Best Way to Buy NBA Tickets

Travelling to NY and LA at the end of the year and looking to attend a few basketball games, any advice on the best way to pre purchase tickets?

Below are the games I'm looking to go to if it makes any difference:

Pacers @ Knicks
GSW @ Brooklyn
Memphis @ Lakers

TIA

    I bought mine through Stubhub.
    Worked fine.

  • Check out http://www.stubhub.com/.

They are a ticket re-seller. I have used them many times in the USA for NBA, baseball, NFL and concerts (even if sold out). They will have tickets in all parts of the stadium and for a range of prices. Also have a good feature where it shows you the view from that particular seat.

You can get some really good tickets for a steal. I just went to a NY Mets game and sat in super premium seats for $40.

I know there are other re-sellers however I have not used them so I can't vouch for them . You can also have a look at the official ticket sites at each team's website.

  • You might want to try seatgeek, and try your luck closer to the date to get a good deal. Plus sign up promo codes promoted to buggery on US hoops podcasts.

I will say though that GSW@BKN game could be pricey. I know BKN will suck (hopefully real bad so the Celtics get a great pick), but GSW to will be hot with KD, and JLin on the Nets will make it even harder - especially considering the Asian demographic love for both.

Having only been to one NBA game (and a long time ago 2000 when Magic had TMac), I would say going to a sports bar/hooters can be a better experience.

    • I expect nets to get blownout, I want to see Curry/Durant but understand it will likely come at a premium. I'm not that fussed about it as my main goal is to see pacers @ knicks and lakers (for the sake of it, they are terrible).

  • As some of the others have suggested above - I've used Stubhub to purchase NBA and NFL tickets. Never had any issues and it's simple to use.
