Is it possible to buy now or using the coupon tomorrow?

    • Coupon is for PAYMENT discount.

So yes, you can by now and pay later.

  • in b4 "you posted this too early"

  • Need a Mirror less camera - Looking for Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II which is currently sitting around 1079 @ CameraPRO. Would be nice if I can get it in this sale.
Any recommendations for the lenses to go with this camera? I have been advised for the Pro Lens approx 799, but would like to know what someone would suggest for a first timer, mirror-less camera buyer?

    • depends. Can start off with some of the Olympus 1.8 prices (25/45) or can get the 12-40 2.8 Pro. Olympus lenses are excellent and you can't go wrong. I'd recommend the Pro lens

    • I'm keen for the 12-40 Pro lens too, I hope there's a sale on them. Shatter I hesitated last time round

    • -1

Want a mirrorless camera too but want more than 16mp and 4k video.

      • -1

        Sony A7ii?

        • -1

Yes possibly. Maybe over kill for new photographer but ive seen it and like it.

        • -1

          @nubzy: Or A7IIs?

        • So overkill and be prepared for huge lenses (size and cost)

      • got an a6300 have not been dissapointed

        • Yes impressed with that to. Will get that if a genuine bargain is available

        • @nubzy: Me too. But having a look at the history for A6000, they came with two lenses for just under $600 before.

  • Hopefully can grab some cheap RAM for my NUC that should be here later this week.

    • +1

cheap ram? it's already cheap as man, less than $70 for 8gb DDR4 are you kidding me!

      https://www.mwave.com.au/product/corsair-memory-8gb-2x4gb-dd…

see more ram here (for i3 6th gen nuc that is)

      https://www.mwave.com.au/product/intel-boxnuc6i3syk-nuc-bare…

      • Thanks for that. I'm after a single 8gb module as the model I'm getting only has one DDR3 slot.

This one looks like it should do the trick:

      • Hey man, Im looking to make a new gaming PC this summer, Can you help me please? I know about what I want kinda, I have made one last year, but im a noob when it comes to prices. thanks

        • Budget?

I bought a PC during the last eBay 15% discount deal.

          i7-6700k
          16GB 2400hz RAM
          Z170 Motherboard
4TB HDD (I use my own SSD)
          Liquid cooling
          Gigabyte GTX1080 G1
          Cooler Master Case
          850W 80+ Gold PSU
          DVD drive

All for around ~$2700 after discount.

        • @JajaMinx: As aroused as those specs made me, I wouldn't be able to afford that. Gosh I would love to see that machine in action, holy.

I only have 1100 to spend really :/

could you maybe suggest something around that? I spent around 900 on my current PC and I comfortably play battlefield and skyrim.

Its just I want to get parts that are good quality, within my budget and synergize well with eachother.

My current PC has i5 4440,Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB, 2x4gb ram, 1tb HD, an just kinda standard cheaper stuff. No liquid cooling or anything.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate your help.

        • +2

          @cool kid:

Pump your graphics card to a 1070, grab another 2x4gb of ram, and get a 500gb ssd (like the 850 evo).

You'll have a pretty bitchin rig then.

        • +2

          @cool kid:

          Indicative prices only (Centrecom):

          You can reuse the following:

          1TB HD

          Purchase the following parts:

          Intel Core i5 6600 3.30Ghz Quad Core CPU LGA 1151 - $299
          Gigabyte H170-HD3 Socket LGA1151 ATX Motherboard - $158
          Kingston Hyper X Fury 8GB (2x4GB) 2133 Mhz DDR4 - $57
          Crucial MX200 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive - $141
Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat Case - $105
          Corsair CX500 — 80 PLUS® Bronze Certified Power Supply - $85
          MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 4GB Graphics Card - $399

          Total : $1243.5

You should be able to find cheaper prices elsewhere.
If you can source the parts from participating retailers during this eBay sale (20% off), then you'll be able to bring the price down to within your budget.

Check back tomorrow and we should be able to help you with the real pricing.

        • @iforgotmysocks:

That actually sounds like a good idea, I would do that but I want to make another PC for my brother also. But ill keep a look out for the SSD I think that is a must nowadays.

btw, did you mean a GTX 1070?

