  • Does anyone know what happens after the initial 12 months? Does the data revert to 5GB, or does it continue with 10GB as a month to month?

    • Data (and contract terms) remains 10gb until you recontract.

  • Do I get $150 Cashreward as well?

    • Only if you buy a plan with a new handset.

  • IDD is not free, there is an option to add IDD for another $10 per month as a bolton.

    • In the checkout it takes $10 off for free IDD.

  • Does anyone know if it works for Uni staff as well?

  • Never quite understood why Telstra has been a bit stingy on overseas SMS with the lower plans. Can't take it out from the cap even if they charged more.

  • Hey guys, when does this deal expire? Or does it even expire?

I want to wait for the Galaxy S8 to come out in April before committing to a fixed term contract.

    • +1

      22 Jan - 18 days left

has been extended once, likely due to optus

could possibly sign up now, then add mro for s8 later or recontract

  • Is anyone else just seeing the $40 for 5GB plan?

When I try to check out with this plan it shows no bonus data or IDD calls at the final order page. Any suggestions?

  • Just finished on live chat recontacted $40 a month with 10GB. Did the Mrs phone as well while i was at it

    • Did you get the international calls part included too?

  • Thanks PM, after a long chat with representative , signed up for $50 plan offering 15Gb data + unlimited national calls + unlimited calls to 10 countries

    • wow 15gb nice how did you get that

      • My earlier 40/7GB contract expired on Nov and as soon as I saw this deal I said the chat representative that Vodafone is ready to offer
40/15GB +unlimited calls + 300 mins calls to few countries. She/he mentioned I could take this 50 plan or 40 plan the pm had posted.

She mentioned 50 plan was originally 70 plan with a 20 credit applied each month and 40 plan was originally 50 plan with 10 credit applied monthly.

I was pushing hard for a recontracting bonus($250), which they once offeed me when I signed up for 40 plan. But that demand was lost in the negotiations.

The 50 plan comes originally with 10gb, and after a few bonus data added, it now offers 15.5GB along with free Apple music for an year.

        • does voda have a plan where its 40/15GB? i was looking at their webpage and its 50/15GB mate.

        • @squarepants: I didn't see voda or optus, it was purely a statement for low ball negotiation.

  • I can not seem to get the 5+5GB plan at $40/month, the only option at UniDAYS is the $40 5GB plan. Am I missing something here?

  • So I managed to get through the first few steps in signing up, the IDD is bolt on and this adds $10 extra to the monthly charge, so it becomes $60/month, and when I get to the final page, UniDAYS $10 off is applied and the final monthly charge sits at $50? How did you guys get $40/month?

    • It's not the clearest sign-up process I grant you…..Before you get the final submit button you'll see a summary that says "minimum charge over 12 months $480" {ie $40 a month}, the IDD becomes free and there is a bonus 5GB/month.

To be safe, take a pic or a screen shot of this summary.

This has EXPIRED, I decided to wait until i was closer to my billing DOM but it no longer works.

So I couldn't get this to work and spoke with Jonathan on the live chat

Jonathan-"Thanks for bringing that up Ryan, I am actually seeing the same thing however this has been escalated and this offer has been discontinued."
Jonathan-"And that's why that offer is no longer appearing on our website."
Ryan- "what about the $10 IDD pack that was associated with that deal"
Jonathan- So long as the offers are present or being advertised on our telstra official website. You will definitely get the offer"

I asked to speak to his supervisor Brian
Brian- This is Brian one of the supervisor here in Telstra Live Chat, Let me be precise and quick here."
Brian- "This offer already ended on our end and this is already taken down in our website. If you would like to take that offer, kindly take note that there is no guarantee that this will be approved on our end as this kind of offer no longer exists with us."

They also wouldnt extend for my case

  • Today I thought that I'd ring a few stores as we have nobody at Uni, to see if anyone would do the $40 5GB deal in-store on Telstra, not just online as we didn't want to be without our phones for a period. I wanted to keep our existing numbers. 2 stores said that would do the $50 10GB (5GB+5GB) deal and give me a $10 a month discount on all the phones brought over. We ended up doing one bill and sharing the data for 4 phones and 40GB. I was also told that the bonus 5GB would continue after the 12 months until I negotiated another deal. He ended up processing a manual credit for the 1st phone of $120 ($10 x 12 months) which would go on our first bill and the other 3 phones would get a monthly $10 credit. We all also got 6 months of Apple music included, so overall I was really happy with this deal. :) Oh and I just checked and got the Netflix deal too - happy days!! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/285171

    • Which store did you speak with?

      • WA - Innaloo and Joondalup said that they would do this. I decided to ring around to see who would do the best deal before heading to the shop.

        • Ah, too bad I am in NSW. Thanks anyways!
