Recently I took advantage of the Cash Rewards Offer for NEW CUSTOMERS to Hello Fresh and Thought that was pretty amazing ($85 off the total cost).

However since getting my box I got a generic code for NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY which is used in the check out to discount your order by 100%. This works for any combination of Classic, Veggie or Family Box.

Bonus is that you can choose different options depending on what box you want.

Classic - 2/4 people, 3/5 meals
Veggie - 2/4 people, 3 meals
Family - 4 people, 4 meals

Best combination being for 4 people and 5 meals on the Classic Box for $0 delivered (usually $189.95)

Remember to Cancel it straight away if you dont wish to have it every week as its a subscription service which will to continue to deliver to you unless you tell it otherwise!

Changes to your account (meaning ordering or cancellations) need to be done before Wednesday 11:59PM (Sydney time) the week prior to your next delivery. Users should cancel or downgrade their box after they've ordered as they prefer. You can deactivate after you have made your order by clicking on your account and settings. Click deactivate immediately as the 1st order will still be delivered, just nothing subsequently after this.

Happy Eating!

** Havent tried the cashrewards discount in conjunction but doubt you would get the rebate on $0
** Only valid with Households first Box
*** Subject to you living in an area that they deliver to
**** I got given multiple cards to give to friends but they all have the same code - not sure how many order will get through but hopefully its unlimited!

Be warned…Mine came through to paypal at $189 despite the HFR6D06 code being accepted and order total being 0.

    • Mine did the same, and foolish me didn't pick up on it until I got the Paypal confirmation email. I just sent HelloFresh an email asking for my order to be reversed.

    • dont you check the final price before you click confirm purchase???

      • 99% of the time I do. Apparently this time I didn't. I saw the $1.00 order amount before I went to Paypal, and must have went into cruise control.

      • +1

I did, and I'm sure it said $1 - the code was accepted, however the full cost was charged.

    • +1

      sorry to hear…oh no…

    • +2

Hey the same thing happened to me but it did say $1 order total, then the total amount was $189.99 . I have no idea what happened. What a nightmare. I said I would never ever use them again a few years ago and this happens. I will never use them again and hope they get banned on ozb forever until infinity.

    • +1

Hey, I called them and said I was using a code I Received and asked them to cancel it immediately and they did, but I used Paypal.

      • Yeah, I've cancelled and recieved the cancelled email, but also filed a paypal dispute just to be sure, as the cancellation email is still saying it'll be cancelled after next weeks delivery.

  • I got voucher is invalid, guess they fixed it

  • +2

    Ozbargained!

  • +1

I tried all codes, and got "This voucher is invalid."

    Looks like the party's over.

I recall these clowns did something like this a year or so ago. They offered a trial box for $1, then promptly cancelled everyone's orders and many peeps didn't even get their dollar back. Be warned, these guys are not professional.

    • -2

I am sorry you are not invited for the party.
There are no charges involved except the $1 dollar verification which is refundable.

  • Do you think they will honor this?

  • +1

    Ozbargained!! Job well done folks!

    • killed half my day at work. im happy

  • +1

I entered in the code which brought the total down to $1, but I never checked the paypal total and I ended up getting billed for the full amount.

I called them immediately and cancelled/refunded the whole order!

  • +18

This will make for a perfect picnic along with my imaginary David Jones duffel bag.

    • +1

Reminded me I got a call about it the other day about the bag. Sure took their sweet time.

      • Did you get the bag?

        • +2

No still waiting for my refund. Lol.

  • I missed it. But just wonder will Hellofresh ever Honour this??? Massive freebies for them and huge loss

    • +1

Close to 4,000 clicks (would be more from other bargain sites and etc…).

Let's say 1,000 people ordered this.
Say each box cost them including delivery $50
      1,000 x 50 = $50,000 extremely rough estimate.

I'd say this isn't going to be honored for everyone. Depends on what their customer acquisition budget is. If you canceled straight away, I'd say not honored.
Or perhaps the first few will be honored…as a good will or such.

but with all things, time will tell. More trouble than it's worth for most people.

      • +2

Equivalent of two TV ads in peak of prime time. Not too bad I guess considering the exposure.

  • Forgot to use my $10 prepaid coles card I have lying around for these situations
Don't trust these guys at all.
Iv already unlinked my credit card from PayPal and thinking of liquidating my PayPal account until this boils over
Can someone tell me if PayPal can go into a debit balance?

    • +6

      lol

    • they can't charge your paypal without your knowledge. even if they did the amount of legal issues they'd incur would be insane. and even IF they did it'd be so easy to dispute given you have an email stating the discounted and billed amount.

