Best Value Hoodies?

Anyone care to make suggestions?

My favourite Hoodie is a $12 one I bought from 'The Hut' when they had a sale on from a brand called 'Brave Soul'. Unfortunately, they don't stock them, and somehow that brand has become expensive.

Anyone care to post what they know?
I'm ideally looking for full front zip hoodies. But pull overhoodies would also suffice at this stage.

I bought some $5 hoodies at best and less last year

decent quality (for $5) being the cheaparse that I am I compared their quality to target, kmart, bigw hoodies and found them to be as good, if not slightly better.

In February at Rivers I got a good one for $8 supposedly reduced from $35.

Depends what kind of style you like. Average Kmart joe vs hot stylish guy.

It is worth checking Sportsdirect because they always have some on 70-90% off sale. They generally have a delivery fee - a while back when I shopped in AUD currency, it was a AUD$10 flat up to a large number of items. It can still be worthwhile if either (a) you are buying a number of items to justify the delivery fee, or (b) wait for when they occasionally have free delivery, but this is not that often. I bought a hoodie from them when they had a free delivery offer.

At the moment, it seems better to set the currency to pounds, since the sportsdirect's own currency conversion is unfavourable. So e.g., this is 4 pounds, or AUD8.00 on the website. But based on current exchange rate, this is about AUD6.90. Even if you do not have a 'no-overseas transaction fees' credit card, and have to add this fee, most likely it is still better to pay in pounds.

    • I've checked out sportsdirect and its so far the best option. Great hoodies for under $20. Only issue is sizing, which can he a big gamble. Nothing worse than a lose fitting hoodie.

I also noticed that my beloved 'Brave Soul' hoodies are being sold @ASOS for $40. Still more than I can justify spending though.

They always send with items a return form, for return/exchange of items. I have never used it before, so never check into the details. You may want to check into it, perhaps they bear the return and reposting costs - as part of service. (If in the slim likelihood that you do venture down this path, and have had to use their return/exchange service, please let us know how it is.)

Keep an eye out for end of seasons sales which shouldn't be too far away if not already here. I always look in Target, Kmart, Big W & Best & Less. Last week I picked up 2 coats from a Target clearance rack for $19.50 each. At the start of this winter they were originally $99 each.

As mentioned, SportsDirect is another good option but generally when they have a specific sale. I've bought 4 hoodies from SportsDirect previously & have been happy with all of them.

    • Reggie, care to mention which brand hoodies from sportsdirect and your experience with sizing?

I'm usually a 38/39 in shirt size, which means I think I could either go S or M in hoodies. Which is a hard choice as I could end up with a too small or a too large hoodie lol.

      • From SportsDirect I got Lonsdale, Everlast & Lee Cooper branded hoodies. The average cost for each was about $20 (not taking into account delivery) but it was still a lot better than paying the ridiculous prices of $60 & upwards here in Oz. My height is 164cm but I have a stocky build so size large is what I went for.

    • Reggie, do you know more about the return form that always accompany the shipment? Does Sportsdirect bear costs of return and reshipping items that are too small or large? I have no need to use it before so have not investigated. Perhaps this info could be useful for datzed, who is worried about wrong sizing.

The other thing I found is that if you are not too particular about brands, or not in a hurry, just keep an eye out, and sooner or later, different brands will come on sale. I am usually interested in sales of 80-90% :-)

From memory the cost of return is the responsibility of the buyer but I have never had to return anything (touch wood).

Like you I wait for specified sales by SportsDirect as I'm never in a hurry to order. The majority of their daily sales don't interest me.
