Found this in Kinja deals and checked the price at bunnings website showing 59$. Seems a good deal.

Warning: Unlikely to fit Australian taps, see comments.

  • AFAIK US has a different thread system for taps and pipes connection, but I'm not sure that applies to the thread on the end of the tap as well.

    • My thoughts exactly. I believe it is the "angle" of the thread which is different, actually. I have recently done a lot of checking on this, hoping to save on tapware by importing from the US or Europe, but I gave up realising that no country is compatible with Australian standards. Either the gauge or the thread differs, or both.

BUYERS BEWARE - SEE THIS THREAD

      • I imported a few tapware from Germany and physically they are the same compared to the one I bought locally. They fit perfectly.
The only different is the WaterMark sticker on the local stock… and then the price. I returned the local one to the shop. No point to pay 2x price for a paper sticker.

        • Germany uses a similar thread angle, and the tap spout may be similar, not sure. What differs with Germany is the gauge of the connector of the tap (Germany using 1/2", I think), whereas Australia uses 3/4" (Australian standard). So German taps won't fit our connectors.

EDIT: See this article in relation to aerators (which fit on the spout of a tap/faucet)

The United States use different thread sizes: 15/16"-27 for standard-sized male and 55/64"-27 for standard-sized female threads.

Also how much is replacement filter, and how often? Starter kits are usually cheap because they try and get you to pay more than roadside assistance.

  • I usually get these in Big W when they're on 20% sales for around $40 from memory. been looking to get a new replacement soon

  • I haven't been able to find this model in AUS for well over 18 months! I still have quite a few of the replacement cartridges from BigW sales in past but the main unit battery doesn't seem to last too long.
What was your Bunnings link? I couldn't find it on a search…
