      • Awesome - thanks for the tip!

  • Will this work if I am on Optus Prepaid? I just tried and it went through without issue. Technically, I am not "recontracting" because I am not contracted to begin with.

    • I was thinking of doing the same for my wife. Would love if an Optus rep could confirm

      • +1

Got it working, just contact the chat and confirm. Moved from $30 a month prepaid (28 days) to $30 a month postpaid, monthly. Also you get an extra $20 off your home phone/internet if it's with Optus.

        • tried two live chat. they can't help and asked me to go online.

        • @hongd: Disclaimer: I take no responsibility if Optus majorly screw up and lose your number.

Hm, I'd give it another go. All I said was that I am on Optus Prepaid and I want to keep my number and move to this plan.

To be honest, the plans are for everyone except Optus customers already on plans. You may not even need to contact Optus for support concerning having an existing prepaid number.

I'd just put my details in, say keep number, select with "Other carrier" (not Telstra) and go through with it. That's what I did, before I even contacted the Optus team. From there I said, I have signed up to these plans, I want to keep the numbers, don't send new sim cards. I still received a new sim card, but the old one works fine, just them wasting money on StarTrack.

Hi all, here's another URL: ALL GONE

  • Awesome stuff OP.

I'm holding out for the new P10, so fingers crossed these referrals are still kicking around in a few weeks :)

  • What does the referrer receive if we sign up using their link?

    • +3

      good karma

      • "We get internal reward points when you use our links"

    • +2

They could get a new car for all I care, as long as I get my 25% it's a win-win lol

Hi Guys - and another one:

    [all gone!]

  • I am interested in the iphone SE, but 16GB of storage is dismal.
Paying an extra $5/month for a 64GB memory chip is a rort. In China, the 128GB in Shenzen Market are less than $50. Why oh why.. :(

  • Rep is there any way to add a bonus pack of some sort to the $40 plan to include calls to international countries not included. I know there is one such pack for $5/month for 50 mins but that country is not included in that list either.

  • Ordered the $40 SIM only plan. Much appreciated!

  • Why would you not just go with the kogan prepaid sim plans. Why is this plan better?

    • You get a phone too. Kogan sims aren't on sale too.

    • I vowed to never use Vodafone again after their horrid service years ago. Plus, I can pool data with my wife since she occasionally goes over her monthly data allowance.

    • Every time I try it comes up with an error?

      • Allen Lew sent an email out yesterday about it, so I'm sure you'd have received it :)

It looks like most internal newsletters has further details on the offer too.

Edit: my referral link looks to have all redemptions exhausted. Enjoy people!

        • How would you check if people have signed up using your link?

        • @amsaini15: I just clicked on my own link and it said redemptions were exhausted :D

  • If you are an existing customer on a month to month Sim only, can you upgrade to the S7 7G 24 month plan?

Activated the Kogan $1 deal only this morning :(

    @Anotheroptusemployee

  • Hello Gents,

How can I find out I am eligible (under 10 redm) when I sign up via specific link?

  • That is one hell of a deal. Great work OP, shame I don't have an immediate requirement.

  • Anymore links?

  • Got one - thanks mate!

  • OP, my current optus contract will expire on 5th march and I plan to cancel that service on the 5th as I want a new plan and number.

Would I be able to sign up to this one as a 'new' customer today?

    • Yes, but that just means that you will be paying for two numbers until you cancel your old number.

what does it mean: 25% OFF DISCOUNT
    WILL APPEAR ON 2ND BILL

    • No, please don't.

      • Sorry - just trying help by saving you time from not having to continually update the deal :)

        • No worries. All good. Optus will probably disable the promo soon. :)

  • Will this 30 day trial apply for these deals? http://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/network/tryoptus?SID=con…
I live regionally and a bit unsure how decent the coverage is

  • hi Guys - I'm on optus sim only $30 per month, with $5 fetch mini & free EPL.

Is it possible to upgrade to e.g.the S7 at $48 per month, and retain the free EPL?

  • Has anyone currently with Optus but out of contract been successful in getting this deal? I just tried on chat but the rep was firm on telling me that it is for new customers only.

    • call up and tell them u will leave…then they will credit it accordingly to the plan you are on…but have to signup for 12 months

      • I'm on chat at the moment but im not getting anywhere. I did threaten to take my services to another company.

        • it did not wok on chat, i called them and they managed to do it

        • what did you tell them or ask them?

        • @BobbMak: Did you call sales? or a different department?

  • +1

Just managed to secure $120.00 credit as an existing customer, on $40.00 sim only plan….what a savings

    • How I've had no luck at all!!

      • call them and threaten to leave and they will do as one off good-will gesture

    • Im on a pension can i get a phone??

  • Is there a way to see how much it would cost me to leave a contract with 6 months left?

EDIT: It's an Optus contract (to sign up for this)

    • 6 months x the min contract cost per month?

      • On the page it says "If you need to leave your plan early you can. Simply pay out the full remaining cost of your phone including any amount Optus was going to cover." So it sounds like I'd only pay for the phone subsidy portion?

        • If you are on a SIM only plan, then Optus will lose out of you leave early.
So I imagine that there would be some part of the plan that you have to pay (or penalty) on top of the handset repayments.

  • Only for NEW plans & customers?
I have 2 months left on a SIM only plan.

    • Hi,

I signed up with your link above but I am having issues. I tried to send you a message but it does not allow me to.

  • I just re-contracted my SIM only plan days ago, it combined with student 10% off and home internet bundle $10 off discount, it should be $26/m with 12G data(first 12 month only, after that retreating to 10G data and 300min international calls)

  • Guys and Gals, here's another useable link.
    https://offer.optus.com.au/employeeadvantage/offer/?in=OPTUS…

  • here's one more link :) link's exhausted

  • Yeah awesome man - this is fantastic!

Just wondering if anyone knows - i'm currently on Virgin ($40 for 12gb / unlimited) and my parents are both on a similar deal. Does anyone know if the free 'virgin to virgin' works for virgin to optus, given theyre on the same network?

    Thanks :)
