        • Yeap,none aswell haha

        • @Jetfire:

You can try and call Big W Bonnyrigg - open till 9pm today. Looks like still have stock according to this comment. Let me know how you go, want to pick one up over the weekend.

Hi all, I picked up the floor stock of this today, but was given the wrong remote control. Can someone please let me know the remote control model that goes with this television (I could not find it on the web, and don't have a manual).

      RM-C3136

      • Thanks Gengar & thanks OP.

      Ha! Had the same experience!

Big W Toowoomba didn't want to sell me their display 48", but they had an unboxed 55" for $400, so I got that. The remote didn't work; took it back in and it turned off the FHD 48" JVC, as well as the 65", 55" and 48" Polaroid TVs they had on display…

  • guys my mate turned on aging mode how do i get out of it ? it just changes colours on the screen :(

    edit

read a comment from another bauhn tv hold the power button on the tv it will exit it :) never letting him touch it again though

    • sent pm
      sorry was out and about
      power button works fine

  • ok

  • Repost Question: Does this model allow disabling of inputs not in use and selection of inputs using just one button (so I can use the "source" key pressed multiple times to scan/toggle through the various inputs).

    • No love:( so rephrased questions :)

      1) Is there an option to disable various inputs so that they are hidden.
      2) is there an option to select a particular input directly from the remote
      3) dors the input select toggle though inputs or do you need to use the arrow keys.

      All advice appreciated!

      • NO

      • neg me all you want mate
I told you 5 times by PM if you want those features spend more money

        • Not sure if you have the right person as I did not neg. In fact I am grateful for you info. Cheers.

  • Having some problems with this TV.

Firstly, all these setting that everyone is talking about like HDMI mode are greyed out and I cannot alter them.

Secondly, I am running a pretty capable GPU (GTX 1070) and am only outputting at 4K 30hz - how do I get 60hz?

    • -1

idk about 1 but 2 means your cable isnt supporting it proberly a 1.4 hdmi cable which is capped for bandwidth that wont meet the bandwith for 60hz 4k

    • Mine is GTX 1070 too. In Nvidia panel go to change resolution option. There is an option to change HZ on the right of the resolution table. If it doesn't let you (grayed or not in present) , you are able to customize the resolution manually or try another cable as per Alien's advice. I have some incompatibility connecting this tv in 60Hz and receiver at the same time. The screen jumps sometime and changes something. In 30hz it doesn't. It's stable. BTW TV recognizes 60Hz automatically , nothing to adjust within. Connect the TV only to the GPU to test if you get the 60Hz to chose in NVIDIA panel..

    • Turn on HDMI Enhanced mode before you do anything else
your pc wont do 60hz chroma 4:4:4 or RGB Full until you do this :)

      • Thanks for the information. How do I turn on HDMI enhanced mode - the option is greyed out.

        • Have you got an actual HDMI 2.0 source plugged in

          ie PS4 / Xbox One S etc
the option works for me, you cannot change it on the TV mode, you MUST be in HDMI
consulting the instructions with the set should provide further details

Also I wouldn't run the 60hz mode via anything but direct connection, I don't think the setup works very well outside of this parameter
Turning on CEC might fix your issue in the menus but I have had better sucess with a direct HDMI connection to the TV rather than going through other devices which can cause issues with cheaper controller boards used in these sets

        • @shawncro 222:

          Hmm, still having problems.

I understand that I have an actual HDMI 2.0 source plugged in. I have a direct connection between my GTX 1070 and the TV, and have tried two different HDMI cables.

Oddly, I have the option of running 4K 60Hz through the NVIDIA control panel, however no matter what settings I choose, the image seems relatively poor (colour and jagged lines) compared to 30Hz.

Here is my settings menu, accessed from an HDMI channel. HDMI mode is greyed out, meaning that I am unable to change it (even if I set the mode to 'personal').

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Update: I managed to figure out how to change to HDMI enhanced mode, but I'm still finding that 60Hz creates a poorer looking image where curved edges seem jagged.

        • @soaringphoenix:

Have you set the video card to display Chroma 4:4:4 or Full RGB first?

        • @shawncro 222:

Thank you very much for your reply.

Hmm, this might be where the problem lies. When I change the resolution to 60Hz, the output colour format changes to YCbCr420, and does not let me select any other options.

When I am in 30Hz, I have the option of full RGB and YCbCr444.

I'm not sure how to select 444 in 60Hz mode?

I have HDMI Enhanced enabled on the TV unit.

