have a couple of pairs and they are pretty sweet

  • Thanks ordered for a secret santa present

  • Any more 49" X8000D TVs landing in Australia soon?

  • Thanks… ordered 2x - BARGAIN!

  • Thanks TA. Registration worked fine in good old IE but crashed in fancy Firefox.

  • Meeeh why should I buy it? I don't need it now …

Little voice in my head: but you might need it later
Me: ..taking my wallet out -_-

My usual warning for Sony store buyers. They deliver with DHL and you have to be there to sign for it. No exceptions. They wont post etc so if you aren't home you have to chase them down. If they could just offer another delivery method I would buy from them….. but no luck. No Sony for me!

    • How about a PO box?

      • Definitely no go. No to Aus Post locker too. They will not leave it at the post office for you to pickup. You have to go to the depot and sign for it in person. Sony has replied that it is a DHL requirement and DHL say it is Sony policy. I explained that the post office pickup required ID vs if they deliver it to your home they just give it to the person that answers the door. No check of ID. They are a very strange company to deal with

Agree. Sony will use DHL or fast way (not sure forget) but both don't want to deliver to parcel lockers! Super annoying.

        • @dragonindespair:
Parcel lockers are only available to Auspost services.. They have a specific scan label when the parcel label is created

        • @cwongtech: what scan label? not sure what you mean but when i buy stuffs from ebay and aliexpress i put my parcel locker and they got delivered just fine.
also when ordering from kmart, jbhifi, etc.

    • I didn't bother to read it, but when I was finalizing my purchase there was a box for delivery instructions. I think there might more options for delivery, as they wouldn't have that section if it was just one option? Don't know. It would be better if someone who hasn't bought yet to check that section and report back of what it says.

Yes DHL are turds - ruins the whole shopping experience. Douchebags claimed to have 'attempted delivery' at my house but never did. I had to chase them up as it was going to be returned to the depot ~30kms away. Second time I got it delivered to work - again 'attempted delivery' outside of business hours. Worst couriers ever.

  • I still have my $25 voucher from last year. Not sure if I should use it for this. Wish I had an amex. Probably more a forum question but I don't have the best credit and a student is there any low amex cards you can get or what is the cheapest option for amex?

Check out this page. It lists a number of cards. The Qantas Discovery one does not have an annual fee.

    • I still have my $25 voucher from last year

The Sony survey voucher? That should be expired already.

  • Would also like to know if the delivery policy has changed. I like some of the Sony stuff at the right price. From memory the delivery options did not include any other carrier last year.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed a few pairs to try.

  • Password does not meet minimum requirements. It must be at least 8 characters in length, contain one number, one uppercase character, one lowercase character and one special character.Wat the hack

    • I got the same thing it's because of the device we're using most probably not adobe supported and I was told that from Sony themselves.

On the first day of Christmas, Tightarse gave to meeeee…
These rippa pair of headphones from So-neeeeee…!

Thanks, at that price I grabbed a couple. One for me and one for Mummy dearest.

I would rather buy some Cadburry or Lindt for my dearest.

So you like poisoning your 'dearest' with genetically modified ingredients plus more? Whoever made giving chocolates a 'gift' has confused tricks with treats.

Usually these 'traditions' originate from the manufacturers themselves. Heavy advertising, social engineering, etc.

        • -1

Exactly, Health is wealth. Cheap plastics and stupid 'traditions', people should stay away from it. I mean these gimmick headphones.

        • @DSCRAC:
Possibly that too, but I'd quit over-marketed genetically modified toxic chocolates first. Stop poisoning your loved ones.

  • What a weird shape. Are these comfortable?

    • +4

      That's what she said :(

      • +1

        Are you banana shaped?

Saw one girl wear this on the train few hours ago. Ugly.
Not the girl but the earphones.

  • Walked past a Sony kiosk and noticed they were available for $10 in-store too. Grabbed a pair. Thanks for heads up.

  • Thanks OP - picked up 6 pairs to use the Amex $30 credit, Cashrewards confirm estimates an additional $5.75 back = $24.25 total delivered (just over $4/pair).

Will make for some very nice secret Santa gifts as well as presents for the little one's.

  • TA, plz make sure Sony knows that we all keep eyes out for sweet deal on MDR-1000x ;)

Talked to a few friends and checked couple of reviews (yeah.. before buying $10 headphones). All I heard was, these are just cheap crap which should probably be selling at that price anyway. Not supposed to be a Christmas "deal". Did anyone use this before ?

  • Expired? It shows $39.95 even if I login into my account.

    • There's one deal per day, so this was day 1 deal, and it has expired. Day two deal is about to expire in a couple of minutes already.

  • Received today. Ridiculously oversized box which could have fit 15 of them (considering how busy couriers are, not sure that was wise).
The DHL courier was curious to know what was inside, as they had been delivering heaps of these.

  • Items arrived..
