Good price, but for those who want to buy a new released phone so early, warranty is actually very very important!

You will never now whether there is any hidden problems in designing util a lot of people use it.

  • -1

    Eligible for TRS?

    • +9

No and If only i get a dollar for every time this question gets asked….

      • +1

        Thanks (◕‿-)

    • +4

How do u get the TRS if you dont even pay for it on the first place?

      • How do one go claim trs and how does it all works. I do not understand

        • If you fly overseas you have 60 days to claim TRS from date of receipt.

        • If you have purchased an item in Australia in the past 3 months and you're going overseas, bring your receipt and item with you. Go to TRS inside the terminal/airport and they will have it checked to be eligible for a tax refund. They might say that you will be in big trouble if you bring it back, but I bring it back but they have not checked me about my TRS tax-refunded item yet.

        • +1

@iTzMilzy: or use the TRS app on your phone and make the claim/upload receipt/get your QR code and save time at the airport

        • @GregFiona:

          didn't know that…thanks

        • -1

          @iTzMilzy:

          So you're essentially committing fraud

          Smart one posting it here

        • @shawncro 222:
Fraud??? Why? Have you ever read how TRS works?

"…I claimed a TRS refund for some goods that I now want to bring back into Australia. What do I need to know?

If you are aged 18 years or over, you can bring in up to A$900 worth of general goods into Australia duty-free, or A$450 if you are younger than 18. Families travelling together can pool this allowance (so a couple with a child can bring in a total of A$900 + $900 + A$450 = A$2250 worth of general goods into Australia without paying duty or tax). This is called your Passenger Concession….."

          @GregFiona:

Did you actually read the post the user made or are you like most people here and just reply with stupid comments

Seriously, the person I quoted said I'll basically claim it and hope that they don't check me bringing it back, this is pure and simple fraudulent activity avoiding fees and gst by sneaking an item back in to the country avoiding the whole point of TRS to those whom legimately use it and I can only see everyone here crying when the government ends it due to fraudulent users abusing the system.

Also dont bother quoting me a wall of text next time I know how the TRS works and don't need people assuming I don't

        • @shawncro 222: DID YOU EVEN BOTHER READING THE LAW? MAYBE YOU JUST CAN'T READ! HAVE A GOOD SUNDAY :)

        • @shawncro 222: and thanks for offending the Ozbargain community! I hope the Mods give you what you deserve ungrateful &&&# :)

        • @shawncro 222:

Seriously though who doesn't claim TRS when they go abroad when it is possible? To clamp down on people committing 'fraud' they should have TRS only for overseas citizens can claim if they were serious about it. Customs and boarder control are more concerned about what fruit and seeds or illegal food people are attempting to bring into the country.

Does anyone know whether it supports Band 28 which I think is very important to know. I have previously purchased iPhone SE from Kogan but had to returned it as it was US model. So please check it before buying it. If it supports all bands like local stock does, then surely its a great price to buy. What are your thoughts fellow OzBargainers !!!

  • Also you don't have to pay GST if your overseas purchase price is less than AUD $1000 no matter what retail price is listed by the vendor).

  • Bought a 32GB iPhone 7. But after reading about the GST/importing hassle, I've contacted Dick Smith to cancel it.

  • Or the Redmi Note 3 Pro International. Could have 5 of them for 1 of these.

  • Do they open up the box and remove the foreign USB charger or they provide an additional generic one?

    • +2

Who cares? Its cheap. Buy it

  • +1

Is this the jet black or matt black version?

    • +2

      Matte black

  • +1

Has anybody bought from there before? I'm wondering whether the shipping estimates are accurate?

  • The Matte Black 128GB is sold out. Still stock of the 32GB model.

  • They appear to have taken the black models off sale entirely, except the 32GB which they don't say if it's Matte or Jet black…

    Sold out I guess? :(

  • +2

Cheaper than iPhone 6s, Jack could be the reason

  • +1

I use my Jaybird x2, so I can live without Jack.

It's a pretty amazing deal for an iPhone that has just been released.

The only concern is if you get hit with GST from customs.

  • +1

Does anybody knows whether it support all bands like local Aussie stock. Please let me know. Thanks

  • -1

does it have one year warranty or 2 years ?

    • Grey Import = One Year

      • Can you please give me some update about my query if possible. Thanks

  • Is dicksmith considered as Australian retailer ? Coles CC PRICE PROTECTION terms says the seller has to be an Australian retailer ? So I buy from them can I claim price protection ?

  • -1

yeah nearly bought one but a $200 saving doesn't seem worth it if the phone screws up after a year.

will hold out with my 5S a bit longer..

    • -1

      It's more like $400 saving?
What model are you referring to?

  • -1

can i price match at officeworks?

  • 128GB Black back in stock.

    • Out of stock again…

      • +1

Back in stock again Sat 24 Sep 11am

        • Thanks for letting me know. Ordered one… too good to be missed… eventhough no 256gb Jet Black version

  • Am i correct to be saying that we don't need to pay tax on the 128GB model?

  • Does anyone know if I buy 3 or 4 of the IPhones, will Dick Smith/Kogan ship them seperately?

