      • I did try that, but the search link shared in thread doesn't work on mobile devices/browsers. It just searches all of eBay.

I did try that, but the search link shared in thread doesn't work on mobile devices/browsers. It just searches all of eBay.

          Then use a non-mobile device.

Or simply scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Classic Site"

          It's not hard.

    • Ah another question I can answer tonight. Yes they do mate! Anything else just let me know.

  • Is there a search link available yet?

    • +26
      • Thank you!

      • Sorry, I know this sounds stupid, but how do I search using that link?

        • +4

Just type whatever you want in the search bar and it'll search through all the stores in the promotion. For example you can replace it to search for a tv

      • +1

        My man!

      • +4

        search link (ebay.com.au)

Just to add, since people here don't realise what that means.

NOTE: YOU CANNOT SEARCH MULTIPLE SELLERS ON MOBILE DEVICE

So, BlazinPast's posted link will not work on a mobile device.

If your mobile diverts to a "m.ebay.com.au" web address…

Scroll down that page then click on "CLASSIC SITE" at the bottom right

        Then search.

  • damn no white goods sellers..bloody HN why don't they put them up on ebay instead of the junk they have on there..

  • +26

    Here's a search link

    • Bloody champion.

    • Thanks, but I don't think the search link is quite right.
It only looks up the Nile?

      • Works ok with me. I just typed shirt and different stores came up: search

  • Need Arlo cameras and a network switch.

    Arlo cameras are currently $199.

    • Are they any good?

Seem pricey, but I'm looking to replace some dodgy Logitech POE cameras.

    • +3

The Arlo Pro is supposedly being released in Aus in March if you can hold off until then…

      https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Pro/Release-Date-for-A…

      • +1

I'll be waiting for Arlo Pro.

      • I've been waiting on an answer to this question for ages. Glad they're coming soon.

    • typical sydneytec increasing price when theres a promo on, usually $175.
anyways ill wait for for arlo pro.
i have these and the added benefit of 2way audio, comes with rechargeable batteries, local storage + cloud and able to use AC power.

I was planning to [physically] visit the Peters of Kensington store on my next day off this week. How fortuitous that this eBay sale was announced!

    Or so I thought…

In preparation, I had prepared a shopping list by taking a screenshot of a number of items on my phone, prices current as at the weekend. HOWEVER, these prices have since increased on BOTH the eBay site and the regular website.

Traveller's Pouch - Weekend screenshot price $34 - New increased price tonight $38

Razor Guard - Weekend screenshot price $3.50 - New increased price tonight $4

Foldable backpack - Weekend screenshot price $16 - New increased price tonight $18

Travel Organiser - Weekend screenshot price $64 - New increased price tonight $72

I find this rather disappointing and deceptive.

    • fair point! are there laws against this type of deceiving conduct

    • +1

Me too, I wanted a teapot that was $37 but now it is $44. I still save $1.80 but there is no point rushing

      • +2

Agreed. I will be better off purchasing through eBay tomorrow on 3 of these 4 items. But the saving does not equate to a 20% discount.

    • +7

Drop a line to ACCC, keep them accountable. Kogan did the same shit and got flogged with a large fine.

    • Do your screenshots indicate that the original prices were some sort of discounted or sale price already? If so you might have a hard time proving they have actually raised anything as opposed to just removed the previous discount. :(

      • +2

The screenshots indicate a RRP and then the actual [asking] price. This is still the case on the PoK website tonight.

      • yes lots of retailers have "discount off normal prices" vs discount off discounted prices ….. very hard time proving anything wrong.

    • +7

Scumbags. Look at Amoretti Brothers versus Google cache from 04/02 also. Literally every price has been multiplied by 1.25 so as to nullify the 20% off.

        • true are they even listed on ebay ??

        • +2

Hey, llama, let me spell it out for you:

They increase the prices on their own website so geniuses like you think they're getting a great deal on eBay with their "20% off" coupon in comparison.

        • -4

          @Stealthzor:

Yes, they are listed on ebay. Seems very expensive to me, even at the original prices.

    • +6

What we should do is from a group and all write (send a pre-written letter) letters to ACCC about it. Also possibly to eBay though I imagine they probably have a public policy of "don't do it" but really why would they care when they just get more money.

