Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 500GB SSD $319 Delivered @ Shopping Express

220

First post so go easy please, long time lurker. 24 Hour Deal.
Not a bad deal for 500GB of M.2, but not the cheapest ever I'm sure. However, you do get free shipping and 2x Movie tickets so it's not too bad. 960 EVO has amazing speeds only second to the 960 PRO. For most users the difference will be negligible unless you're a power user and know what you're getting the extra speed for.

EDIT: Free 2 x Hoyts Tickets is from SE's current promotion (that you can see on their front page or in their emails) that if you spend over $200 you will receive two free adult movie tickets in your Cart at checkout :)

Mod: Movie tickets don't apply to this item, only items in this list - movie tickets will add to your cart.

  • Current cheapest on static ice + 2 free movie tickets. Nice deal OP :)

  • Please clarify— the link provided has nothing about movie tickets.

Looks like a good deal, though, if correct.

    :)

    • Sorry! Will edit! It's SE's current deal where if you spend anything over $200, two movie tickets will appear in your basket at checkout. Was a nice surprise as I was only after the M.2 haha :)

  • Optus1 offers internet/mobile customers $11.50 hoyts tickets.

If you live in Sydney, you probably won't have trouble finding a Hoyts Theatre close to you.

    • If you live in the other 99% of the country you might have a slightly harder time.

      • Oh boo hoo.
Sydney and Melbourne residents are all that matter

        • There's far more event cinemas in Sydney than there are Hoyts lol
And Telstra Thanks gets you $12 tickets for them

        • @Rail Rider95:

We're talking about Hoyts tickets here.

        • +1

          @Rail Rider95:
True, and having lived in Melbourne all my life in the past, IMHO I can say that Hoyts is Event's (Village) poorer cousin, whereas in Melbourne it's the other way around.

  • Nice piece of equipment.

  • +1

perfect valentines gift. something for everyone

  • Dang just paid $329 2 days ago… This drive is tiny

  • If only I hadn't bought that robot vaccuum cleaner yesterday…..

    • Use your credit card.

  • The 1TB version is also on sale for $635 which is the cheapest price at present one you include the free shipping. The movie tickets are again a bonus.

  • can anyone confirm that you get the two free movie tickets?
I went to purchase it but cant see anything at the checkout screen mentioning it :(
it does say for selected items… HELP PLZ ONLY 12 hours and 27 minutes to grab this deal hehe

    • I can confirm, will upload invoice later if you wish. I think they may have removed it now. There was one Samsung EVO M2 deal apart of the 'For Her Category' a day or two ago… I gotta go work now, that's a shame they changed it :(

  • :( just clicked on the link on the home page. it only selected items that get you the free movie tickets and the Samsung 960 EVO isnt one
    dam that sucks!

    • I think it was a day or two ago apart of the 'For Her' options, it seems they have removed it now though. I have the free movie tickets which I can upload the invoice for later if you want. Gotta go work now, but the tickets were valued at $44. :(

  • Does anyone know why the Samsung 960 EVO is 500GB but the 960 Pro is 512GB?

    • Don't quote me on this, but I imagine it's probably like binning for graphics cards. So whatever didn't make the cut to become say a 960 PRO becomes a 960 EVO if it has speeds that are allowable inside set parameters. So eg. if it had 506GB instead of 512GB, it doesn't make the cut to be a 960 PRO but it qualifies as an EVO. They then clean up the drive by locking off the odd ends to an even 500GB. Or so that's my understanding haha. I may be completely wrong :P

    • I think they wanted to further differentiate the two lines, and keep one as the clear premium. If they were both 500GB, an uninformed consumer would need to ask what is the difference because it wouldn't be immediately obvious. But this way they see they are not identical, and assume the 512GB is the premium card, then look up what else is premium about it.

      Just a theory.

Some manufacturers use the rounded numbers, others use the slightly higher capacities that don't form nice and rounded numbers. Samsung uses both types for different product ranges.
