Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

Buy a cheap android phone. No issues. None… never. Skivvy kiddies, you over pay for your Apple toys, if you don't want to pay $25-40 for a android phones, then you'll over pay for your fuel.

Nice thing is if you activate the sim, you'll get 2 x 711 a/cs

There was a $22.50 Telstra android phone last week. Use the phone to lock in …log into that a/c on your skivvyPhone. You get the locked in price on your skivvy phone!!!;;!

  • I logged out of my account and now I can't log in. Guess I have to get them to send me the gift cards

    • U got the warning email?

      • Yes

  • -1

yet to receive any email, and have been a regular weekly user of Schema's website for the last few months.

Will transfer across to using NOX now. Had a fiddle with it last night, but I'm guessing I have to install the modified APK linked a few pages back?

    • +4

Nope you use the normal app and just change the location through nox

      • Might be a dumb question as I am new to this, but when I go to the app store (Android) it comes up with quite a few different apps called Nox. Which one should I be downloading to change the location?

        • +6

So Nox is pretty much an Android emulator, you need to download nox on to your laptop or PC and it is basically a mobile phone on your computer.
Once you've done that you install 7/11 through the app store on your Nox system and change the location on Nox and that's pretty much it :) (there's a location button thing on the side when in nox)

          • @shapers: Thanks for that, very helpful. Any idea if there is a way to change the location on my android phone directly without using the pc/laptop?

            • +1

@ABZ300: Yep so assuming you haven't tried it - you can get the modified APK from here then download a fake GPS app to change the location. (You need to enable mock locations from developer mode). I've been using this method and haven't received any email or anything :)

              • @shapers: I did try that way when i first came across it, however it stopped working a day or so later as it kept telling me there was an updated verison to download, which is when i came across &using the other website to get to the lower price. However thought i would see if there was a way to change the location of the phone while still using the normal 7/11 app rather than the modified apk verisons. Thanks for your replies, very helpful.

                • @ABZ300: there is an updated version of the apk out there

      • ah righto, so the modified APK is only if you want to do it on your phone, but if I just use the PC, then just using NOX is fine.

        • bingo

  • Hi guys. Where can I download the modified apk?

  • I wonder what the regular site users that avoided the email were doing differently to those who got it. There might be another thing 7-11 are looking at rather than the site's IP address…
Does anyone know what sort of user information gets tracked during the lock in & subsequent purchase? Could some privacy apps on a mobile interfere with the purchase tracking and hence that's how some people weren't connected to the site?

    • I used the fuel site and haven't received an email. I use Pi-Hole on the home network and only locked in fuel from home.

    • i have no idea, but i had locked in both from home PC and work PC, so don't know if that made any difference. no email for me.

    • +2

I never got an email, only a notification about security when I opened the app a day later or so. But I never locked in with a publicly hosted version.

REMINDER: Protect your account by securing your device, regularly changing your password, and not sharing your log-in credentials with anyone

The only things that are sent to 7/11 when you login are your device id, the device model, email and password. And then when you do lock in it wants your location (latitude/longitude), how much fuel you want to lock and the fuel type.

Apart from that stuff there is their usual analytics which tracks everything from opening the app to mock location errors to logging in to starting a fuel lock.

      • Freighter is the device id and model a static variable?

        • Device id, no. That's how the public version allowed so many people to log in. It's set when you login to a random 15 character string on line 290.

Device name, yes it was. On line 288 you can change your device name and OS version to what you actually use to make it less suspicious.

I was going to push an update over the weekend to make it easier to adjust those I just never tested it (yet).

      • Hmmm makes it hard to pinpoint how they determined which accounts to close down. I wonder if it was something in the analytics? As with the inconsistency, it could be explained by people who do and don't have device-wide privacy apps? Or could they have compared the device model of the lock with the device model of when it was redeemed?

Been working on this over the afternoon and into the night. A small little tool called iFakeLocation which mocks locations for iDevices - can be used for any app and no jailbreak is required. Tested with iPhone 6 and 6 Plus on iOS 9.3, 12.1 and 12.2.

    https://github.com/master131/iFakeLocation

Download is in the zip file on the Release tab.

    • Does it need to be side loaded weekly?

      • +1

There's no sideloading involved. You just plug your iDevice into your PC and run the tool from your PC whenever you want to mock location (which means you can't really do it on-the-go).

        • Oh. I didn’t realise it was tethered.

    • Thanks! It worked as expected.

      iPhone Xs Max 12.2

    • Hi. Great stuff! Is this windows only?

