Looking for a washer / dryer combo...

Hey OzB'ers,

Ima looking for a combo washer dryer. Something like this (with similar specs too):
https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/electrolux-8kg-washer--5kg-dr…

I've owned front loaders before but not combo front loaders.
Any recommendations on brand or where to go?

  • Any particular reason you want a combo and not seperate? A seperate dryer and washer will clean/dry better than a combo, usually (I guess maybe not if you're buying top-end Miele stuff).

    • The only Miele combo I can find has terrible reviews.
The reason for this is to cut down on 'stuff'. I'm trying to go minimalist where practical.

I have no problem getting a separate washer and dryer if the combos don't perform as well.

Choice hasn't liked the combos they say the dryer is what lets them down. That's from 2014, but I don't think washing machine tech moves very fast.

        • I'd rather not risk it.
I'll purchase a separate washer and dryer for peace of mind. Probably Asko.

We had one once, didn't wash well or dry well. You often have to take half the load out as drying capacity is often less then washing. Ours was an Ariston which is owned by HN.
I'd buy a seperate Miele washer dryer if you don't have room maybe put the dryer in garage.

I have an LG frontloader washer/dryer. I have used the dryer function (after washing) only once and it was next to useless.

The dryer is used very occasionally to "air" musty clothes or if I bring the washing in off the line and it feels a little "damp".

it's fine with small loads. just a few needed items - e.g. school uniforms in the morning.

  • I'm convinced. Thank you everyone :)
I think I was reading paid reviews earlier.
From what I can tell most people think these combos are ineffective.

  • Don't get a combo
    they're shocking
trust me on that one :)

Seperate saves money, energy too and also reduces service calls when the all in one craps itself leaving you hung up and dry :)

  • Ok. There are too many options and I can't find any good reviews.
Can someone please help me find a Front Load Heat Pump Dryer and Front Load Washer?

I've had Asko in the past. I'm quite happy to buy from them again.

I'm more concerned with life, reliability and performance over anything else.

I'd get Miele washer and dryer if you want those three

      • Got the WDA210 and the TKB350WP.

      • Got the WDA210 and the TKB350WP.
        …Also got a stutter?

  • Nice, a quality product made in Germany, should last decades.