      • -1

and complain they they don't stack discounts on top of discounts ?

    • Good effort.

    • +2

Please do send these screenshots to the accc.

    • To be fair to Peter's of Kensington, they did have a "Grand Re-opening Sale" that was very prominently advertised as finishing at midnight on Sunday (Complete with an "ENDS IN XX:XX:XX" countdown on top of every page), so it makes some sense that their prices on sale items would've changed since the weekend.

Ner Ner: I am looking at the 28 listings for 1TB SSD that the search link finds. Maybe you should … try it.

Nice try and huge fail at trying to prove me one.

        • -2

          @llama:

Link goes nowhere on my phone. Clearly from the other comments others have the same experience.

Not surprising that someone who has 6k posts on a bargain site has interaction issues lol!!

Then learn how to use it. Simply scroll down to the bottom of the linked page and click on "Classic Site".

Not surprising that someone who has 4k posts on a bargain site has interaction issues lol!!

Yes, it's a challenge sometimes. But I try to be patient.

  • Damn no warehouse1 - waiting for a special on an HP Microserver LOL

  • +6

So many likes yet nobody has even pointed to a worthwhile deal

    • +3

Right? eBay gets all the free traffic, no deals to be seen. There is already evidence of price raises (see earlier comment thread). Does eBay really deserve all this love?

  • +8

eBay should really stick to providing sitewide/store-independent coupons. The 20% of selected retailers is meaningless when everyone indulges in price jacking just before the sale. Peters behavior is shocking to say the least. They have either jacked up the prices 10-15% to cover their portion of the discount or completely removed the item. Eg: A pack of 8 X Bodum Pavina 250ml glasses which was easily available for $49 (after using CAU10 coupon) is suddenly not available anymore. Why because Peters is participating in the 20% sham. It is the same story with pretty much every participating retailer. The $20 off $100 sale a few days ago was way more meaningful.

    • +1

Was looking at some wine the other day at Grays. Just checked, just about exactly 20% more expensive now! A joke…

    • The average eBay user does not know they are jacking up prices. All they see is the big red 20% sign.

    • -8

Peters behavior is shocking to say the least.

Sorry I have to step in here and say that Peters Of Kensington are one of the VERY few retailers that don't jack their prices in a 20% off sale.
Other retailers, yep I'll agree a few have been caught out (kogan!)

They have either jacked up the prices 10-15% to cover their portion of the discount or completely removed the item. Eg: A pack of 8 X Bodum Pavina 250ml glasses which was easily available for $49

It's sold out, the listing wasn't removed deliberately

      (Check their website listing](https://www.petersofkensington.com.au/Public/Bodum-Pavina-Do…)
Check the other Bodium Pavinas available here:
"Bodium Pavina" search on PoK Website
"Bodium Pavina" search on PoK ebay store

Prices have not been jacked for Peters of Kensington
Check their own website to see if stock is available before crying wolf
I don't know about other stores though

      • All Bodum Pavina glasses have either gone up to RRP or very close to it. Eg: Bodum Pavina Double-Walled Glass Set 250ml 2pce from $18 to $25. Bodum Pavina Double-Walled Glass Set 350ml from $21 to $29. You can check the google cache. All Microplane Gourmet graters have gone up from $28 to $32. They did not even spare a $5 Chef'n Peeler which now is $6. These are just a few examples of sleight at play here. I also used to believe that Peters were one of the few retailers who would not indulge in such practice, but no, they also have sadly joined the ranks of Kogan etc.

As I've said before, these sales are fast becoming a gimmick, where you have a one in a million chance of grabbing a genuine bargain. In my case, I will have to wait for this sale to end, so that the prices could go back to their normal and the out of stock items reappear (which they will, just after the sale ends).

    • +1

The irony here is the calculating greed of these eBay retailers is doing damage to their image and possibly longevity, despite eBay tying to entice consumers to shop on eBay by funding these discounts.

  • +2

    Dell XPS 13 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7200U 8GB RAM 256GB is $1799 (from $1999) now.
do you think dell will still give it a further 20% off? $1439 is a very delicious price.

    • Not the cheapest it's been unfortunately. Tempted by it though
