        "uncool"… literally.

    • is reference cards that much worse?

The main thing I can't get past is the single fan. It's a 1080! You don't spend $800+ on a GFX card and not run it hot.

You can get the EVGA FTW 1080 for about $697 USD Delivered from Amazon, which is more appealing to me. Majority of the overclocking done out of the box, better cooling solutions and little extras like RGB Lighting. Along with a Double Bios.

You might be better off with this model for SLI for example.

        • @nagel: I'd probably get two SC's for SLI.. I mean, if you're buying two you can probably afford to spend an extra $100 on the $1700 you're laying out.

        • @Putnum: I think he was referring to the fact reference cards are generally better for SLI due to the hot air being dumped out the rear of the case, as two cards blowing hot air in the case would heat it up. Not the be all or end all but I can see the point.

Reference cards tend to be better for more compact / smaller builds with worse air flow (again due to dumping heat out of the case).

Good price in the watch. It's back down to the Amazon Prime sale price (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/256995). Although the B&H one is 'open box'.

for SOME cases, they need this type of cooler to blow hot air out and not every person overclocks so this does have some appeal at the price

Wow, shipping is $61USD UPS and FedEx $40.41USD for the watch, wtf.

    • Considering Amazon will ship it for $12,super expensive!

      • There's always a catch. Difference is the one from B&H Photovideo would be shipped through international express courier but the one from Amazon is standard shipping international air mail. International express courier is always super expensive compared to air mail.

As far as reference cards go, I actually like the look of this cooler. Much more understated than the 'Founder Edition' one, which is a bit tacky for my liking.

  • How does warranty work for the watch? Who do I need to send it back to B&H video or Huawei?
Amazon price was about $10 cheaper some months ago but require Prime.

  • Damn no black watch :(

The 1080 is not a bargain, US RRP is $599. Peeps on this site get confused by tricksy marketing and price gouging on new computer products. Here's a hint; if you're looking for a bargain, don't buy when demand is high.

Now if you're simply looking for the cheapest 1080 this looks pretty good.

  • The smartwatch is an open box item, please put in title. Does anyone have any experience with open box item from B&H?
