Prepaid CC to add funds to PayPal?

I need to pay for something via Paypal, but I don't have a credit card and I don't want to wait to link up a bank account etc. So neither of these options are possible. I have never used PayPal but can I use a prepaid Visa from AusPost or something? I've seen people say it can't be done as there is no address confirmation etc but thought I'd ask.

Few days ago I added a prepaid Visa gift card to mine and it worked fine

    • Champion, ta. Didn't ask for an address?

      • Nope just the card details :)

you can make a donation/gift url in the settings and then donate money to yourself with a prepaid credit card or get someone else to do it and then pay them the money back.

    • Amazing, cheers!

  • actually, request money might be a better option. you just enter an email then you click the link in the message (when not logged in) and then pay it.

either one works but with the donation/gift you have to be verified to withdraw it to your bank account.

    • No idea what any of that means but hopefully will make sense when I go to do it. I'm not wanting to put any money in my bank account, just pay a merchant who only accepts PP or bitcoin but PP seems easier. Thanks for your help.

      • Pretty sure you don't even need a Paypal account to pay via paypal. Just the prepaid credit card details will be fine, and can be entered as a one off.

  • You can link your load and go card from Australia post to your PayPal account. You can then next time sign in to PayPal to check out and it will take money out of the prepaid card.
