        • Thanks for the prompt response. I have a feeling that all other HN stores will be doing the same thing.

        • From my experience none of the HN staff is nice, they are arrogant. Better do chat via online if you want to pricematch or purchase online

  • I think I used Paywave.

    Is that a problem?

    • Nope but you prob won't have gotten a confirmation email about meeting your spend that's all.

  • I can't seem to checkout using AMEX Express - I assume they know I'm purchasing gift cards. Has anyone tried using Visa checkout? Would that be eligible?

  • +1

Data point: I can confirm that the 1 transaction (purchased in store) we split up ($300 /card) across Amex issued cards (inc supplementary) + bank issued (NAB & ANZ) have all credited $100. The Amex issued took 3 days & the bank issued took the full 5 days.
Note to self: 6 Amex cards is not enough. Must get more.

  • I just registered and saw the below condition

Excludes gift card purchases and phone orders.

Is this newly added or has it always been there

    • The latter

I've bought 2 Vpay $300 each yesterday and the email confirmation didn't come through. My first VPay purchase two days ago had the email immediately but not the two I bought yesterday.

I'm assuming AMEX is slowly catching up to our OzBargain activities.

    • Not sure how they would know, unless the VPay was processed through a different terminal other than the normal Harvey Norman one. Just keep an eye on your statements.

  • Is it common not to receive email following purchase?

I have used 3 cards but no email was received. The card registration email was received immidiately.

    • We will find out in the next 5 working days.

    • Me too, exact same, spent Vpay on Wednesday and Thursday, no email or credit yet

    • Purchased in store today and received no email. Also got nothing for my Shop Small purchase earlier whereas I was getting email straight away the past few days.

  • Anyone tried buying vpay at North Ryde Harvey Norman which is within Domayne? Cashier warned that their store is not "on the list" and may not be eligible for $100 credit.

    • OFFER TERMS
Excludes Domayne, Harvey Norman Commercial Division, Harvey Norman Insurance Replacement Division, & Harvey Norman Security purchases

This may be the reason why….

VPay out of stock HN Moore Park or they said everywhere.

  • +1

VPay at HN has been ozbargained - they are out of stock at all HNs.

    • How..? Is there a daily top up limit or something? Because they're not actual physical cards which rely on physical stock. Unless it's like opal card and they have limited daily top ups?

      • Most likely HN preventing vpay sales.

        • Ok. But that's different to having no stock.

        • @illumination: They are not physical cards so can`t be out of stock. I am doubted they would have reached daily limit. Most likely they are preventing sale.

        • The sales person show me the screen in the vPay machine when she entered the amount, which showed "out of stock"

      • +2

That's what I overheard from the HN rep telling the guy in front of me. The rep was actually really good, saying he knew how to Vpay transaction and was keen to help the guy out but upon investigating he said they couldn't issue any VPay anymore because "they all ran out"

        • The staff member was very friendly and was going to help me out too, but the machine couldn't get vpay activated. They think their epay machine is out of date.. Either way, I think it's either vpay has been maxed out, or epay has decided to pull the plug on its vpay sale for now.

  • Got iPhone 7 32gb using 4 amex - got 3 emails confirming $100 credit straight away. Need to spend $141 more for another $100 credit…

    • Was this today?

      • Yes

        • I'm in the pool of people who bought Vpay and didn't get an email confirmation.

Maybe AMEX already have implemented something to stop GC and Vpay purchases.

        • @xenoic:

When did you buy the Vpay? Yesterday or before?

        • +1

@xenoic: From what I gathered from the entire post, it seems the email confirmation doesn't necessarily come through straight away for purchases of late, not just VPAY. Personally I am really not worried about the statement credit not coming through for VPAY because you would have noticed that the Harvey Norman EFTPOS machine is not linked to VPAY issue machine in any way, so therefore AMEX wouldn't be able to tell whether the payment is for VPAY or not without having to verify the transaction manually.

        • @lilkid28:

Bought two on Thursday no email and transaction showing as pending in my account.

But the one I bought on Wednesday, the email came immediately even the transaction still shows pending.

    • How did you manage to find one in stock??? :-(
It seems that they only have them available online (delivered) but there is no way to use 2 CCs to split the bill…

  • +1

Was just at HN Nunawading, they ran out of vpay. Said they have a monthly quota to print vpay sales and it was all gone within the first few days apparently

    • Must have got one of the last ones then. Got mine yesterday around 2pm.

    • +2

Well in this case, we can just sit and wait until next month :D

    • +2

This must be a world first .. sold out of egift cards…

  • Anyone bought an Apple Watch with this?

Wait has anyone found an Apple Watch 2 at HN

  • is HN going to stock PS4 Pro?? really keen with this offer

    • I've rang up 3 stores and they don't have it in their system. Reasons could be they don't have pre order for this item yet.

I guess you will have to visit the store on the 10 nov to check it out.

  • Does this apply to pre-orders?
I'm guessing it does, if its a prepaid preorders.

    • HN doesn't even have PS4 Pro or PS VR on their system. So no, they can't take any PO.

      • I'm not replying or referring to the ps4

      • I am actually lookup for the ps vr few days ago in their web site, too bad they dont have any……

  • +1

Went to hn gordon .. guy said it was out of stock … tried online yesterday .. declined to sell me 2 times … gid hn suck .. its no wonder i never ever shop there. .. have always found the sales people rude

  • Don't buy from Harvey Norman North Ryde as their terminal is registered as Domayne so you won't get $100 cashback!

    • I believe North Ryde and Belrose are excluded in NSW

      • They were included in the previous rounds, however credit only came quite a few days later.

And yes, their terminal shows up as a DOmayne store.

I won't risk it… what a shame I live really close to them.

  • Has anyone bought vpay in Adelaide?

