Hmm. I entered using a couple of email addresses I never use with eBay or PayPal. Did not create any new accounts. Got an email to say 'looks like you have already shopped with us'. Link led to my existing account. So are they checking IP addresses?

Indeed I got the Same saying I was also "nearest and dearest". The feeling certainly isn't mutual.
I gather as I registered this new email address using the same static ip I use my primary account, they thought I was trying to fleece them of $10 claiming I was a new user. Indeed that's exactly what I was doing, but the absence of a $10 voucher still leaves me bitter.
I haven't received any $10 off email yet. Anyone else still waiting?

I can understand them sending targeted offers to inactive accounts every now and again but with something like this they should be rewarding regulars and encourage them to shop more. This way they are probably going to pee off actual customers rather than gain any proper ones. Well done!

I just added an email for my partner who doesn't have an ebay account and the email with the $10 off came yesterday. Still yet to open an ebay account for her.
OK cheers, I did that too but no voucher. I used the same device and IP address as I use for my regular ebay account, which I had probably looked at the same day, so I guess it must be IP address based. Pretty flimsy way to go if it is. Makes no account for shared family computers etc

Hm, sorry to say I think some people must have just got lucky. I entered a new email into the link, then did the same as you - I logged out of my normal account, same IP, signed up a new account straight away. I even linked the same paypal, but I still got a voucher. I don't know why, doesn't seem fair, sorry..

I finally got the email, however I didn't get the full $10 credit! I ordered items which were in $US, and the voucher only credited $US5.99 ie $8.35! Did anyone else have this problem? I've emailed ebay about it.
Received email with the Voucher code. Strangely, I was able to use the voucher on my existing account. Anyone else tried?

Is there a policy that not allow people with multiple accounts? I dont think so!
They cant not abuse this, by randomly ban new creation account.