      • Referring to the subscription
Don't want to cancel it as my thinking is they'll be more likely to honour active ones
Don't want to cancel preauthorisation in case they communicate it to hello fresh

  • -8

Man codes don't work! Not happy Jan.

    • +9

      that's what "expired" means

    • +1

      ya snooze ya lose

  • Can't wait to get my refund!!

    • +2

      how much?

  • +2

This could be a genius ploy by the company. Leak the code and get everyone to order, then cancel and not fulfill the order due to some reason and KEEP every $1 they made from the 4000 clicks so far. Like they did last time

    • +6

if that was the case, I will fight tooth and nail for that dollar!

    • +5

Yep, they learnt from DJ's but figured $0.07 is child's play, let's go for $1!

  • -1

How can it be expired after only 3 hours?

    • out of order

    • +7

      Hi Steggles
Unfortunately we have been experiencing technical issues with one of our voucher codes. It appears your account has been created using this faulty code.

At this stage, your account has been cancelled and you will not receive any orders from HelloFresh. We have removed your details from our system, and any payments taken have been refunded.

If you received this code as a referral from a friend - sit tight. You will receive a replacement code shortly. You can then place a new order to commence a valid subscription with us. We apologise for the inconvenience this causes.

      Yours in Freshness,
      The HelloFresh team

        faulty code haha bullshit response.

  • +3

Just received a message from Hello Fresh.

    • Wonder how they will tell if it was a friend or not?

Got the same email, but had not yet cancelled my account.

  • +1

Just got my "your order has been cancelled" email - siiiiggggghhhhhh

  • +1

Yep, cancelled. To be expected I guess.

  • +1

    Cancelled. Awesome.

  • It is obviously worth their while to run this kind of promotion, but they simply cannot handle so many people signing up at once.

Their largely poor reputation seems to be well deserved.

  • +8

    Order just got cancelled.

    My response to their email:

"As someone who owns their own marketing business, you are full of s***. If you aren't willing to honour the offer, as a result of having no foresight and screwing up, just be honest and say so. If you were smart you would have protected your reputation by saying that you could not honour the offer, though offering an alternative offer. E.g. $20 off a future order etc. Would have considered legitimately using your service if I was happy with the trial, though no longer. You have ruined your reputation in the eyes of a few hundred people today (OzBargain community), well done."

  • +2

    Cancelled. Never again.

    • …you say that like theyre losing something :P

      • +2

Correct because I won't ever deal with them and I won't recommend them either.

        • +1

But you would've before this deal came about? You mean to say, if the store offered a 20% discount, you would've bought from them before today?

        • +1

          LOL

[PRICE ERROR] David Jones Lifestyle Canvas Duffle Bag Navy $0.07 @ David Jones - C&C Only

          bargainist on 28/11/2016 - 17:18
          This will be cancelled.

          Yet butthurt over this one…?

        • -1

@Spackbace: What are you on about? You must be associated with them to be this ''butthurt''.

        • +12

          @bargainist:

Upset? No, I'm laughing hard at the sense of entitlement around here!

Oh noes they didn't give me free shit, I'm never using this company, that I've never used before, again!

        • +1

@Spackbace: yeh but ive got a code & a cc and questionable morals so uhm…yeh

  • +2

Just received an email from them saying my order has been cancelled and my account deleted. They said there was an error with the referral code.

  • +3

Email says they'll send replacement codes… Hope OP will post them here!

  • They cancelled my order.

    http://i.imgur.com/aiRvQ7E.png

    • Annying!

  • +5

Waiting for someone to quote ACCC.

    • +2

I actually think this case is more interesting than the normal price errors - the code and price were/did exactly what they were supposed to be/do, so they can't argue price error.

      Maybe "stock levels"?

Or just some general "we reserve the right…" argument?

      • Or just some general "we reserve the right…" argument?

Pretty reasonable to go with that one. Unless people actually expected a company to fork out $190 for customers they'd never see again?

        • Isn't that the point of the promotion though? It has just gone to a level they didn't expect…

        • +2

          @djkelly69:

I doubt they expected everyone to choose the most expensive option

And I doubt they wanted people to cancel their accounts straight after ordering

        • +1

@Spackbace: I realise that, but anyone who "legitimately" took up their promotion was entitled to do exactly that as well.

Their marketing/business model appears to be built on getting people to try their stuff for cheap prices, and then liking it enough to continue on and pay full price.

        • @djkelly69:

It relies heavily on people forgetting to cancel. Like any subscription based thing really

        • +1

@Spackbace: So not enough people letting them use their predatory business practice is good enough reason to cancel orders?

        • @djkelly69:

          Pretty much! lol

  • So they have showcased their website and services to 4000 new addresses at no time at all…and that was free. Not bad I'd say!
