives in their happy little bubble and thinks eBay are covering the whole discount that they advertise, and that the retailers dont have to cover anything of it.

I wish I could live in your naive world. Are their unicorns on your planet?

        • +3

I think the part you're missing here is that regardless who fronts the costs of the sale the prices are HIGHER than they were before the sale… the customer doesn't give a rats arse where the $$$ goes, just the fact it costs more while on sale

        • +2

          @Spackbace:

eBay does cover the % of these promos or else no seller would be in the list above.. they are just being greedy.. its a high competition marketplace with most items on ebay listed with limited markup and targeted at high volume sales.

I am a seller myself and i have never needed to take the hit of the 10% or 20% off click and collect promos they have ever listed. plus i know a high rank seller that gets these promo offers and it cost her nothing apart from the standard fee's and stock conditions.

  • any itx motherboards?, couldnt see any on pc byte.

  • Any good deals on GTX 1060 or 1070?

  • Any good deal on smart phone?

  • Any electronic shaver deals in amongst this lot? I've been chasing a Braun 7 or 9 series, waiting for good sale 😁

  • +9

eBay is now flagrantly facilitating scam discounting practices. They're damaging their brand but I guess they don't give a damn because they're too big to fail. They think they are, anyway. Bigger companies have crumbled like castles made of sand.

    • +2

I think AliExpress will be consuming them in a few years time, and deservedly so for all this crap they keep pulling
