      NBN master race?

Have already been killed by a horse, shovel, walking stick, scimitar and train. Along with the usual bullets, explosives and gravity.

    • Yep. Battlefield in a nutshell.

Is anyone else having problems connecting to server?

    • Yea, not connecting at all for me.

Just connected and now can't get into a game, was a bit iffy yesterday (Insider code) but today it's pathetic.

No use even trying to play any EA games: http://outage.report/ea http://downdetector.com/status/ea

    Some idiots claiming DDoS responsibility.

  • Got it running on my unsupported AMD 6950 1GB card and enjoyed the feel of the game. Only played Rush and it was pretty crappy as servers weren't populated but I can see it being fun on other maps.

Does this count as a deal?

    • At least 170 people think it does.

      • +1

I was going by the "rules", just curious :) A high number of votes means nothing in this context though, a majority is not an indicator of quality or correctness.

        • +1

          If it's freebie it's always a deal.

        • @John: Can't argue with that.

        • @John:

But it isn't a freebie, you are literally providing a service for no remuneration by testing the game.

Open Betas have been debated before and due to their popularity I think the mods have chosen to allow them. It's a free week of play for a game that costs $60+. I'd say that's a bargain.

  • Over 3 meg per second here. Optus Cable, no speed pack.

    • +1

Ok so Origin is retarded (like we didn't already know), I left it to download an update for Sims 4 and assumed it would start the Battlefield 1 beta.. you know.. like Steam, and other good downloading systems do.. Nope! Origin needed me to verify the installation of the Sims 4 update.

Starting the download now. Says it should only take 45 mins.

Played a few games last night. Not really a fan of it as it is right now. It's ok but it needs some tweaking.

  • 10mb/s speed pack optus last night.

  • doesnt seem to run too smoothe on ps4

I was pulling down up to 70mbps last night on my Xbox One, with Optus Cable. Didn't drop below 40mbps.

When does this open beta end?

    • +1

      About a week.

  • +1

Open beta is essentially the same as a free trial/sample so it should be considered a deal

This games real good, i just dislike the futuristic voice commands

    • You can turn them off in the audio settings.

  • Don't know about anyone else but I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers and it completely uninstalled my drivers and threw it into limbo. Seems I'm not the only one upon reading online, thankfully a system restore fixed reverted it back. Now to download it all over again to try on the PS4 :/

  • Finished downloading in 20 minutes and had a play with it. Great game I have to say. WWI matches are just more … crucial. I do miss the AA missile though..

  • Downloaded quickly on XB1.. Can't find a game. It shows about 10 servers with 2 full and the rest completely empty. Waited in a queue for a full one and when it was my turn got disconnected.. Can't join the empty ones, refreshing the list often removes most of the servers. Quality…

    • Tried changing your filter? On PC it only shows 50 (random?) servers.

      • Thank you, earlier I just set it to show all but it did the opposite giving me random empty servers in India and USA. Narrowing it down finally found me a game, 20 minutes is more than enough for me though, not my kind of game.

        • Sweet, no problem.

I got fragged by a horse!!…this game is awesome !!

Ok so having played it for a few days now i want to buy it.. Cheapest place i can see list it around $62-$65 AUD.

Ok, so I've played some more and I still like it… but there are a few things that stand out.

1st - There's a bit of a Starwars Battlefront feel to it. And if you played that game you know that's not a compliment.

The frantic running around is very unlike the BF franchise IMHO… then again it could be a map thing, hard to tell at this stage.

Tanks. Why do they make them so unstoppable?? Sure, I know… it's tank, right? But check the scoreboard on 90% of the games and you'll see who was in the biggest baddest tank. Again, personal opinion but I reckon tanks shouldn't be that indestructible and definitely not that repairable.

Planes. it's definitely not like any other BF before, it's fun but will take some getting used to it (then again that IS like every BF game!)

It's just a beta so you're obviously limited to what you can access but the weapons will also take a lot of getting used to. Bullet drop is HUGE!

Agreed with all your comments and that was my first thought, very Battlefront like. But I loved it, lots of fun really looking forward to the full version and upgrading weapons. Had fun on the fixed anti-aircraft gun and sniping.

Biggest neg was tanks, died so many times by lite tanks and my first reaction was to select a rocket launching Engineer but alas no RPG ability. What is the strategy for taking tanks out?

Anyway its fun if the Beta was supposed to lure you in to pay for the full priced version its done its job, I'm in.

      • Assault has 2 anti tank grenades. You've go to have bloody good timing or drop is right under a still one though.

  • Are the Xboxone servers down? It says failed to connect to EA online when I log in.

  • Playing it now

Just FYI there is an issue with the game where ranking up classes doesn't work properly. You can sort of get around the issue by going to www.battlefield.com/career/ and signing in with your EA ID then you can buy any unlocks for any class regardless of your class rankings. (i.e. buy the last sniper rifle even if you haven't ranked sniper at all)

    • It's been patched now.

  • Tanks so OP

  • I need opinions guys. Deluxe Edition or Standard Edition? I wanna buy digital so it's 20 dollars difference. Since I don't care much about the Battlepacks and themed weapons, do you think it is worth $20 for 3 days early access?

  • Only 1 map on this open beta?

  • I don't have a gun…