        • @JajaMinx:

Wow dude thanks for that, I have copied that down and will keep it in mind when I buy the parts. gnna check up on which ones I can hopefully grab on the Ebay sale.

Also, Do you get good deals on graphics cards and CPUs and other parts during the boxing day period?

Also I found a MSI (RX 480 8G) 8G RX 480 PCI-E VGA Card for $380? is that a good deal? should I get it? BTW I am happy to wait till boxing day to get parts if they will be cheaper. I dont mind spending 1500 if it means I can get really good parts for a really good deal. But as is my budget is around 1100.

Hey thanks for the help dude !

        • @cool kid:

If you're not in a hurry to get a new computer, then wait.
There will always be newer and faster components over the horizon.

You're not going to get 20% off during Boxing day sale and computer parts don't normally drop that much in price under normal circumstances.

For me, 20% off on ebay is your best bet for some serious $$ savings.
If you don't get it during the next few days, then you can wait for another 15-20% off on ebay in a couple of months.
I personally think you should wait for another SITE WIDE 15-20% off, that way you'll have more retailers and better range to shop from.

By the way, if AMD is not your preference then you should consider a GTX1060.
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MSI-nVidia-GeForce-GTX-1060-Gamin…

It's newer and faster than a Radeon 480 at similar price.

  • Stupid question (which I'm good at)…
Is there any way to use a GEM Visa on interest free buying from eBay?
Hard to swallow paying higher retail prices if it can be avoided when discounts like this are available

    • You will get 6 months time to pay it off as the GEM Visa Credit card provides 6 months interest free on credit card purchases that are $250 and over. But you obviously cant get 48 months etc.

  • +1

(profanity) it. If I can find a deal I am buying a 1080.

Speaking of Intel NUCs i'll be hunting one of these tomorrow please post a link if you come across one as part of this deal :D

    • I bought one of these from Warehouse1 on eBay for $313 just as their standard price. Not sure if it was a pricing error, but they delivered and the NUC is pretty cool.

INTEL [BOXNUC6I3SYK] I3 core NUC Swift Canyon NUC6i3SYK

No need for the mega-huge 'H' model .. just stick to the 'K' model and slip in an M2 SSD.

      • Yes, it is a pricing error.

Our new fella listed this wrong on eBay, we are losing quite a bit per item, but we will honour any that came through :)

        • Oh … I didn't know it was ozbargained and I wondered if it was an error. I just searched on ebay and it looked like a good deal.

Thanks for the good service and fast shipping.

The NUCs are pretty cool. I'm thinking of switching my i7-4770K for a Skull Canyon NUC or holding out for a Kaby Lake NUC.

  • Any good CCTV system deals? or any other suggestion on ebay from experience? Thanks

    • If you hates wires, check out netgear arlo

  • Damn, I just bought a router, modem and switch last week

  • +1

Total noob, can someone pick me a PC to buy, need good amd graphics for 1440p screen, cheers

    • +1

You should wait for eBay to release the list of retailers included in this deal and have a look at the systems they offer.

      What's your budget?
      Why AMD and not Nvidia?

      • Have a Freesync monitor, budget is flexible, maybe 1k? Not sure, been out of the PC game for ages

        • What do you have at the moment?

        • @JajaMinx: just the monitor and a spare ssd, it's 3440x1440 75hz so I think I need some juice to drive it

        • +6

          @2real4u:

You're going to need a beefy graphics card to drive that 4k monitor, but I think Free sync will come in handy if your graphics card is not beefy enough.

          Indicative prices only (Centrecom):

          You can reuse the following:

SSD (what's the size? ideally you should get a 500GB)

          Purchase the following parts:

          Intel Core i5 6600 3.30Ghz Quad Core CPU LGA 1151 - $299
          Gigabyte H170-HD3 Socket LGA1151 ATX Motherboard - $158
          Kingston Hyper X Fury 8GB (2x4GB) 2133 Mhz DDR4 - $57
Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat Case - $105
          Coolermaster GX650 650W 80+ Bronze Power Supply - CM Storm Edition - $109
          MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 4GB Graphics Card - $399

          Total : $1127

Personally I think you should go with a Radeon R9 but Futu and PC.byte are not selling the R9.

Use the 20% to bring down the final price.