    • Many thanks for your efforts. I got it to work. First, the maps wouldn't load (work internet) so I used hotspot from my phone. Then, developer dmg wouldn't download, so I changed the location of the app, then it worked. Then, it couldn't load the developer disk - had to turn off hotspot, then it worked. Then I could get the fake location.

    • @master131 - Is it possible to get a DMG version for us Mac users ?

    • Thanks so much master! This tool is fantastic. Just had to install iTunes and it worked first go

    • Hey master! Thanks so much for this! I can get it recognising my iPhone X… and I can click on 'set my location' but I can't seem to get it to actually change to that GPS locations.

      I'm running it on MACOSX

      • +1

I can give you tips on getting it to work on an iPhone via a jailbreak if you like.

        • I'm on software 12.2? Can you jailbreak this? I'm keen to hear your tips! Thanks!

  • -1

I have never used NOX , is it safe to install ?

    • I think poster means does it contain a lot spy/malware?

  • I emailed support to give them my address so they can send the gift card, and then got emailed a case number, I've now gotten another email saying the matter is 'resolved' but the comment field is completely blank. They haven't committed to sending it.

If they've stolen my money can I do a charge back or anything?

    • Have you emailed/called them back for confirmation?

      • It was an automated email

Please be advised that your recent contact to Customer Service has now been resolved. Please see below for the resolution to your enquiry.

        Closure Notes:

This task has been resolved automatically as part of the first call resolved functionality.

We thank you for taking the time to contact us and look forward to hearing from you again soon.

If the response you received did not meet your expectations, please respond to this email with Reject in the first line, or click on this and your enquiry will be re-opened.

        • Have you emailed/called them back since you are not sure that they will be sending you the GC.

        • How much have you got tied up?
They've got to refund your money.

If you log into the app does it show your balance is $0?

    • I received the same email as well.

      • Just follow up with them again, they replied back once I did and confirmed they were sending the gift card to my address.

        • +1

Yep they told me that too.

  • Is anyone else having their root detected? I have ticked the 7-11 app in magisk hide. It has worked perfectly for a year but all of a sudden today I run 7-11 app and it says Rooted Device Detected.

    • Are you sure Magisk Hide is working correctly? The app uses the RootBeer library by scottyab [and doesn't seem to mention it in the terms & conditions page which might be a software licensing violation]. Try the RootBeer sample app and check if it detects that you are rooted (uses the same detection code as 7-11). You can also use the patched APK in the previous pages.

      https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scottyab.r…

Note that the "Root Management Apps", "Potentially Dangerous Apps", "BusyBox", "SELinux" and "Root Cloaking Apps" checks are (currently) not used.

      • I removed then reinstalled magisk manager and it resolved my issue! Cheers.

I'm SURE 7 Eleven will be monitoring this thread closely for all the possible ideas for app patching to ensure the terms and conditions are followed….everyone contributing is providing valuable information…they should be paying you ;)

    • +11

If they are, it doesn't seemed to have helped them too much for the last couple of years that this thread has been running and everyone has been able to block!

      • +3

Yeah, I can imagine 7-eleven hiring master131 on big $$ to be their IT Systems guy, to help shut this thing down. Kind of reads like a movie script haha.

  • +16

If 7-11 is reading this thread, then you should be happy that there is a group of people actually buying your fuel every week, we are not re-selling the fuel, we are buying for personal use. So you should not be too strict on us. We are supporting your business, in return, you areselling cheap fuel to us. win-win.

    • +19

You are getting downvoted, but I kind of agree with you. If not for this app, I wouldn't be using 7/11 fuel as often as I am (was, until banned). Other petrol stations had the same price I was able to get on the fuel lock app, but I went with 7/11 because I liked the savings.

      • +14

I agree, I never used 7/11 prior to this hack. They certainly have more business from me…… Although I think I'm ahead with all the Jan freebies and fuel savings.

        • +2

Same here. It was woolies or costco.

      • he's getting downvoted because beggars can't be choosers

      • +1

tbh if I didn't use 7/11, I'd follow the general fuel cycle more closely and fill up at woolies caltex or puma when it's cheap, and fill up only the bare minimum when it's not cheap.

Still haven't decided what I'll do if/when I get my physical voucher. My other accts only have like $4 on one and $1 on the other; im not keen on putting more money into them if they're gonna get terminated too.

        • Someone said you can load a voucher onto an account in store

  • +5

There were a few requests earlier to make iFakeLocation cross-platform, so now it runs on Windows, Mac OSX (Sierra 10.12 and above) and Ubuntu (16.04). Please make sure to have the necessary requirements installed before trying to run the app (read the README on the main page). Again, it's small little tool which mocks locations for iDevices via USB. Does not require any jailbreak.

    https://github.com/master131/iFakeLocation

    • Hi and thanks for all your hard work!

