Got SMS from DHL state that delivery is on the way , check credit card , Amazon.de already charged the card .

I paid 657 + 19 international transactions fee. Still am very happy. Far better than 960 here when on sale. This was my first int. transaction - will have to do more research on saving more by using right card 😊
And yes I got my package yesterday - bare box but sealed and all good inside - only issue is no au power plug so will have to find one
@VAA: Yah, I always use my no international transaction fee card for online shopping and travelling. Always a better rate than the stores provide as well.
I'm lucky I have multi-use power boards, so ended up just using the UK chunky one. Its a standard IEC-C7 plug from memory, so you should be able to pick one of those up easily from Jaycar, eBay or similar.
Can't fault shipping by any other place than Australia Post. Item posted on Monday now with courier for delivery today. Can't even get mail from the east coast to Perth in that time.

Yep mine just arrived just clear shrink wrapped. I have the 2 drives out and pre-clearing in my unraid server now.
Mine in the same condition , just the box and DHL sticker on one side .
Oh and I registered the drives in my WD support account and they come up as being in warranty for just over 3 years.

Got mine today in Sydney. DHL repackaged the WD into a cardboard box and put in some scrunched up paper to fill out the packing box.

All is working well though. just transferring all my photos/videos on it now as we speak. 2TB+ is taking a while… I'm only getting about 500mbps which is probably the limit of the USB drive.

Just trying to decided to whether to leave it as a 8TB Raid drive or split them for 16TB of JBODs
I went RAID 0 16TB for a boost in read/write performance. Of course if there is any failure in either one, I lose everything similar to JBOD I think but faster. Probably better going RAID 0 since the drive sizes match? Gonna keep a copy of photos backed up on a 4TB external drive. Key documents too. Everything else is pretty expendable.

How did the warranty registeration go - anything on whether the item can be repaired in Australia?
I haven't registered my drives, but checked the warranty. Valid for Germany, but mentions wrong region or something like that when checked for Australia so I think it would have to be sent back to Germany if there are any issues.