  • Works out cheaper than getting it on Virgin mobile $70 plan?

  • If this is sold by DickSmith - an Australian company who would be registered for GST and would have to charge GST on all non-exempt sales, then the invoice should list their ABN and GST component, correct? (allowing a GST credit if used for business) Dropshipping surely doesn't bypass having to charge GST? Anyone know?

  • Black Matte 128GB OOS

  • -1

iPhone sold from Hong Kong Apple Store has special policy of a no refund or a no replacement for a broken phone.
Please be aware. Detail please check their policy.

    • +2

we're not buying directly through Apple HK though.

  • +1

how about the supported band? same as local one?

  • Regardless of iPhone vs android bickering, I still think it's a bargain for an apple product only released a week or so ago. I ain't no apple fan either.

  • Don't forget cashback to save another $18 :)

  • To buy or not to buy is the real question :-/

    • I would snatch it If only black matte 128GB is in stock :(.. I'm not so keen in having dongle with headphone jack either and the reported hissing on them so still bit :/ bout it.

I guess if one wants to purchase 128GB model with additional WW warranty price will add up to 1171.4AUD

      • It's now in stock. Hurry

  • I cannot find iphone7 Black. Can someone show me where it is please?

    • Currently out of stock again.

    • It's in stock now, but be quick

  • A iPhone 7S 32GB would be nice with the cut 20 ……. would make me dump my android for sure.

  • I guess the differences the model dse selling is that it comes with cdma support. Hence if I reckoned there won't be local warranty support for this (no comparable) model here. Going to cancel my order.

    • +1

What model are you cancelling? Black 128GB?

  • +1

Black 128GB back in stock guys

  • Just got a Black 128GB!

  • I'm more concerned about the model number and hissing noise if i want to replace it through Apple.

    • Although doing bit of digging Apple HK stock should be selling A1660 and it appears AU store do too so might be fine after all

      • Although doing bit of digging Apple HK stock should be selling A1660 and it appears AU store do too so might be fine after all

IF Kogan/Dick supply HK Models and not USA Models. No one knows which they may send.

        • Apple HK Models have 2-3 week wait. The fact that DS is estimating a month until delivery makes me think that it be that model; However who knows until they rock up in someone hands.

        • @dingdong3000:

who knows until they rock up in someone hands

          That is the problem.

They may well supply HK Models, or they may supply USA Models.

        • @A3Australia:
Just went to Apple Store and the iPhone 7 here sold are A1778, so hence won't be similar to the HK version. Hence canceled my order and getting from local Apple Store.

        • @cloudie9: Are you sure this won't be similar to the HK model? I did send a message to DS eBay a few days ago about the model but got no reply.

I've ordered two black ones for family and think I'm better off cancelling now as I'm concerned.

        • @luztra:
          https://www.techwalls.com/iphone-7-plus-model-differences/
Have a read, very accurate articles about iPhone 7 comparison.

        • @cloudie9: Thanks for the link. I ended up having a read and have cancelled the orders.

  • It's back on stock. Matte black is available, more than 55% sold now. Quick!!!

  • +3

Looks like 128GB Black is out of stock. I bought one but I've changed my mind. So if someone here has missed out PM me. I went to the Apple Store today and the reason I'm going to stick to my iPhone 6 is because it's lighter and feels thinner (it technically is), has a much whiter/cooler screen than the yellow tinge of the new phones (which does disappear over time), and I like how my 6 has small bumps and scratches so I don't use a case. If I bought the 7 I'll be back to OCD days with screen protector and case and then an overall thicker phone. And besides, I tested the speed of the phones in general usage, and the 6 only lags by a few milliseconds. I've also never got used to the 3D touch when I had the 6s. Not sure why I typed all that.

  • -4

    what? 20% off?

this is almost the original price of Hongkong Edition.

actually you are paying for the original price with only 1 year warranty for you expensive iphone.

I rather buy the local version when i travel overseas, then i can claim the GST back. No difference!

    • Claiming the GST back is <10% not %20 of RRP.

  • I might buy one with a 50% ebay code.

    • I might as well buy all of them with a 50% eBay code. 😁

      • I can tell you're a billionaire.

  • kinda off topic, what colour is best for a guy? imo gold is too flashy, silver is too boring. im torn between either black or matte black

    • I got silver. All my previous phones were black so I just wanted a change. It looks nice

      • Rose gold looks better. Silver and black are for old models.

  • Black 128GB back in stock

  • Buyers remorse… how does once cancel an order? (please)

    • Go to your ebay purchase history and look out request for cancelation option. Then DSE will go through the cancelation process.

      • Thanks for the reply, did that! :)

      • There's only a Return option?

  • Looks like Mr Kogan has enough orders, he's pulled off all the iphone 7 listings from ebay store.

  • Awesome. Cheap iPhone to go with my $24/month 10GB Optus deal.

Any suggestions for flip (folio-style) cases? Can't seem to find much at the moment!

    • How did you get 10GB for $24/month?

      • $40 BYO deal with $10 bundle discount and 10% Unidays discount. It's usually between $24-26/month
