  • Waiting for hoyts to join the party!

  • I have never been to gold class - what are people's thoughts on it?

    • +1

At retail prices I wouldn't recommend it. For $20, it's worth it, plus you get your overly expensive food and alcohol delivered to your table.

    • For $20, worth to try it out. But won't use it regularly.

  • Not usable at Event, VILLAGE ONLY

50 Shades Darker releases on Valentines Day if any one wants to treat their missus to a pre dinner gold class movie. I guarantee you will get some hoo haa that night :D

Excludes Valentines Day, no +ve vote from me.

    • Not permitted for use on Valentine's day

  • I don't suppose they let you pay by gift card do they?

  • Got 10 standard tickets! Thanks OP

    • You're gonna see 10 (or 5) movies in February? Ooof

      • just 5

Wow! Can't delete or edit my own comments (developers please add that feature, coz damn frick hell, that's unreal.)

    IMPORTANT!

** GOLD CLASS Voucher is only available for sessions screening from Monday to Thursday from 1st February, 2017 to 1st March, 2017. **

** Standard CLASS Voucher is only available for sessions screening from 1st February, 2017 to 1st March, 2017. **

Monday to Thursday limitation is only for Gold Class

Anyway, you should always read the Terms & Conditions for yourself ;)

  • As many have pointed out, these prices are fantastic, but it's only available in February.

Check the movies screening in Feb before buying tickets.

    The available movies look terrible.

  • son of a beach, bought a couple gold class for weekend

    • Well then you okay as these aren't valid until Feb 1st and not on Weekends.

  • The email I got states they are redeemable from 1 Feb to 28th Feb :) (not 1 March)….unsure why but 1 day could make all the difference for some! Check carefully!

    • I think Village ones are valid until 1 Mar and Event until 28 Feb

  • Not a lot of great films on. Too bad lego batman is delayed for aus screening.

    • +3

Best part is, they admitted that delaying The Lego Movie was a disaster, and promised not to do it again. So much for that.

“On the twin issue of availability, we made one hell of a mistake with Lego (Movie),” Village Roadshow’s co-chairman Burke, told the forum. “It was an Australian film, we financed it together with Warner Brothers and it was made here in Kings Cross, in Australia, and because it was so important we held it for a holiday period. It was a disaster.

“It caused it to be pirated very widely. As a consequence – no more – our policy going forward is that all our movies will be released within the time and date of the United States.”

I guess they're ok with us pirating it.

      • Yeah wtfudge? They want to lose millions? Fine…

        • +1

I always email the studios when they delay a movie release in Oz, just to inform them that I'll be pirating it for that reason…I'm helpful that way! ;)

        • @StewBalls:
Haha nice! Do you ever get a response?

  • Wed don't have any of these in WA - damn you Village, damn you to hell….

  • +2

There are actually quite a few movies that will be showing in Feb that should be worth seeing:

These come out in Jan and should still be showing in Feb:

    • Lion - Golden Globe nominated
    • Moonlight - Golden Globe best picture
    • Live By Night - Ben Affleck directed
    • XXX
    • Split - M Knight Shyamalan movie starring Professor X himself.

    Feb Movies

    • Manchester By the Sea - Golden Globe nominated
    • The Great Wall - for novelty value
    • Patriot's Day - Mark Wahlberg movie about the Boston Marathon bombing
    • Fifty Shades Darker
    • Hidden Figures - about the US space program
    • Silence - Martin Scorsese movie
    • Trainspotting 2
    • Rings

No big blockbusters… but surely there is 1 or 2 movies there for everyone.

    • Is Fantastic Beasts still playing?

      • Don't think so, not at my local anyway.

    • Do you think La La Land will still be showing by Feb?

      • +1

Could be, especially if it does well at the Oscars. It is a great movie 🙂

      • +1

        100%.

Oscar nominations are Jan 24, every film that is nominated will get extended/wider releases.
(La La Land, Manchester By The Sea, Moonlight, Lion. Possibly Fences, Silence, Jackie)

  • Wait, what do you actually get from Gold Class other than larger comfy seats?

    • Drunk.

      • I've learned not to drink at Cinema's anymore… nothing worse than sitting there with a full bladder and the nearest toilet is 5-10mins away.

  • Can you use these at the place to book? Not keen on booking fees…

    • Also wondering this

  • Do tickets work for EventCinemas?

  • Does the $8 tickets stack with Cinebuzz points?

I'm a movie theater regular, not a great load of good movies out in this period =/

    • +1

I think they do if you show your CInebuzz/Enter it online when booking

  • Does this cover all event cinemas?

  • Damn, before you click on to purchase, the terms and conditions state that Coburg (drive-in) cinemas are covered in the terms and conditions. Once you purchase and download your evoucher, it excludes Coburg.

  • Bought one gold class for event cinemas. Can't wait for john wick 2. Would have enjoyed it at imax but they tore that down :(

  • Does the fact John Wick 2 doesn't appear on the Village website mean it likely won't show there? Hence the discounted tickets as recompense to disgruntled movie goers?

  • Telstra Thanks tickets at the same price for feb

  • What movies can you use the $8 ticks for?

  • So are these posted by snail mail or something?

  • Offer extended till 22nd Jan (For Event Cinema tickets)

  • Thanks for posting the deal :) Got 6 :)
