code redeemed but doesn't add my current 24m subscription. Still expires on the same period.
The code worked but didnt extend my xbox live subscription

Didn't work to redeem it on my xbox 360 but it worked on xbox.com and received fallowing message, although i still not have gold on my xbox (unless it takes some time to appear)

Code redeems but doesn't effect subscription expiry date or status… Suspect it is a Microsoft testing code as suggested by a previous poster.

Anyone know how to check Xbox Gold Expiration after you apply the code?
Click on your profile in the top right corner and click on subscriptions.
Code was accepted, however under the 'subscriptions' sub menu it's still showing as cancelled on x date. Seems to be hit and miss, unfortunately it was a miss for me.

No it's not showing at subscription tab under my account, so I assume that's a NO.I've tried on two different accounts. The code will be accepted however when checking your subscription nothing changes. No deal.

It said success for me but the expiry date remains the same. Therefore it didnt work.
Tried on my account which expire on 2018 and nothing have changed. Tried on new account which never had xbox live before and still nothing changed :\

Can we please downvote this. It clearly doesn't work (even though it says success), your subscription date doesn't change.
It didn't work for me but don't think down voting is right thing to do. It's free to give a try and if it works for even 5% of people also is a great deal. If down voted and removed from front page not many people will know about the deal.

Redeemed via phone app. How do you check if the subscription is active? Have jumped through a few pages, but couldn't see anything to suggest Gold is active. Probably means it isn't!
Microsoft will absolutely revoke the code for anyone that has successfully claimed it. The fact that it's a single code will make it even easier for them to do so. As OP correctly stated in title, this is a bug.
Who knows how many forums/websites it's now been shared on. It wont go unnoticed or unchanged by Microsoft. I'm not being negative, I appreciate the OP sharing, but Microsoft has shown in the past that dodgy/error/buggy redemption codes get revoked.
Redeemed and it says you now have 12 months Xbox live subscription. Good grounds for complaint if they're lying.
Confirm this by logging into your xbox/live account on a PC browser and looking at your active subscriptions, or turn on your xbox and have a look at your live subscription details.
You would complain that a free code you found on a forum didn't work. You must be fun at parties.

yeah, easy way to check, click on subscriptions and it will show every code/purchase that has even been redeemed/placed on your account.
It may have worked for you, but you won't be keeping it for too long.
I didn't think it would be kept, as I have suggested earlier, but it's no reason to neg a deal when it did work atm.
It initially worked tho after checking 1 Hour later subscription date still existing membership..:(

Yup, redeems but adds nothing to my account. Stil have gold expiring in 15 days.
Also I usually buy prepaid cards and redeem them, maybe that's why it won't work for us. The people that have added 12 years could be monthly payment people. Who knows. As worth a shot.

Where is this code coming from? Is it legit?
Using a generated code will cause account ban. I am pretty sure about this, someone I know was banned because he purchased a cheap generated code.It actually worked! Straight away went to 'subscriptions' and it has extended by one year! Thanks op 😄

Folks, I think it worked for people whose gold account got expired long time ago or atleast few months ago.
Ones expired recently or still on gold subscription didn't show anything.Surprised how few users negged based on comments like: as others stated it does not work, even when few users said it worked.
One of my account expired recently and it didn't work.
On another old account it worked and subscription was added for 3 months though. Can't check on Xbox as I don't play on Xbox anymore.Code seems to be not working now. Congrats for those who got it working.
I still had around 22 months on my subscription left, you are only allowed 24 months max I believe. It added another 12 months to mine still, and it's expiring 9/2019. Just checked again and it's still showing.
