    Gearbest really isn't that bad… I just purchased one of the Xiaomi Smart LED RGB Bulbs for 25$. An extra ~$5 got me priority shipping which cuts back their usual 30 day shipping period to about 2 weeks. I ordered it last monday and it's already arrived in Australia @auspost. Girlfriends also bought a few things from them lately and we haven't had any problems at all. So their claims of change and improvement get my +1

      I am about to order a heap of RC spare parts from them, as they are 1/2 the price of Banggood and the others.

          I trust Banggood so they are my current favourite of this style of site. I like the wide range of stuff, I buy a lot of tools from there.

          To get the best value I store stuff in my Shopping Cart and process it when they have coupon codes.

        Ordered a flashlight from them just over a month back for Dad's birthday - a month later got told they hadn't even shipped it. Got them to finally refund it but been a week and still waiting on the refund.

        Reckon they're not all bad but, when they screw up, they really screw you over. Looking at all the forum posts - that seems to be pretty often. Going through the pain and following up with their support just isn't worth it.

        Apologies to Monty, this isn't aimed at you or others that have had joy (like I used to) dealing with GB.

        For the benefit of balance, I'd like to detail my most recent purchase from GB - June 2016.
        I'd purchased about AUD1000 of products incl. Xiaomi power banks, Xiaomi earphones and such from GB over the past year with an acceptable experience (given the cheap pricing).
        In the past I had suggested they aren't bad even though fellow OzB's were saying otherwise.
        Come to the most recent delivery…
        Ordered Xiaomi Hybrids, an SJ7000 action cam with various bits incl. 2 spare batteries (having 2 different part numbers) and charging dock for wife to use on trip to the Amazon, total order well over AUD100.
        Made explicit notes on the order about not part shipping items without discussing with me first.
        I even paid 10% extra for insurance & express shipping to ensure that the order would arrive in plenty of time for their departure. (in fairness, they refunded the extra shipping & insurance charges - after 2 weeks of being on their case about completely screwing us up).

        The bunch of numb nuts shipped the spare camera batteries by slow boat - China/HK Air Mail which arrived weeks after wife left for S. America making the whole thing a waste of time and money. They shipped everything else via express which arrived within 10 days of order.
        Wife very unimpressed and bitterly disappointed, faced with departing for S. America with totally insufficient battery power for her needs, one day before flying out ran around town looking for a solution. Went and spent over $200 on a waterproof point n shoot we didn't need for anything else.

        GB staff made all the usual apologies and repeatedly used platitudes to try and diffuse the situation, but that doesn't fix the damage their monumentally stupid decision caused and they refused to re-ship the spares via DHL to fix their screw up
        They argued with me that they couldn't ship the spares with the unit and referred me to DHL (whose documentation clearly showed it was OK).
        They also argued they couldn't ship the spares by the same method for the same reason (again a flagrant lie).
        The most infuriating part was how they pissed me around while I tried to get them to sort it out (while there was time to fix their fark up) and acted like the other bits being shipped out as requested was a good result.
        They wasted days of my time and the whole thing was a complete and utter debacle.

        Final WORD of WARNING - if you need something in a hurry, don't order from these guys as they
        A. don't do as requested
        B. don't fix their own fark ups
        C. don't compensate you appropriately for their stupidity
        D. lie about when the goods have shipped - once the order is processed internally it's status changes to shipped, but it could be another week before the courier actually gets it

          They have been to S. America and had no use of the camera that I specifically ordered from you for that purpose.
          There is no fixing that she went out and spent $200+ on another camera to fill in for the one she was meant to take.
          There is no fixing that your company refused to ship the batteries via DHL like they were meant to do in the first place.
          There is no fixing how your people lied to me and act like it's no big deal that you farked us over.
          I can't see what you can do to 'solve' this complete fark up.

    Ordered a phone from Gearbest that was in stock.
    Waited 2 weeks to be told its not in stock when others orders where shipped out of the phone.
    Told to wait another week and then a week later after complaining i was offered a Store Credit or waiting another week.
    They also refused to refund me the money i paid so one Paypal dispute and a bank charge back later they caved.

    Friends phone that got shipped out when we ordered at the same time never arrived and got lost while been tracked.

    Wouldn't trust a Chinese wholesaler that is happy to refuse refunds and try lying to Paypal.

    They really should be banned, I had so many issues with this company.

    They do not care about the customer. They will not give you a refund for faulty goods. I hope people don't get tricked into liking them again simply from this cheap little gimmick.

    I bet they are starting small and making their way to more expensive things.

    Buyer beware when the item costs more.

          PayPal disputes don't scare them. They don't give a damn about Australian consumer law. Etc.

          I had two successful dealings with them, then the third was the disaster.

          I stand by my neg and trying to warn people to never spend big with this place.

          And you don't care about Australian Consumer Law either - that choice is solely yours, when you buy cheap shit from overseas to save money, rather than supporting local vendors.

          All these Chinese sites are the same - I think that you simply need to realign your expectations. What do you expect? Shit happens, why sweat it?

          Use Paypal and get a refund when things go wrong. NEVER EVER pay for Tracking or other trackable postage methods. Claim on Paypal, don't even bother contacting the Chinese vendors.
