  • Thanks. To anyone who has used this: how does it compare to the popular Stocard?

  • I would say they're different, I only use Stocard to store my all sorts of loyalty cards - saved a lot of my wallet spaces. I'm not that confident to use it store logins yet.
For store password for online bank, cc, accounts, you'd better use a dedicated password manager, currently LastPass is the best free app, also sync from desktop with browser addons. many others at a cost, some with more features - worth another topic

Roger that. I downloaded it for myself to try.

I really like that your data stays in YOUR account, e.g., iCloud or Dropbox (with the possibility of sync?). Stocard has "Stocard Cloud" for backup, and AFAIK has some unanswered questions around privacy, security, etc.

But I much prefer Stocard's interface, which I find far more accessible.

So for me, I might stick with Stocard, but without using their Backup.

LastPass is a great solution, but probably need their paid ($1 a month?) service for sync sanity across devices. I've been using 1Password for years, which is definitely pricier but we find on the whole totally awesome.

      • Second 1password.

Scored a free 'pro' upgrade for iOS a few years back and it's great. Just wish I could sync with my computer without forking out a whole heap of money :(

But thats the price I pay. Basically used to store password for my computer now

Lastpass can sync to multi devices. I tried two android with app and 3 laptops with Chrome addon. no issue and all free.

        • Right. This is totally new — as in, just changed in Nov 2016.

          That makes it exceptional value.

    • Google will store all your passwords for free as well if you use the chrome browser. Works across multiple devices/platforms as well.

      • true, also firefox can do the same thing.

      • Yes that's right. I believe all major browsers offer the capability, so it's down to a matter of who you trust.

My trust/comfort level is a little less with those who profit directly (as their primary business model) from information gained and collected about you, but each to their own.
