          yes, for hair products

  • +6

Why is this a deal? Some only have one item

    • We cant do 100 cellphone at 10 dollars or we will Bankruptcy (cwl)

      • +21

Then, maybe don't do it? Or post it in the competitions area. Offering 1 phone at $10 to tonnes of people is a competition, not a deal…

      • +5

Then don't add 1 cellphone to list.

Add extra on other items of 10,20,30 etc.

  • +23

Negging for the reason that most ozbargainers will miss out, not enough items in stock for me to be considered a deal.

Especially items less than 50, more of a competition imo

    • -3

OP has said they will add more codes so people don't miss out

      • +4

        Where was that said?
All i saw was codes would only be shared here, looking for more deals…

if you don't want people to miss out, the quantity is the issue, nothing else.

        • -6

I could only say this time is much better than 11/11,during that time the whole world compete for 2 cellphone,
and Russian guys always get very fast, for this time, only you ozbargainers.

        • +12

@gearbest: Thanks. So… you have experience in advertising deals with very limited quantity (something called baiting)?

        • +4

          @gearbest:

This is your opinion, it does not mean this deal is much better than 11/11

        • +1

          looking for more deals

          Yeah, exactly right

        • +6

          @gearbest:

"compete"? You've said it yourself, it is a competition not a bargain.

        • +2

          @gearbest:

          What's the Russian's secret?

        • @stonkered:Vodka…….

    • +8

Yep, limited stock makes this a competition, not a bargain.

    • +7

      Yup,with those quantities it's a joke

  • +10

Not really a bargain when quantity is so low.
It is better if you do genuine discount on items rather than bait advertising

  • +6

Some have a quantity of 1, so the chance of you getting it is near 0.
What's next? Oz Lotto advertising lottery tickets here as bargains?

  • +7

would be better if expression of interest for any item is placed. ozb usernames get put in the proverbial hat and drawn out. winner gets to purchase for US$10. if not next username gets dibs.

    • this is actually the best solution, and could even require people to create an account to enter the comp = everyone's happy

  • +5

Started to get excited until I saw the quantity, COTD flash sale nightmare all over again…….

  • +1

    Hi guys,

Thanls for the feedback,We will learn for the future.

    See you next monday.

    Sunny

    • +8

no longer applicable, rep has edited comment.

  • +1

What's the best postage method? It looks like registered, unregistered and priority line are all free

    • +3

      Hi Savas,

Better choose priority line,if DHL is available, you can choose it for better tracking experience.

      Sunny

      • +2

Thank you so much! You seem like a very helpful person so I am sorry about all the negs

  • +10

From prior experience. Product never turned up. Gearbest is gearbust for me.

    • +3

At least they're consistent. Store Rep OP ignored you despite commenting 15 minutes after you.

  • +12

Minimum stock levels should still apply. Listing items which meet, along side more desirable products which don't meet minimum bargain listing rules … is just subverting the rules. Especially when used for promotional purposes.

  • KEEN!

  • +15

Sorry OP but any person that is clever enough to use a PC and the 'net would know that single items are never a viable offer, to put the situation down to inexperience is, bluntly, to treat the Ozbargain community with contempt by taking us for fools.

The only remedy would have been an immediate apology and either a deletion or considerable revamp of the number of items available.

    Neg'ing this.

  • +7

    Quantity: 1 - 2 - 3

    Clickbait…neg from me.

  • What timezone is this based on?? That's a key piece of info …

    • +1

      It's in the OP:

      AEDT Time

      • Ahh I see, thanks.

  • +13

everyone who complains about the quantity, PLEASE do not visit GB's website during the event. More chance for me to score on some bargains.

    • +2

Yes best of luck . Unless your some sort of code guru you will be wasting your time .

  • +11

I thought Gearbest was banned from OZB?
    What happened?

      • I'm betting it was a money under the table deal

        • +1

If you are prepared to question the integrity of Scotty (as owner) with no basis whatsoever, why bother being part of the community?

No money changed hands, but you wouldn't believe me anyway, right?

        • Of course the potential of money changing hands exists, OzBargain is not a charity and how would any of the users find out?

Baseless accusations are stupid but in my mind, if I was the business owner, with almost monopolistic control on the community bargain site business in Australia and no responsibility to disclose transactions from promotions to users I would take full advantage without looking completely paid off.

Anyone worth their weight in business knows to make it big you have to loosen your morals in this capitalist world. And I would define Scotty and his success as "making it big".

For the record I believe Scotty on the whole is a good guy and many other people would have sold this community off, so to speak by now. Obviously their is the slight problem that many users have the instinct to know what's up, but by now OzBargain is big enough that many noobs wouldn't realise if the company transitioned to a full, pay to play business model.

        • +2

          @Shaw:
Lol calm down, you are being way to serious about this. I'm not about to start an uprising, I was just simply sharing an opinion that may or may not be true.. like the good saying goes, it's like an arsehole, everyone has one.
          On the flip side,
If I was in management position, I'd probably take a money under the table deal.. after all, the costs involved for this website don't pay for themselves.

        • +1

          @James D:

Ha, Long night. I know where you are coming from, just a bit touchy when people throw shit like that around, especially towards certain people.

The idea of monetising the site does come up from time to time, as we all know, but to this point, there is very little commercial engagement when it comes to such things. For example Slickdeals has a sponsor for this and that, but it's different here. As Scotty wrote in an AMA (Maybe a different thread?) that the site is fully self sufficient and covers all it's own costs through affiliate networks and advertising.