        • +1

          @JajaMinx: legend!

        • +1

          @JajaMinx:

Thanks for this! Used to be a huge overclocker back in the day and would carefully pick components for a custom build, but it’s impossible to keep track with what’s the best or what’s the most value for money these days and just want a decent upgrade to my old i7 950 with R9 280x.

Can you recommend a good 27”+ IPS monitor and i7 chip instead and are these prices before the 20% off?

        • @JajaMinx: do u think i should forget about freesync and get a 1080 gpu?

        • @avexdevil:

These prices are before 20% off and from Certrecom.
You can most certainly find cheaper prices else well, but Centrecom is a reputable store so I normally buy from them instead of places like CPL or MSY.

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Acer-Predator-XB270HU-UM-HB0SA-00…

          or

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AOC-AGON-27-WQHD-G-Sync-165Hz-IPS…

or if you want to go nuts

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ASUS-ROG-PG279Q-27-4ms-2K-IPS-LED…

The above are all gaming IPS monitors with 144-165hz refresh rate.

In terms of CPU, i7-6700k (quad core but higher clock) is better value for gaming comparing with i7-6800k (hex core but lower clock).
With these CPUs, you also have to consider which chipset you prefer because they use 2 different sockets.
          i7-6700k (LGA1151) Vs i7-6800k (LGA2011)

        • +1

          @2real4u:

You don't need Freesync when you have a GTX1080. XD

        • +1

@2real4u: I myself would be concerned if the 480 would run games at max at a 3440*1440p monitor. You might need a GTX 1070 or 1080. or wait for 490 to be released? Just my opinion. But if you really want to take advantage of of the freesycn then maybe 480 with 8gm ram instead of 4gb? I am very likely to wait if at your position.

        • +1

          @cwtrick:

cwtrick is right, you need at least a GTX1070 or GTX1080 to run 4k.

        • @JajaMinx: thanks guys, it's not quite 4k (ultra wide 1440p) but I guess I should wait, don't know if freesync is worth it I guess as haven't used before

        • @2real4u:
          How about two 480's?

        • @mrdavedave:

          You're better off with 1 single GTX1070.

Crossfire/Sli is not always stable and you're better off with 1 single powerful card rather than 2 x mid-range cards.

Don't forget, power consumption with 2 cards will always be higher than 1.

IMO, the GTX1070 is the best bang for your buck.
You can pick up one for less around $500 during the sale.

  • one after another none-stop?

good, it is even more convenient for the sellers, coz they dont need to change the price back down to normal before each promotion, just having them 20% more all the time !!!

  • Hmm.. I wonder if there'll be any note 7's

    • +1

Try searching on Ebay. It's easy.

      • I don't know who the selected retailers are yet.

        • Then you should read the OP and the posts on page 5 that provide search links.

You asked this question when NOBODY knew who the retailers were. However during the night that information has become available, so now you can search for yourself rather than wasting our time to search on your behalf.

If you learn how to use the eBay search and how to sort the listings by PRICE (rather than by Best Match) you will learn something that you can use in the future.

Can anyone recommend me a NBN modem/router.

I currently use Billion 7800n for ADSL2 and have no complaints with it. Is there a similar modem for NBN like the 7800n?

    • ASUS DSL-AC68U, you'll find there is a lot of love for it if you do a search on the interwebs.

      • Thanks will take a look at that.

Does it have the SNR feature like the billion modems??

        • Hands down, Asus DSL-AC68U, been using it for more than a year, can't find any faults with it.

        • @cloudie9:

Also after an NBN FTTN modem but with VOIP. Just a shame this Asus one doesn't support VOIP.

        • @g12345567: Loving my fritzbox. Looks like a stupid toy but performs wonderfully and has a great featureset including VOIP.

    • I am using a Fritzbox 7490 and a TP Link Archer D9, both run really well and stable.

    • You will find the 7800N works perfectly find with the NBN (Using and still going strong), Your NBN connection will have its own router that connects to your modem/router via the EWAN port on the back.
Edit* Your phone will also connect directly to the supplied NBN router if you so choose, so you do not have to specifically have to look for an all in 1 voip router if you are planning to keep it near your installation

      • Hey Rob,

My NBN will be FTTN and not FTTP :(
