Huawei P9 Heating up When Playing Games and Streaming Clips

Hi all,

Bought the Huawei P9 few weeks ago from the JB Hi-Fi sale @ $599. Awesome upgrade from the Nexus 5 as it was starting to lag and become very slow at times.

Been using it for about a week now and just wanted to see if it is normal for the phone to heat up when gaming, downloading multiple apps from the store and streaming YouTube. The phone starts to heat after about a minute in and gets very warm.

Couldn't find much information on the web and I know Ozbargainers are raving this phone.

  • I'm pretty sure it is normal for phones to run hot when gaming or multitasking, just like how a computer does the same when doing the same thing…

    • I've had a Note 4 and currently S7E as a work phone. Both runs very cool doing the same thing hence I'm thinking it may be a faulty battery in the P9?

      • My note 3 heats up when I play games on it and so does my Moto X Style… Depends on how you define "cool" because you have to remember that the screen itself gives off heat and the battery will heat up when you do anything intensive.