Fact of the matter is that Gearbest did not pay to get unbanned, simple as that. Hopefully they can come up with something to offset the negativity, but the ball is completely in their court as to what they want to do. Let's wait and see.

  • +10

The quantities are a joke. Fools beware.

    • +4

Ok thanks for letting me know.

  • +9

    quantity 1 is a joke

  • +4

Can you do a better deal for us? At least Increase the quantity of the Raspberry Pi :(

    • +8

I will ask boss next monday

      • Thanks heaps!

  • +7

Really, do we need more junk from these clowns?

    • +2

Hey mate, that's a bit mean…….clowns have gotten a bad rap this year :(

  • +4

Lol I wonder what Ozbargain staff must be thinking about the neg votes given that they encouraged/asked businesses to participate.

    • +5

Good question. The report for not enough quantity was taken away without an explanation.

      • Deal Posting Guidelines: Insufficient Quantity:

If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description. If the quantity is too small then your deal may be removed. As a guideline, less than 10 quantity of items is not enough for a deal unless the item has a high price.

This applies to the overall deal not picking and choosing 1 item out of a list of 20 different products. The deal has sufficient quantity. Where there it limited quantity is has been mentioned in the description.

        • +6

Thanks for the response, i didn't get this or any other explanation from the system, it simply dissapeared. I don't know if this was a glitch or not.

To clarify, when i negged this deal, the title was "GearBest OzBargain10 Deals - $10 Cellphones / $10 Mi Band 2 / $10 Quadcopter / $1 Mr Bean Teddy Bear + More $10 Deals"

This applies to the overall deal not picking and choosing 1 item out of a list of 20 different products.

          I wasn't picking 1… i was picking 10 items out of a list of 20.

      • We have already given explanation. All items listed in the title do have sufficient quantity. Now, would you consider USD$10 RasPi 3 or US$10 Mi Band 2 not good deal? As of the items that have less than 10, consider that as bonus.

        • +12

You have created a loophole that will undoubtedly be abused .

        • +9

I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. I consider all of the items with less than 10 qty unobtainable, not a bonus.

        • @troyww:

At this point in time, all the items mentioned in the title have 10+ items available.
The items with <10 items are only mentioned inside the deal.

So, that seems okay. The title reflects something that is acceptable to post to the general public.

The body includes bonuses for the ones who actually read the deal

        • +1

          @foundit:

The body includes bonuses for the ones who actually read the deal

True… but it was in the title. And because it was in the title, people voted, it ended up on the front page.

    • +1

They can avoid this by setting participation terms and conditions.

    • +4

Scotty upvoted this deal, so must think it's good

  • +8

    Quantity of 1, 2 etc… That's a bargain for one person here.

    • +5

if there actually IS one available. Bait for the rest

  • +23

This is ridiculous. Even looking beyond the stupid 1 of each phone, there's only 20 flashlights, 30 earphones and 5 TV boxes - are you for real? OzBargain should be ashamed to have this post on here let alone front page.

And cherry on top of the cake - if you miss out on the 1 phone each, you'll be charged the full price! How much dodgy can you cram into one post FFS?

  • +3

Prepare to wait. And wait. And wait a bit more.
I ordered Meizu EP51 from that deal more than 5 weeks ago.
Gearbest claiming they have 2 month delivery deadline even original description says 15-30 days :(

  • +3

Yeh come on how about some presents for ozbargain. It's like hosting a dinner party ond only bringing a box of 6 nuggets.
It's not going to FEED everyone.

    Quantities of one?
And this is supposed to be a celebrated special on a website of 10,000+ members?

OP, please don't try to fool your loyal members with gimmicks like this. You will lose a lot of credibility and respect with this sort of marketing.

  • -6

I think the way some people here behave is disgusting. Just because there is one only of some items to cry here? Someone will get it so try your luck or don't, up to you but to cry like a toddler in the supermarket which didn't get the sweets he wanted is just pathetic.

    • +1

1 only items shouldn't be advertised by Store Rep's or published by other members unless they're expensive and unlikely to sellout quickly, but you know this right?

  • +4

gearworst guys cmon thought you guys already know this crap site from the many neg feedback

  • +5

is this a bargain for ants?

  • +3

    This thread got wrecked lol

  • +2

You give people guidelines to follow, 'quantity' and remove their posts. You should remove this.

Meh, China style hunger flash sale. Don't learn the bad things from xiaomi, please.

  • Is Raspberry Pi "Chinese Edition" any different to regular edition?

Is it made by the same people, or a clone?

    • +1

Its the same except made in a chinese factory

  • +2

Gearbest.. give them a chance! maybe they are trying to make a mends for past atrocities okay

  • +2

    Haha… amazing deals…

But seriously, does this mean I can post up a bargain with 1 item in stock and waste everyone's time?

  • To be fair, i'd rather the effort was made than not at all. Would be ideal if they made it so only IPs or addresses based in Australia can order with the coupons

    • They have - its for ozb only (Australia)

  • +3

    Commenting so I can vote.

Negging for the amount of things. Cheap raspberry pi, amazingly cheap phones, oh, there's only a handful? Well, there goes my excitement.

Edit: wait, if there's piss all stock, isn't that against the guidelines?

Fair enough. Cheers for the clarification. It's my own fault for only going off what I hear and not actually looking myself anyways :)

  • +4

Quantities for some items are far too unrealistic for OzBargain and don't meet OZB posting guidelines. Items with 10 units or under should be removed. The items with 1,2,3 units are a joke and reflect poorly on OZB's 10th bday, despite the low prices.
