there is no prepaid option for marriott hotels, I booked a room in Sydney and have to pay at the hotel
you can ask the person on the booking line to take payment now, prepay it, it's the same but you lose the ability to cancel
Anyone else having the same 'problem' as me? I prepaid using Amex for a stay in December but my card has not been charged. It has been more than 5 days since booking.
Maybe there is a free cancellation period in some cases they wont charge until that window is up.
my transaction is still showing as pending a couple of days after…though did get the confirmation email..hoping it clears soon.

Yep.. I called Accor and was told that the hotel I will be staying at will charge my card at any time until the check-in date. Happy to report that the hotel charged my card not long after my post and that initiated the cashback from amex. Every hotel will be different so don't be too worried.
The hotel has charged my card now but I haven't got the cash back email or credit from Amex yet. how long after does the cash back arrive after your card has been charged?
@9race: For me it was about 4 working days. If you don't get your cashback after 7 working days, give amex a call. I've found them to be very helpful.
Anyone know if buying the Accor Plus Membership qualifies for this promotion?
Accor hotels and accorplus are seperate organisations so i wouldn't think the membership would qualify.
Whilst this is true - the bookings go through accor.com and when you check out at hotel there's no difference so i see no reason why an accor plus booking wouldn't get the cashback

Yes I did book an Accor property outside Australia and no, I did not receive AMEX confirmation or $100 credit for that matter… promo clearly states it's for Australian properties only and it should be pretty easy for AMEX to pick this up as all Accor properties located overseas charge in their local currency…
Happy to report I prepaid for a heavily discounted (Red Hot Rooms) stay in November and received both the email confirmation from AMEX (immediately) and the $100 credit (a few days later).
The AMEX transaction is under the hotel's name so there's probably no way AMEX can differentiate between a pre-payment and payment at the hotel…

staying for 2 nights, if i make 2 separate bookings on the same card do i get the amex cashback twice? i can't see a mention of this in the T&C?
T&Cs clearly specify "to receive one $xxx credit" - so that won't work if you use the same card, however I'm sure it will be fine if you use two separate cards, provided of course you register both cards for the promo…

I can confirm that using your Amex on Accor Hotels just on dining will give you the $100 cashback when spending $200 or more. I have done this now on 2 occasions at my favourite Accor restaurant when paying the bill with Amex. If you have Accor Advantage Plus as well - then you can stack the promotion! Note - I did not stay in the hotel.

By any chance could you help to check the Accor Advantage Plus website to see if a Stay Plus hotel stay is available at: Sails in the Desert a member of Pullman Hotels between 30 Dec & 1 Jan? I realise for this hotel, Stay plus benefit requires a minimum stay of 2 nights which I presume is one paid and one Stay Plus. Does it list the total cost for the one paid night?
I tried to call Accor Plus & Accor reservations but they wouldn't help me without an Accor Plus membership.

I choose the cheaper option with prepaid option so not sure if Accor has processed my payment yet.
RE: Accor promo- I havent received any subscription/redemption emails from any of my 3 cards. Called Amex and they manually applied credit- has anyone else had this issue? Normally theres an enrolment and a redemption email.
Was it a bank issued Amex card?
when you call Amex, did you tell them (or did they ask) that you booked the prepaid option? which not supposed to be honored

One or more transactions …do they need to be on the same invoice via the hotel? I have a 283$ charge from a week ago …if I get another one for 17$ will I 'make' the 300$ required spend?
Confirmed working at SP Marriott - requested to split a 3 night stay into multiples of $300 and added extra bed to bring total to over $900. Received a lovely surprise when shop small credit appeared on my statement! Love amex! This is for a prepaid stay in July 2017.

I called the hotel and advised them of my intent to prepay and split payment into $300+ lots. The prepayment part is very important. They emailed me a 'Third Party Credit Card Authorisation Form' and I submitted 3 separate forms. Cards are all under one name.

You need to trigger the payment now. See if you can prepay your stay like some ppl posted here.

If you are paying with an AMEX issued AMEX, then you can do a livechat with them later, usually they are super helpful in giving the statement credit.