Is this no longer working? As I downloaded, but can't seem to find the actual program. Unless I'm doing something wrong?

      Cheers!

EDIT: Worked it out. Thanks :)

  • +1

Any chance 7/11 would block any CC's used with another account and the fuel locker? Tried adding mine to a new account but it won't accept, says error code "Light"

    • Actually, can't add any CC's to the app atm, must be a broader issue.

    • Same issue, tried multiple cards. Ended up just going and getting a gift card

      • That's fine in the short term but a bit of a pain to do every time isn't it? Hopefully it's just a temporary issue

        • +1

Technically yes but you only have to do it once. When you pay for the fuel use a card you have on you, not the App credit. The credit will always stay in your account for future lock-ins :)

          • +1

@Preet: Ah, right… well anyway, there must be an issue application wide - I tried with a newly setup account and can't add any credit cards at the moment.

  • For anyone wondering, NOX worked great for me. I've created a new account, new email, dummy mobile number, topped up the account with a gift card. Installed NOX, locked in a price and just used the 11-Seven to see whats cheap where. Filled up. All good.

I noticed on NOX there maybe a way to change Device ID. Was doing some Googling…. haven't actually tried it yet. But I'll see if I can change it to what my actual phone is. Model will be different but oh well.

    Back in business baby!

    • "I noticed on NOX there maybe a way to change Device ID. Was doing some Googling…. haven't actually tried it yet. But I'll see if I can change it to what my actual phone is. Model will be different but oh well."

      Can do multi-instance NOX

      • that's only available through Windows and not on OSx

      • Thanks mate. Will have a tinker tonight :)

    • I'm looking at doing this too, did you use the same name? Also, how did you top up the account with a gift card?

      • Same name as in Device ID? I haven't yet, but cwongtech said it's possible, just gotta start a new instance.

Gift card - go to a 7 Eleven, buy a 7 Eleven gift card, use card to top up App account by clicking "My Card" top right in the App.

        • Sorry meant same name as banned account

          • @SuperC: Nah I used a new name, new email, fake mobile number.

            • +1

@Preet: Perfect, yeah that works. Thanks for the advice.

            • @Preet: Oh don't they check the mobile#?

    • Anyone having issues in nox setting the location? My google maps stops working and I have to set the manually set the coordinates in.

      • Having the same issue.
I just positioned the map over the area I wanted and clicked move here. I guess it randomises the exact lock in location a bit which is good, if they start tracking that sort of thing.

      • I typed in an actual address instead of using the pin dropper.

Just typed in an address close by to the petrol station I wanted

      • +1

I'm getting a "Google maps won't load" message with NOX. Anyone else seen that?

      • Yes, same problem . I just typed in lat/long co-ord’s And clicked move there and it worked.
Sounds like Nox hasn’t paid their google maps licence or something like that.

      • I updated my emulator and google maps started working again

    • Thankyou NOX worked great for me too

  • +1

Use baidu maps. In the drop down box in nox Move manually to desired local

  • Is Nox a bit unreliable when booting? A couple of times it has stopped at 34%, 37% or 41%. Only managed to boot it once properly since installing.

    • Mine has always booted up 100%. Is your hardware a bit old?

    • I had to uninstall one security patch on Win 10. Kept getting a blue screen at say 70%. That fixed it. Can't remember the security patch off the top of my head, but it was a common issue with NOX and Win 10 and that particular patch.

      • Reasonably old but still not terrible - i7 earlier generation, geforce GT730, windows 7 though! It did load once and worked fine which is what makes me wonder what the issue is.

        • Just checked and hardware virtualisation is enabled.

          • +1

@leyton01: I was running v5 (didn't read the instructions) and created a new instance of 7.1.2. It now gets to 67% or 71%, not sure if this is better or just as bad??

  • Does anybody know how to get your Android devices Device ID? Will probably run an insurance of the script locally with the same ID

    • Why would you want the same android ID?

      • +1

If they are talking about the script I made, why would you not want the same android ID if you are only running it for yourself?

That way it looks like you've locked in from your own device, not a random one.

edit: I assume this will work: http://www.android.pk/blog/faqs/how-to-find-your-android-dev…

        • "If they are talking about the script I made, why would you not want the same android ID if you are only running it for yourself?"

2 fuel locks every 24 hours per device ID :)

I see, yeah, I guess if you have jumping device IDs.. that could be highly suspicious

        • Yep, that's what I meant. I don't know how they picked up specific users but my suspicion is that that they may have been picking people up based on number of ID changes.

That's assuming the script generates a new one each time, which I seen to recall is the case?