        • @soaringphoenix:

Might be something wrong with your cable mate, to get full 4:4:4 cables matter A LOT
My GTX970 Outputs Chroma 4:4:4 and Full RGB 60hz as its HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2

Seems a little strange, possibly try changing the port you are using to perhaps 1 or 2
I know the cheaper sets can be fussy in that regard
HDMI Enhanced should give you those options

        • @soaringphoenix: As much the deal is good, I was having the multiple problems too:
          - The quality of a video changes to poor as soon as I maximize the video player to full. The video becomes poor and a bit darker.
-The icons on the desktop are too small at 100% of desktop scaling. If I upscale / resize the desktop's text / icons and apps using windows desktop sizing, the 175% looks great , but:
-The macros on my desktop that attached to mouse coordinate clicks don't work ( the mouse addresses to the wrong place)
-The slider in PowerDVD player to mark the current playing position doesn't work. (not a biggy but it indicates is something wrong)
          - The JVC doesn't turn on with the PC and it takes way too long for it to go to sleep if the PC is off
-Turning on JVC turns on the receiver even if I chose in CEC menu not too. Turning CEC effects seeing video signal thru the receiver.
          - Connected JVC thru the HDMI. and the receiver thru the DisplayPort to get the Dolby Digital and DTS sound. the case GPU->TV-> Receiver all thru HDMI cables did not give to the receiver DTS and DD sound , but pro-logic only.
-By some reason the JVS didn't want to produce 4K if connected to the DisplayPort. It could be the GPU's problem or TVs. Have no idea.
Neither receiver was getting the 4K. Therefor I have problems duplicating the desktops: TV to GPU's HDMI and Receiver is to GPU's DisplayPort. Nvidia did not give the option for 4K in the panel even the display (JVC) was working in 4K. Just in case I needed to create the 4K resolution manually to be able to confirm that I am in 4K res.
-Some video on this JVC tv looks great Most of the Bluray quality ones are pleasure to watch. my FHD 50" TV shows larger pixels than the JVC. Also the black color on the JVC looks way better as well. But Some (downloaded) videos are hard to adjust. I need always play with the sharpness and brightness to make it look good.
If the JVC would have the VGA for every day computing and HDMI for movies in full screen and games - IMO it would be the best solution.
I've given up trying. Sold the JVC. I'm waiting for another deal under $500 for a 50' TV. I wish the recent deal for Hisense would be $500 :) Or is it a dream?

  • Picked up a 49 inch of this one yesterday. Very happy so far with the specs. UHD 4k, smart TV, WiFi connectivity, quad core processor, android software. All this for $400 price tag. What a bargain. Plugged in Telstra TV in it straight away, played 4k videos from YouTube and Netflix, looks very good. Sound is quite loud and not that bad as well. Very nice unit. Got lucky to have picked up the last box from the shelf.

    • What's the model number for this 49 inch Smart TV variant dj2685?

      • It's LT-49N675a

    • Has it got VGA connection?

  • Is there any stock left at Penrith Big W?

  • so it looks like the 48" model is not a smart TV.. whereas the 49" variant has Wifi and has Smart functions?

    • which are next to useless on these cheaper sets, don't let people tell you any different
Gaming on them would be a different experience to the "dumb" 48 inch version which by the way packs a lot of features for 329.80

Chromecast via HDMI makes this unit "smart" in about 20 seconds without the extra input lag / bloating and Processing junk

      • The smart functions on 49inch are working absolutely fine. I don't see how they are useless. For a $350 unit it packs a lot of features without having to buy additional chromecast or any other 'smart' devices. Not sure about the gaming experience difference between 48 inch and 49 inch. I'd say it'd be pretty much the same since both units have 60hz refresh rates.

        • The 48 inch would have less input lag as its not running through the "smart system"

I am happy with the 48 inch unit, not really going to argue over a whole inch

Android TV's in the cheaper segment are usually junk for gaming but if it makes you happy thats the main thing
I play competitive overwatch and this 48 inch "dumb" tv works perfectly fine with under 50ms input lag which is excellent for LCD tvs, I think last measurement come to 42ms which isn't all that bad granted my 1080p H6510BD projector does 28ms

Btw refresh rate and input lag work hand in hand, refresh rate would limit the maximum frames per second you can achieve which over 4k is 60fps anyway even on the best console, when it comes to PC then thats a whole different ball game with freesync etc, 30hz vs 60hz is also noticable with the mouse on cheaper 4k tvs

for the money both sets look like good value

  • Price is $469… finally found stock today but was told it's no longer $329 so I didn't buy.

    • Funny I saw it 328 yesterday. It's a clearance item so I don't see why they're raising the prices??

      • It was on special for a certain time

  • Bunch of dead pixels on mine… Enter the second grade panel!! Straight back for a refund. Unfortunately you do get what you pay for…

  • Does anyone have optimal settings for using as a TV. Just bought one for my folks who won't be gaming.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Just purchased an ex-demo Viano 55" UHD from BigW with gift cards for about $380. Picture not quite as good as the JVC but for the price we paid it's unbeatable.

  • Did anyone see this in a Perth store? It seems we miss out on all these awesome deals!

    • I bought mine at Kingsway WA, there was about 2 left two weeks ago. I believe Whitfords had some but might have run out by now.

    • I got 2nd last at Livingstone Marketplace (Canning Vale), also about 2 weeks ago. Was out the back, had to ask.

    • Thanks dudes, what a steal! Can't believe I missed it. You guys happy with them?

      Thanks again
