    • The 2 in 1 model is quite different, it has a very low power CPU, no regular type A USB ports and it's main feature is it folds over into a tablet.

This 'old' model is actually better as a regular laptop if you don't care about the tablet mode. It's also only a few months old and features the latest generation intel CPUs.

  • Hey Guys - new to the game so please help me out. I was just browsing the Dell Australia website and came across the Inspiron 13 5000 for $1099. Similar specs to the XPS 13 from Dell Ebay -8gb RAM, 256gb SSD, 7th gen i5 7200U processor, and FHD 1920x1080 - plus the Inspiron has touch screen capability. The Inspiron seems to be slightly heavier (1.6kg vs 1.2kg) - but apart from that; I'm not sure why the Inspiron is so much cheaper than the XPS 13. Is there something I'm missing?

    • The build quality is definitely better in XPSs, but I can't remember any other specifics.

    • 200g may not seem alot, but can add an extra 1-1.5cm (approx) difference to the thickness of the laptop.
The XPS is in the ultrabook category, combining a sleek size/design without compromising on power. This is the holy grail of laptop users, who all want something fast and extremely portable. Manufacturers know this, and will therefore put a premium price on this premium category.

  • Anyone who bought one of these receive a tracking receipt from Cash Rewards yet?

    • Yes, received notification from CR, something around $35.xx at 2% rate.

  • back in stock again!

  • I just bought one yesterday when they came back in stock, can anyone recommend accessories? Going to get a soft case and bought a usb-c to hdmi and usb 3 cord. Im unsure what thunderbolt does though.

  • What's Dell's delivery like? I've got mine as an estimated delivery date for 3/03. Are they usually accurate and which courier do they use?

    • Apparently the ebay estimation between 7 and 14 is more realistic. Mine is still not trackable now on 6/3.

      • Yeah figured as much. Mine is now available for tracking as well. Any experiences with db Schenker?

        • Just received an sms this afternoon from Startracks, will be delivered tomorrow, last order in Feb had no drama.

        • @mily: strange how they use different couriers. Would have thought they used the same

        • @Jimmsee: I reckon they just use different names, my order can be tracked on both systems.

        • +1

@mily: yeah seemed to be the case. Got mine this morning :)

        • @Jimmsee: Mine arrived half an hour ago.

        • @mily: and now I've gotta go through their support team because there's a dead pixel…. Great

  • Do they invoice the order the day of order or just before shipping?

    • On the date of delivery.

      • Cool Thanks

  • got mine today.
