  • Does it with iOS?

    • +1

      Yep.

    • Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Compatiable with Android 4.4+ & iOS 7+
      It's in Features above.

      • I'm sure that was edited in after I made my comment.

        • +1

I changed it from iOS 7+ to iOS 8.0+ ;)

Why are the photos clearly edited with a fake LCD screen display?

    • +1

Not the best video but you can clearly see the display.

      • Is it me, or does it look like girl in video is using a fair bit of pressure to activate the touch screen.

        • Yeah I doubt it's a sensitive capacitive screen for $17.

any review, guys? for this one, or for other chinese brand step counter like this?
or i should just go with the xiaomi 2?

i'm in the same boat, interested to hear what people think

      • xiaomi mi band can last up to 20 days according to the website. very attractive.
at the moment at china website they have it on special, converts to AUD 29 but sadly cant ship to autralia.

        • Lasted more than 4 weeks for me. Very good gear.

    • Review of the Xiao Mi Band 2 is here

Got some good points but major flaws listed from testing included

I tweaked the settings to get the Mi Band 2 to buzz when I had an incoming call or WhatsApp but essentially neither worked, which is actually worse than previous devices. This could be due to the Bluetooth connection being a bit patchy with my Samsung Galaxy or it could be a bug that needs to be fixed.

Problems with it recognising when you are exercising and sporadic pulse rate measurements (so you can't use it to train within a certain heart rate zone)

Don't know what version of the firmware he had on the Mi Band 2, nor what version of the app but from personal experience, notification works well with my phone (Redmi Note 2 w/ Less is More 6.4 ROM).

Sometimes it works too well, I have trouble getting it not to vibrate when multiple events happen within a minimum time period.

It can display Time or Time/Date, he also states there's no distance display - wrong, it's immediately after the number of steps.

OLED screen is sharp, probably a bit sharper than the Teclast H30, and the gesture wake for the screen works well - better than the H30 which was far too sensitive.

Since charging yesterday it's dropped 3% and that's with enhanced sleep monitoring turned on, (it measures your heart rate during sleep to increase sleep state accuracy). If you have a lot of notifications set for vibrate that's going eat into the battery life, as it will on any fitness band.
You can get better granular control of notifications by using one of the third party apps rather than Mi Fit.

Don't use it for workout monitoring since my primary purpose for it was time, alarms, sleep monitoring, and notifications (email, SMS, calls, Twitter, Snapchat, Ozbargain :) ).

        • Thanks; I thought it sounded pretty bad with his review

  • hmm only for black.
@Clear, can you make the code apply to any colour? i will buy the pink.

    • I'll ask GB when they're back tomorrow.

      • GB Associated is here.

        • The GB that came first of course ;)

        • @Clear: Should I buy this ?

nice timing, I was considering the xiaomi band 2
any reason to go this over the xiaomi?

    • Cost. It's a much cheaper alternative to the Mi Band 2 with many of the same features.

    • +3

Depends, the Mi Band 2 has:
      1) 4+ times the battery life.
      2) The ability to notify you for any app that provides notifications, (ie. you're not restricted to just 3 or 4 apps, Facebook, Twitter, WeChat, etc) - this was important to me.
      3) Sleep analysis that is probably a lot better than this, (from the looks of the images I can't see this being any better than the Teclast H30, which was basic).
      4) Sync to Google Fit, (Teclast H30 app couldn't) - also important.
      5) Third party apps which can provide more functions, eg. music control (play/pause/next), answer/reject calls, programmable oled/vibration notification for apps.
      6) IP67 rating.

The Mi Band (1/1S/2) is better supported by third party apps, I don't know about this band but the similarly low-cost Teclast H30 was only supported by the app from Teclast … and who knows when they'll decide it's too much trouble to keep supporting it.

EDIT: I have both the Mi Band Tools app and the Notify & Fitness for Mi Band app on Android - the latter one adds a few things like tapping the button to perform some function, (including interfacing to Tasker).

Mi Band 2 con: Display is minimal, I liked the fact I could get more info on the Teclast H30, (and probably on this band), but in the end if I couldn't get the notifications I wanted then the band is near useless.

This C6 band looks suspiciously like it could use the Mi Band 2 USB cable and replacement bands, looks very similar.

  • I would like to know the name of the iOS App that this syncs with.
I have a device that does measure heart rate that syncs to the 'VeryFit 2.0' app. The heart rate information is available in real time or for the period back to midnight. Once midnight has passed, the previous data is lost. This has been very annoying for me.

    • +1
      • Thanks. The App screens (that I have seen so far) do not appear to display the heart rate information at all. So this is less usseful than what I already have.
