Just wait for an eBay 20% off sale.

It can be bought for ~$180

    • +5

      I only buy 1TB nowadays …..

  • +7

    This is the normal price:
    http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=850+evo+500…

Also can be had from Amazon for $210AUD.

    • I'd rather pay $9 for Australian warranty.

  • nunawading Store is in shop small so if you have 10 cards you could possibility save $100 :)

    • +10

Read that back to me again?

    • they charge excessive fees for Amex card….

      • They don't accept Amex online, so I couldn't confirm how much they charge…

They appear on http://thydzik.com/amex/amex-output-vic.htm however not on the Amex Shop Small site, so they are probably not included in the promo anyway.

what are people using these for?
    M.2 drives are way better.
In fact the Intel 600P is actually cheaper than this drive when using the CHEER20 eBay voucher through Futu's store.

    • +2

Because only really new motherboards, like skylake, have M.2 slots lol

      • -1

        Oh really? Fair enough.

        • Haha yeah
I'm on h97 which is haswell refresh, and I haven't even got a M.2 slot
So that's a pretty good reason

But also the performance at a given price isn't really any better from what I've seen
Unless you jump up to something like the 950 pro, performance is about the same on M.2 and sata

        • +3

for me it's ability to recycle, so sticking with SATA3, so as I upgrade I can re-use elsewhere e.g PS4, Xbox, older laptops, etc …..M.2 will be a while until I have enough devices to do trickle down.

    I just ordered this:
    Samsung 850 EVO Series M.2 500GB SSD
For $158.26 shipped on eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/182341036674?_trksid=p2057872.m27…
    4 left.
No coupon needed although I did cash in my $100 voucher :)

Yeah, it's not NVMe but it's still decent for the price.

    • +2

Good find. It's only 4 left, otherwise, you can post it as a deal.

      EDIT:

I believe it is a pricing error.

      Samsung 850 EVO Series M.2 500GB SSD $158.26

      Samsung 850 EVO Series M.2 250GB SSD $270.93

Grabs one if you can make use of it.

      • Gone :(

        • 5 listed, 3 sold. The seller pull the listing off.

        • @O O: I had it in my cart and was going to purchase the 2nd last one, but I forgot cashrewards, and by the time I logged in to CR and re-added the item, it was gone :/

        • +2

@epicttiimm: It must be a spy from Harris Tech monitoring OzBargin activities. 😉

        • +1

@O O: Haha who knows! I feel like I got a bargain now. If they honour it.

      • I brought it just in time. Can they cancel it since its through ebay? Like when harvey norman svrew up they just refund your money? Make that 4 sold.

        • Mine just got refunded/cancelled :/

        • @closey: yeah mine got cancelled to with no reason! Which is just rude!

        • +1

@TheStapler: negative feedback really takes a dint in the percentage doesn't it…

  • +1

    $211.20 delivered on eBay:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-850-EVO-500GB-2-5-SATA-II…

    Use code CHEER20

    • +1

You beat me about 12 sec on posting this. :P

    • +5

It's $205 @ MSY all the time, no discount code needed. These eBay 'sales' are full of crap, when the discount reduces it to RRP.

      • -2

Can you buy it from MSY today?

        • +3

Definitely. Bought one last week for my hackintosh.

        • -1

          @epicttiimm:

          Link?

        • +7

@interfreak: Have you never heard of parts.pdf lol it's like the best feature of MSY.

      • Especially when it has actually been decently on sale below the rrp (this deal is already terrible after a quick static ice search showed several tech stores cheaper)

    • +4

Got one for 180 last 20% off sale. Prices are all more this time round

  • +2

No deal. No bargain here at all.

Although, I may be a bit biased.

    (cool story bro time)
In retrospect, getting fired for "performance reasons" a day after sustaining an injury on the job, would have to be one of the best things that happened to me.

  • +1

Will centrecom also be offering any bargains?