  • +2

Received credit today from Vpay purchases on Thursday.

  • Can I buy HN gift card in store to get $100?

  • Have received $100 credit on my AMEX-issued card for $300 vPay bought on Thursday, but not yet for those bought on my bank-issued AMEXes (CBA & NAB).

Now that my worst case scenario is covered (losing $5 on each vPay) I'll try to get some more on the remaining cards I have.

    • +6

You will get them 100% sure dont worry. I bet my life on it

      • +4

But according to your username, your life is probably only worth Turd…

    • My pending payment on my AMEX-Issued card has gone through today. But the Harvey Norman offer still showing not claimed in my account and I haven't received any credits.

      • This can happen, just wait a bit longer.

        • In 2016 people are impatient and want things now now now now.

        • +3

@Turd: I am more sympathetic especially towards those who are new to AMEX.. Easy to get paranoid and spooked with all the comments made here! We are just trying to do our best to calm people down :D

        • -1

@feihong: haha I need more amxes!!!

      • I have one of my offers showing up in Amex Connect as EXPIRED even though I redeemed the offer and got the cashback.

    • Bought from which store?

      • HN Oxley (4075)

    • Just confirming I have now received the $100 cashback on both my bank-issued AMEXes (CBA+NAB) for 2x$300 vPay vouchers purchased last Thursday.

  • Anyone else had their online giftcard order rejected, but their AMEX has been charged and the $100 credit is showing on their statement? I hope I still get the credit once they refund me the giftcards

    • no chance. Amex will call back the $100 rebate once the merchants refund you.

      • Phoned up HN, and I now need to email a different department about the status/refund. This is annoying

        • this is how ridiculous this is … they take your money, refuse to give you what you bought and then YOU have to chase them up about the refund … really unbelievable ….

    • Im sure this will be taken back

What i want to know is more will it proclude a purchase in store afterwards to get the credit a second time? Or if legitimately buy items from there?

  • Any Additional card holder received the credit yet ?

    • One of the cards I used to buy a $300 vPay was the supp card on my wife's account. I've been credited on that.

      • that means you received $100 credit on main account and for sup card as well ?

        • Sorry, my bad, got the cards mixed up. It was used and credited on my primary card.

    • Yes received on 4 primary cards and 5 supp cards.

      • 9 cards…

        • +1

Was going to do more, but it's out of stock

    • got supp card for the wife, understand need to register offers on her card too
but can I use MY amexconnect account to enroll offers on her card due to the name difference?

When adding new cards it just asks for card number :|

I added her card to my amexconnect login, and enrolled in a couple of offers, but now just worried due to name difference will there be issue in receiving credit?

  • Silly question. But is this offer available to people that got an AMEX credit card through a bank like CBA, Westpac and etc?

    • Yes. Just click on link and register

  • +1

Can anyone confirm if hn have refunded for denied gift cards online purchases? Can beleieve they would take the money before going before going ahead with the transaction… and then keep the money.

    • I'm still waiting for refund too. Got rejected on Nov 2.

      • I got rejected and a call today

It is rediculous - their policy is absurd. Basically anybody who purchases a GC online they will reject as it is against amex T+C. My response over a heated hour call was that how is that HN's issue that is the purchaser who does it

It's stupid - legitimately I sometimes purchase GC's for staff in our business and pay with AMEX so it's a silly policy.

        • so did they advise about the how they took the money but not proceed? and also when they will return the money or should we just call the bank for a charge back?

        • @hippyhippy:

They will refund and apparently have done. My point being it's a stupid policy as HN look bad for mucking the customer round now. Whereas if the transaction went through and AMEX didn't pay the $100 it would have not been an issue

It's a stupid ill thought of way of dealing with a problem. What they are essentially saying is nobody can buy a GC with Amex which before Christmas I wouldn't have thought was a smart business decision

        • +1

My thoughts exactly. I purchased egift cards the last 3 offers and they allowed it!

        • I'm speechless..
I didn't get any call, just rejection email and no mentioning of the refund.

        • +1

          @dustynn:

I only got a call as I put in a complaint about the rejection. The email reads basically its a 'reviewed' transaction (ie fraud) and I don't take kindly to that given it is a legitimate purhcase

Later this week I need to go and purchase $1250 gift cards for a staff member that did a great job last quarter. I will be paying with AMEX; however had it been at HN allegedly that would not allowed

    • @hippyhippy have you called them? I just did and they said "sorry, we will issue you a refund.."
so they did KEEP the money!

      • Same thing happened. I had the call THEM.

      • I was waiting for my refund but after seeing your comment I decided to ring them and ask. They said even though it has been rejected, they have to manually issue the refund and to do that the customer must ring and ask for a refund. What a joke!!!

  • Bought on Saturday, and got the $100 credit appearing in my statement on Sunday.

Have anyone try to register multiple Vpay vouchers with using one email address?

    • +1

      Does not work

    • +2

Here's a suggestion if you use GMail to make things simpler.

If your normal email address is [email protected] and you have a vPay voucher with an ID 123ABCDEF.

You should[0] be able to register the voucher with [email protected].

Any relevant emails will still appear in your regular GMail account - so you get a unique address for each voucher without having to create heaps of email accounts.

      https://support.google.com/mail/answer/12096?hl=en
      http://fieldguide.gizmodo.com/how-to-use-the-infinite-number…

[0] Just a warning that some input validation systems erroneously prevent the use of a '+' sign in an email address, so if vPay do this it may stop you from doing the above (haven't tried personally).

      • Thanks Drsmithy and Turd. Vpay is the most unusual system that require One email address for each vPay voucher. Unreal!!

      • +1

the '+' sign is supported, just make sure you don't have a typo during the registration process, or you'll end up having to call them to resolve
